    Pros +

    • Clean, spacious , well located, cozy, comfortable, friendly and nice bakery with the hotel.
    • We stayed here for 3 nights and it was the perfect place to explore parts of the RheinSteig hiking trail and surrounding villages. The hotel was very comfortable with an excellent breakfast. Frau Maas was a wonderful and caring host. She personally served breakfast and made sure her guests were comfortable. We would definitely come back here.
    • Cute building, clean. Smells like it’s always being cleaned. Room fresh and bright. Has a fan, opening window, and skylight shutter. I had a bike and they stored it out back for me. AMAZING German breakfast at the cafe, well worth it.

    Cons -

    • Some structure noises maybe from the ceiling, but it stopped for most part of the night and it didn’t bother or disrupt my sleep.
    • There was little WiFi connectivity but, since we came here to unplug from the world, we didn't care much about this.
    • No AC, but there was a fan in the room.

Nice. Close to train, netto and restaurants. Great place to stay if you’re hiking the area. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Good breakfast.

No AC, but there was a fan in the room.

Excellent location, cozy interior, nice view of the castle from the cheapest room in the hotel, very nice and hospitable owners and staff. Breakfast was very nice as well, various, but without hot dishes (which is absolutely fine and expected for this category of hotel). Very good cappuccino was also included.

Excellent room, good beds, amazing breakfast

Friendly place in a village with a beautiful castle and 'Fachwerkhäusern'.

The sauna was being repaired...which was a pity.

I have been hiking Rheinsteig and by far this was the best place I stayed in Florian greeted me and checked me in the room was spacious and extremely clean with a very good quality and comfortable bed It was a outside sitting area to sit and listen to water running from a fountain Breakfast was excellent, Andrea welcomed me in cafe and I have to say she is an amazing person All in all I recommend this place strongly

Charming property in the center of a small, charming town. Castle easily accessible from property and there is parking close to property. Lovely breakfast in an adorable cafe downstairs.

The property was a great location near the harbour for a boat ride and for the hike up to see the Marksburg castle. The hotel had free parking which was great then we could walk everywhere. The staff were so friendly and the breakfast was incredible. They let us use our leftovers to make sandwiches for lunch.

    Friendly staff; big room, location

Excellent breakfast in the associated cafe. Asked us to make lunch rolls with the spare food which was most welcome as we travelled towards Italy.

Beds were too soft for a 6foot man.

Perfect location for us, staff very friendly, Breakfast in the bakery next door is excellent. Highly recommended.

We booked this stay as an overnight stop off on the way back to Rotterdam ferry. The studio room was very comfortable for a family of four, and the breakfast was possibly the best I’ve ever had at a hotel. It was a hearty feast of excellent food. The lady who runs the hotel was incredibly friendly and the town itself was a delight to walk around. Shame we only stayed one night.

Real gem of a place, excellent location for exploring the small old town and riverside. Had a very quiet room, stunning views of the castle from the terrace garden, especially at night. Quirky

old hotel with lots of stairs which may not suit all. Breakfast was good in the bakery below but there were lots of flies

Great location, just a short walk from the station, bus stop and river.Fabulous room overlooking the garden.Wonderful breakfast served in the bakery run by the owners.Lovely and welcoming staff

Would have liked a kettle in the room, though did have access to one in the communal area.

The room was at the top floor under a slanted roof. A lot of wood was used for the floor, beds, part of the ceiling and furniture. One of the walls is painted light green. The bathroom was clean and convenient. The breakfast at the Bakery underneath the Hotel is superb! Only croissants were missing!

The room was cooled with two ventilators. One ceiling ventilator above the beds and one mobile standing ventilator. Under a slanted roof this isn't sufficient. Especially at warm days in the Summer. Air conditioning would improve comfort greatly. When we arrived it took 10 minutes to fiend someone to provide the key for the front door and room. The parking is situated 150 meters across the street.

Really friendly staff. The breakfast was wonderful. The facilities were very clean.

No AC meant our top-floor room was very hot. Also no lift.
