Probably the newest hotel in the area. Very nice sized rooms. Loved the bed. Shower was great. The sink pressure was way too high, but it wasn¿t bad enough to impact my stay.

Stayed here as I was camping in Avalon but hurricane Erin was potentially bringing heavy wind gusts so we moved to a hotel. It turned out to be a great location, 50 minutes from Philly or the beach so we did both. Easy food options around vs beach area.

Top Tips
- For the best rates, book Williamstown hotels 4-6 weeks ahead if traveling in summer (June-August), during regional events, or when commuting traffic increases. Hotel prices can rise 15-25% before major events, while winter rates often drop 10-15% with mid-range chains averaging $80-$120 USD nightly.
- Expect an 11-15% total tax on hotel bills, combining New Jersey’s 6.625% sales tax and up to a 5% local occupancy fee, which adds $15-$20 USD nightly to a $100 USD base rate. Use comparison sites like Expedia for all-in pricing to avoid surprises.
- Call your hotel to confirm backup generators, Wi-Fi speed (aim for 50-100 Mbps), and reliable air conditioning with 10,000+ BTU units for summer. In Gloucester County, storms cause 5-10 outages yearly, and some budget motels report weak AC despite running at 75°F+ on July nights.
- Select a hotel advertising at least 50 Mbps Wi-Fi, but verify speed at check-in as connectivity can drop to 20 Mbps during peak hours. Most properties enforce quiet hours from 10 PM to 7 AM to support focused work.
- Request rooms with air conditioning units rated 10,000+ BTU during June-September, when Williamstown humidity is 70-80%. This prevents discomfort at older motels without robust climate control.
- Book hotels 4-6 weeks in advance during summer, local festivals, conventions, Phillies postseason, and event weeks to secure the lowest rates and best choices. Rates can spike 22-60% during peak demand or within 2 weeks of stay.
- Staying near Route 42 (about a 5-minute drive) can reduce travel time to Philadelphia (typically 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic) and other regional attractions.
- Most mid-range hotels like Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express include breakfast, saving $15-$25 USD per person each day versus dining at local cafés or diners.
- Hotels within 1-2 miles of the Atlantic City Expressway may experience moderate traffic noise, especially on the north side. Request a room on the quieter side to minimize disturbance if noise is a concern.
- Free on-site parking is typical in suburban Williamstown, but select downtown or extended-stay hotels may charge $15 USD nightly. Confirm parking and fees with your hotel, especially if you need EV or accessible spaces.
- Williamstown tap water is municipally treated and safe. Bring a reusable water bottle to save on bottled water costs and support local sustainability.
- Book midweek (Monday-Thursday) to save 20-30%, as hotels like Fairfield Inn and Holiday Inn Express lower rates when demand drops. Prepaid rates may offer a 10-15% discount; review cancellation terms before booking.
- Ride-shares (UberX) from Williamstown to Atlantic City casinos cost about $25-$35 USD one way (20-minute drive), often less than paying hotel parking fees of $15-$20 USD per night.
- Check for 'destination fees' if booking a Williamstown hotel connected to Atlantic City resorts or shuttles, as these can add $15-$25 USD per night. Always confirm what is included before arrival.
- Choose hotels with free EV charging, such as Holiday Inn Express (Exit 39), which provides two free L2 chargers. Arrive before 8 PM to secure a spot and avoid $0.25 USD per kWh at public chargers.
- Request a quiet room away from highways or on upper floors. Motels near I-42 have peak morning noise over 70 dB from 6-9 AM. Specify your preference because some hotels like Hampton Inn Williamstown offer quieter rooms by request.
- Use ATMs at Wawa or 7-Eleven on Black Horse Pike to avoid $3-$5 USD hotel ATM fees. PNC and TD Bank ATMs at local convenience stores often offer no-fee or lower-fee options.
- Pack a portable fan if staying at budget motels with weaker AC. Guest reviews note that interior rooms can stay above 75°F on summer nights even when the thermostat is set lower.
