    Pros +

    • Incredible location in a very quiet area
    • It’s beautiful and in a lovely location extremely quiet and very enjoyable.
    • The property was excellent, refurb of the room was the best I have seen in an older property, staff were great, breakfast was good but expensive

    Cons -

    • No staff difficult to get into the hotel and towels you’d see in a camp site not a top hotel
    • Staff? What staff.. no-one there. They send you messages by email in err Dutch which is very useful. You can’t read it but here’s the rub you have to check in between 2-5 pm or make special arrangements. The system to get into the hotel is very difficult and we along with 2 other couples room over 25 minutes to enter. The information on how to use the self opening door needs seriously revamping. Considering the cost the towels supplied were what you’d expect at a butlins holiday camp. Terrible. No restaurant on site to serve dinner which is is a pain when you’ve driven 8 hours
    • My stay was cancelled on the day. It was prepaid and I never received compensation

The friendly front desk young lady. Very comfortable beds and cleaning staff every day.The hotel is beautiful from the outside

We expected more of the hotel, which in the end it looked like only an event venue rather than a hotel. No real service, like a proper bar in the evenings or restaurant, only breakfast. If you have no vehicle, take note that the bus stop is about 800m away. And the bus can take up to 30 min to Maastrich.

Good location, affordable price for low season, great environment around, friendly and helpful staff

The room is not well designed. The positions of bed, tv, fridge, cabinets, mirror, etc. are not designed for convenience of the guests. Some dust found on the lamps. There was one night that there there is a business club, they made a lot of noise which could be heard from 1st floor. Lucky they stopped before 10pm.

The building and the room are really beautiful, and the nature and old castle ruins next to it, make it special. The bathroom is beautifully designed with Villeroy&Bosch bathtub. It is located a short 13 minute drive from Maastricht.

Everything was nice and I'm glad a discovered it.

Amazing building, colorful autumn and surroundings, smiley staff, good value for money. We felt like a price and princess! Thank you so much!

That we had to check-in ourselves after 5pm. For some reason, Booking.com did not have the messages from the host in the website chat box.

    Truly a castle experience.

Due to the wind the doors were shuttering all night. It made it quite difficult to sleep. Also the beds were too soft for my our liking.

Beautiful place, clean and comfortable, nice stadf

Bathroom door, shower curtain and a normal height toilet were missed

Before we arrived we received a message that there were some technical problems with the building that affected the room we were going to stay in. It was resolved in an excellent manner. Great team and management. The building is what you would call 'stately' and at the same time close to Maastricht in a nice setting. Great place.

    All was good.

Look, surroundings, comfort and the old building

I think I paid for it when we booked, I am still going to check when I’m home. So the unexpected extra expenses as we arrived after a long long day really messed up my finances.

    Location, room views

During our stay we did not meet any personel, kasteel does not have a restaurant (uses hotel near by)

The outside look and the historical aspect were great!

We booked 3 rooms for two nights. Specifically asking for two rooms with king beds and one room with two twin beds. We arrived late in the evening and had to do self check-in. None of the rooms were two twin beds. Two of the rooms had awful smells, one significantly worse than the other. Parents took that room. It smelled of mold and both of us had sore throats and runny noses within 30 minutes of being in the room. This room also had no door on the bathroom…? Just a half wall….no doors on showers, no curtains, nothing. Just open space and next to no privacy. We did not stay the second night. We left and paid for a hotel in Brussels.

Breakfast was okay. Location very nice despite the trees had no leaves.

The smell of chlorine when entering our room. Carpet in hallway still waits to be renovated/replaced.

    9Airin1887Posted on: 7-2-2023

Amazing location close to the walking areas in the forest, interesting historical building, very freindly and helpful staff, comfortable big room, nice beds, good breakfest. We enjoyed our stay there and will definitely return.

It was dufficult to find an available room in weekend, as there are not so many rooms, the castle is always fully booked in weekends...

We had a very comfortable and homely stay at Pietersheim - in wonderful, quiet surroundings. I really enjoyed my early morning walks round the old moated castle ruin. The place is a gem!

Not really a dislike, but it could do with a good interior design uplift - it has enormous potential, that should be realised - eg the small Vermeer print above the stately reception area!

    9EilkePosted on: 5-31-2023

beautiful location, nice rooms and very friendly reception

nothing particular. food could be improved. snacks and breakfast were basic

    6DominikPosted on: 5-6-2023

The location is stunning - next to an old castle ruins and nice national forest. The breakfast was pleasant.

We were put in a room in the attic, which had very little light coming in. The room had an unpleasant odour, and signs of moisture/mold. The hotel itself felt like it was an events venue, with no bar or restaurant.
