About
The Parador de Melilla sits on high ground with views of the city and nearby beaches. It offers a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and sun terrace set among grounds. The restaurant looks out to sea and serves traditional Andalusian cuisine, such as chicken pie and griddled sea bass. Guests can also enjoy light refreshments at the bar. This Melilla Parador is in the Ataque Seco district next to the Lobera Park and the Fuerte de la Victoria, Melilla’s ancient jail. It is 2 miles from Melilla Airport and half a mile from the port.

Pros +
- History, charm, flair.
- Excellent old school, fabulous location at the top of the city with spectacular views. Extremely comfortable and clean, superb breakfast.
- Great views from the rooms balcony. Friendly and helpful staff. Yes, it’s a little dated but it has some charm and was very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay there.
Cons -
- Very difficult to access with neighborhood construction. Google maps could not find a way to get around it all. Very poor external signage. You didn’t know if you were at the hotel, or at an offsite parking lot. They were practically empty, but could not accommodate an extra night stay.
- The room temperature was far too hot. We couldn't cool the room down. We had to leave the balcony door open all the time Which meant that we had the noise from the city all night long and on a Saturday night there is a lot of noise. The room is very tired and requires updating
- A little dated and maintenance needs to be improved Limited dinner menu and senior restaurant staff less friendly and less helpful than team members.

Location, with great views from our room, very helpful check in staff, allowing us to check in very early. Breakfast very good with helpful friendly staff

Excellent hotel on a hill over Melilla with marvellous views, only a few minutes walk from city center and harbour area. Nice room with super comfortable big bed. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Good WiFi. By the way: Melilla with its beautiful Liberty Style buildings is a hidden gem and merits much more visitors.
Some people may say it's a bit dated. In my opinion not. The Parador has its history and the old furniture etc. gives the hotel much charme.
Superb views over the city, port and Rif mountain foothills. Food excellent and all staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
A steep hill up to the hotel required a reasonably priced taxi uphill each day. Public transport is not great and some areas are difficult to walk to. If the hotel could provide e-bikes to hire it would be a great opportunity and incentive to explore the wider areas of this fascinating city.
The view from our room was beautiful. Even though we were on the 2nd floor, it was still spectacular since it was on a hill. The staff is very friendly, especially Dina at the restaurant.
The view is spectacular, the location was quite central (though uphill to the hotel), the room was really lovely and spacious. The serving staff were very friendly and helpful.
It was a bit run down and needs maintenance.
We had a room on the 4th floor with lovely views across the city .The air conditioning was perfect as the room could get very warm as the sun shone onto it nearly all day. It was great to have a a bath in the bathroom for a change as apposed to just a shower .The beds were made every day and towels changed if we left them in the bath .Breakfast had everything you could need to start off the day .The scrambled egg was cooked when ordered as was the bacon and fried eggs..My husband made use of the swimming pool a couple of times and it was spotlessly clean and not too cold! The walk up to the hotel from the city was not as taxing as we thought it might be after reading other peoples reviews. It’s well worth it for the hotels views of the city !
The WI-FI was very slow and for the last day and a half we didn’t have any in our room despite reporting it to reception. However we could pop down to reception as the signal was ok there ? Just a small inconvenience. The rooms were dated and bathroom slightly shabby but they were spotlessly clean .The dining room was a bit warm, so obviously the air con isn’t as efficient in there as in the bedrooms.
In general, the place is great. The room is large, the conditioner works fine, and the view is magnificent. The staff was also friendly, and even though not all of them were English-speaking, they always tried to help.
Breakfast - The selection is too poor for my taste. No greens or vegetables, yougurt was available just the first day of our stay. And it wasn't easy to feed my child, she doesn't eat fried eggs (only boiled which was not included), there were no cereals or porridge, mainly just bread, cold cuts, pastries, and some fruits.
Probably the nicest hotel in Melilla. Gorgeous views in all directions. Nice and quiet, but still walkable to the old town and the main parts of the city. This is a great base for exploring.
Breakfast was good
Hotel located at the top of a steep hill. The swimming pool closed at 2.30pm for 2 hours not great in 32 degrees temperatures, especially when the local teenagers were able to access the pool during these hours as the gate to the pool was not locked during those 2 hours.
Amazing views from the balcony.A large room with comfortable beds.Very friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel.a good selection of very tasty food in the restaurant and cafeteria.
Quite a steep walk back to the hotel from the centre, the price of amazing views I'm afraid.A slight criticism was that room and balcony furniture could us some TLC.
The over the hill old style hotel with noble material, the size of the room and the spurerb view of the sea, the harbor and city center. The breakfast was good too
The need of some maintenance, with refreshing painting..
Beautiful rooms clean and comfy Close to the city centre but beautiful views .Very friendly staff
Not the nicest pool
Big room with huge balcony and outstanding view.
The view
Swimming pool closed no terrace
Great view, comfortable beds, large room with balcony, centrally located, excellent breakfast and clean. Plus a wonderful staff and great service.
All was good.
It is not up to the standards of a "Parador". Nice views
Very old facilities. Not a single dime has been invested in renovations in the last 10-20 years.
