Hôtel Rive Sud

This was one of the coolest hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff is incredibly nice and speak great English. The courtyard and lounge are so pretty. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

I had the best stay. The rooms are simple but very clean and stylish. The breakfast room is beautiful and breakfast itself was excellent. Great location for exploring Chinon.

Not enough time to stay longer. I will definitely return to this hotel and Chinon.

French charm abounds in the aesthetic and ambience. Lovely courtyard, room had all the modern amenities but still cozy. Breakfast was wonderful. Staff went out of their way to provide a light dinner even though it was Sunday.

Super comfortable, relaxing property—the perfect blend of modern and rustic that just feels like serenity. The owners were very helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was wonderful with an assortment of local products.

Very minor point, but no one is at the desk between breakfast and check-in time—I didn't realize this (and admittedly didn't let them know my hour of arrival in advance), and so had to wait 30mins to drop my bags off after getting into town.

Lovely hotel with great garden, comfortable bedroom with lovely toiletries. The lady on reception was so friendly and helpful. She advised us on restaurants and rang up to book us in for meals. Lovely breakfast with homemade products and a great choice. The hotel is located on a quiet street on the south side of the river with easy walking access to the centre of town. We would highly recommend this lovely hotel with friendly and welcoming staff.

A little noisy at night.

Beautiful decor and very cosy with both an authentic traditional and modern theme. Lovely proprietors; very welcoming with delicious breakfast available on request with many local and home made produce.

Towels were on the thin/small side.

Rudy et Mathieu were welcoming and helpful. Breakfasts were le top!

This little hotel was fabulous! We stayed in “Utopia” and had an enormous room, lovely bathroom & shower, and even a tub in the middle of the bedroom. Bed was so comfortable, and there were several skylights to brighten the room during the day. The breakfast was wonderful with lots of homemade items like their yogurt and banana bread, but the baguette & croissant were also fresh & delicious.

We would like to have had better service for drinks & appetizers in the evening. The menu said service would be till 7 or 8 pm, but we felt that our hosts were too busy to serve us more than one glass of wine. We weren’t able to order any appetizers. Other than that, we liked everything.

Friendly & helpful staff. The rooms were clean & nicely decorated. Breakfast was great.

Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast and ideally suited for exploring Chinon. Very well restored old building with good outdoor space as well.

Bathroom was marginally small

Very well laid out and furnished , neat tight nice courtyard and friendly owners

Everyone was super helpful. They now offer a supper charcuterie and cheese board which was perfect with a chilled glass of rose in the garden.Breakfast was amazing - I especially liked the choice of breads and the yoghurt a la maison.

All was perfect.

Absolutely nothing…

The superfriendly and informative owners, Rudy and Matieu. The location near to the local riverside bar from where you can see spectacular views of the fortress. The fresh and renovated decor. The garden looked lovely.. we were lucky to find parking right outside but the owner will be shortly opening a parking over the road! Oh and the fabulous breakfast!!!

We didnt have a problem but I think parking will be an issue until the new parking is open. Remember to make a restaurant reservation in advance. Chinon is very popular!

The hotel was very modern and I liked the room and bathroom.It was a young couple who did everything to high standards. I would recommend.

Possibly a hairdryer would be helpful.
