Pros +

  • Character property with modern comfortable rooms in perfect location
  • This is a quaint hotel. This comes with lovely old decor and some creaky floorboards. The room was nicely renovated. Breakfast was good and the location is pretty convenient for people arriving by bus or train and access to the gondola.
  • Hotel is close to the ski lifts and the staff was super friendly

Cons -

  • Breakfast and dining offering needs improvement
  • The walls are very thin so you can hear the neighbors talking or watching TV. The bathroom is functional but could do with some anti-mould spray in the shower.Biggest problem though was that although the hotel claims they have luggage storage, I was unable to leave my luggage! This is false advertisement and ended up costing me time and money to figure out an alternative. I’ve definitely stayed in hotels in the area for cheaper and a better experience.

The softest bed I've ever had and I've loved it, the extra towels in the shower for wet ground ~ thank you, much appreciated! They stored my bicycle even though they didn't have the dedicated garage/locker. It was close to the town with breakfast included.

Not a huge problem, but one of the receptionists that was also a waiter wasn't particularly nice, I understood that he was in a rush, but please take your time to handle your customers with care. Issue became when I asked if we can have conversation in english. Luckily I understood his language but couldn't speak it.

Fabulous stay at this lovely quaint traditional family run hotel in the heart of Schladming just 10mins walk from the train station. Albert, Mama Tritscher and staff were exceptionally welcoming, courteous, attentive, friendly, helpful and incredibly efficient and couldn’t do enough for us. Our spotlessly clean spacious room on 3rd floor was quiet, cosy and super comfortable. The stairs (no lift) might be a challenge for some but was fine for us. Firm and comfy bed, powerful shower with excellent pressure, lashings of hot water and ample toiletries, plentiful wardrobe storage and hangers, good sized desk and pleasant seating area, and flatscreen TV was perfect. Our half board meal option was prompt, piping hot, hearty and delicious. The simple continental breakfast and traditional ‘home-cooked’ 3-course evening meals had variety and choice and was tasty and filling; absolutely perfect after a day’s skiing and the evening A La Carte menu was sumptuous and delicious too! We thoroughly enjoyed our exhilarating skiing holiday and super relaxing and restful stay and would highly recommend this lovely quaint traditional Austrian hotel as the perfect base to discover all that Schladming and the stunning surrounding mountains and outdoors activities that Austria has to offer. Thank you family Tritscher for a wonderful stay. We’ll be back! ❤️

The hotel looks a little dated on first appearance but it's all part of its charm; it's a traditional family hotel I think and we loved it. It's kept very clean, and everything you need is there for a comfortable stay. The hotel is in a central location in Schladming, just at the end of the main high street and a leisurely 10-minute walk in ski boots to the Planai 1 lift station. Breakfast in the morning consists of fresh bread and bread rolls of various types, meat, and cheeses to go with it, a selection of jams and honey, etc. There were also eggs available each day plus yogurts and cereals. Plus tea and good strong coffee obviously. Typical Austrian I think. Evening meals were taken in the hotel restaurant and again were of good quality and variation each day. All of the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for any of them.We would definitely go back for a second stay.

Nothing, it was excellent

Spacious rooms with comfortable beds, right in the centre of town. Breakfast was adequate, staff were nice enough. It was fine for what we needed whilst skiing but wasn't luxury.

Hotel always smelt really strongly of food (as if the extractors pumped kitchen smell up in the hotel corridors and the bathroom smelt of damp. Pretty dated and basic.

Breakfasts were fine and there were always options for dinner, which was great. Room with comfy bed and spacy wardrobe for all our staff. No problem with storing bikes inside. Fantastic location directly in city center (great in summer)

The location brings the fact, there are churces neer to the apartments, so there bells ringing in the morning, from 6 am. (no problem for us, but good to know)
