About

Originally built in 19th Century, the Mirando & Suizo is the oldest hotel in San Lorenzo de El Escorial. It combines modern facilities such as free WiFi with traditional details. All rooms at the hotel are en suite and come with air conditioning and a TV. A mini-bar is available upon prior request. The Miranda & Suizo has a lovely terrace. Here breakfast is served and there are great views of the city. There is also a restaurant and bar. This hotel is set only 66 feet from the famous Monastery. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the historic residence of the kings of Spain. It is only 31 miles from Madrid and is well-connected to the capital by train and coach. The hotel is close to several golf courses. The surroundings include the Sierra de Madrid mountains. This area is ideal for hiking, biking and horse-riding.

    • the bed was comfy

    Cons -

    • The hot water took a while to get going in the morning and the WiFi was a bit spotty.
    • the room was plenty of hair of someone else, I've requested twin beds as we were 2 males but we got a double bed in a mansard roofed room which made it really uncomfortableno ceiling lamp, so during dark hours it was making it even worse
    • The floor in the room was not cleaned.

The view of El Escorial from the room was absolutely fantastic! We loved the historic, beautiful building, balcony and central location.

It's not the hotel's fault that it had NO water in the morning. What they could have done is: provide a water bottle for guests to brush their teeth in the morning. So, no shower, toilet or sink use in the morning and the front desk guy was unpleasant when I asked for a bottle of water. Doesn't seem like too much to ask, when the hotel has no water.

Characterful property in the heart of the town.

Additional charge seemed high for our very small dog.

Great location, spacious room, good restaurant for menu of the day.

This was a most beautiful hotel in a lovely area. It is right next door to the Royal Site of San Lorenzo. It is close to parking if required which is very conveniently located a short distance away. The rooms were comfortable, beds were comfortable, pillows were good. The shower was great. Breakfast was included in our tariff and was served in the cafe area and was as expected for a European continental breakfast. We visited in mid September which was only just past peak season but the hotel restaurant was already closed for the season. We would definitely stay here again given the opportunity.

    Nothing in particular.

My son and I stayed in the best room with balcony.

We spent one night here and the location could not have been better. This charming hotel is situated just a few steps from the town square and faces the Royal Monastery which is also just a short walk away, across the street. There are many bars and restaurants to choose from in the surrounding streets and discounted parking is available just 100 metres away. Our room looked over a side street but was still perfect for a one night stop over. It was well appointed, clean and very quiet when the windows were closed. We did not take the optional breakfast so cannot comment on this.We would definitely stay here again.

    Bad

Calls were forcibly disconnected multiple times by staff who were not comfortable communicating in English.

Excellent location, 300 m from El Escorial doors. The room was very clean, with a balcony looking at El Escorial towers. Included breakfast was good.

    All good

    Absolute favourite!

Breakfast was included, but wasn’t much. Orange juice was not freshly made.

The hotel is right in the center of town. Many of the sights, restaurants, and shops are within a few steps to a few blocks. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure I had a pleasant stay.

The cafeteria food was disappointing. And my particular room, although lovely, was over the delivery area, so trucks started unloading right under my window starting around 5:00 a.m.

    8ElainePosted on: 11-20-2023

    Great location, clean, well maintained.

    5DarylPosted on: 11-13-2023

Location great, receptionist brilliant, bed very comfy

Room was noisy, cramped and decor tired. Breakfast service poor, no glasses or cups, coffee machine empty, waitress went missing for 15 minutes. Not great.

    8MichaelPosted on: 11-12-2023

Especially the location, the absence of fuss or complexity, and the price in comparison with what I'm used to in the UK

Cafeteria open at 8.00 on second morning but no food by 8.25, when I gave up

    10GáborPosted on: 10-30-2023

Staff was very helpful, nice big rooms, very good quality- price ratio!