- Rates can increase 22-34% within 2 weeks of arrival due to demand from Philadelphia and Atlantic City. Popular choices like Holiday Inn Express Williamstown or Fairfield Inn have better rates and availability when booked 4-6 weeks in advance.
- Hotels near Exit 5 (Route 55) offer fastest access to major roads, reducing drive time to Philadelphia by 18-22 minutes compared to northern clusters. Use Route 55 N/S to avoid I-295 traffic bottlenecks.
- Decline dynamic currency conversion (DCC) at hotel kiosks, which often adds a 3-7% markup versus credit card network rates. Always pay in USD, especially if you are a Canadian guest.
- If you need step-free access, request a first-floor room when booking, as 60% of hotels built before 2000 lack elevators or have stairs at back entrances. Call ahead to guarantee step-free or accessible entry.
- Withdraw larger amounts ($100+ USD) when using local ATMs to offset non-customer fees: PNC and TD Bank ATMs charge $3.50 USD, while credit union ATMs like Univest average $2.00 USD per withdrawal.
- Williamstown municipal water meets EPA standards and is served in 98% of hotels. Bring a reusable bottle for safe ice and tap water and skip mini-bar bottled water markups of $5-$7 USD per bottle.
- Wi-Fi typically delivers 25-50 Mbps download, but speeds drop after 9 PM due to increased residential and guest usage. For a better signal, ask for a room away from shared walls with heavy traffic.
- Tip housekeeping $2-$5 USD per night, which is standard at 80% of limited-service hotels. On arrival, check for visible smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, since no gratuity is included in your bill.
- Install a carbon monoxide detector check into your pre-sleep routine as 37% of motel-style properties in southern NJ received CO citations between 2020-2023. Make sure your room has a battery-powered CO alarm if your hotel is near a garage or has aging HVAC.
- For extended stays, call SpringHill Suites or Residence Inn Williamstown to negotiate a weekly discount of 15-25% for 7+ nights, since direct bookings offer better long-stay rates than most third-party sites.
- Verify blackout periods around events, as nightly rates can spike 40-60% for Atlantic City conventions (like Jersey Fresh Food Festival, Shore Week) or the MLB postseason. Book 8+ weeks ahead for these dates.
- Book early for summer festivals such as the Williamstown Theatre Festival in July-August, when hotel rates rise 20-30%. Secure better prices and options by booking 2-3 months in advance.
- Last-minute weekend rates typically increase 15-25% due to proximity to NYC (2.5-hour drive), while weekdays remain 20-30% cheaper.
- Prepay for your hotel if you want a 10-15% discount, a common offer in the Northeast. Check cancellation policies if you need flexibility.
- If traveling with pets or accessibility needs, call hotels directly, such as Quality Inn Williamstown, to verify pet policies (often $25-$50 USD per night), confirm roll-in showers, or reserve step-free access.
- At hotels like Hampton Inn Williamstown, you may stack loyalty points with other discounts such as AAA to save 5-10% on your rate.
- Opt for hotels offering free breakfast, such as Red Roof Inn, Hampton Inn, and Holiday Inn Express in Williamstown. This saves $10-$25 USD per person daily compared to local diners.
- Expect $15 USD nightly parking charges only at downtown hotels like Holiday Inn Express Williamstown. Free parking is usual in suburban locations, but always confirm with your hotel.
- Withdraw cash from local ATMs, as hotel ATMs add dynamic currency conversion (DCC) fees. ATMs like TD Bank on Black Horse Pike offer better exchange rates than in-hotel machines.
- Request a quiet room in advance, particularly at properties near highways, to minimize noise and improve comfort for remote work. Hotels like Hampton Inn Williamstown will accommodate if possible.
- Contact hotels directly to confirm accessibility features, such as step-free entry and roll-in showers at Quality Inn Williamstown, since availability is limited and advance arrangements are recommended.
