We had the most magical stay. The reception staff were so lovely and considerate. They were so helpful and went above and beyond including making sure we had dinner when we arrived late and looking after our bags after check out. The room was very comfortable and the spa area was excellent. We appreciated the turndown service and the complimentary snacks. Highly recommend the restaurant for lunch or dinner!Only a 10 minute walk from the train station. We also really appreciated the city pass included with the stay.

We stayed at Castel Hörtenberg for two nights and it was truly incredible from start to finish. The setting is beautiful, the atmosphere refined yet relaxed, but what really made the stay unforgettable was the staff.A special thank you to Rigena, Hamza, and Ryan, who spent over an hour helping us make and maintain a fire so we could fully enjoy the outdoor evening. That level of care and dedication is rare and says everything about the spirit of this place. The spa is one of a kind, elegant, serene, and perfectly designed for deep relaxation. Breakfast was extremely generous, with a great variety and excellent quality. We also dined at the hotel’s restaurant, Le Segrete, which was outstanding, and the signature porcini ice cream was a surprising and memorable highlight. An exceptional stay in every sense. We’ll absolutely be back.
Luxurious experience embedded in each and every detail, spacious rooms, amazing hotel's restaurant, super clean spa & wellness and a wonderful outside (heated) pool! The castle from a fairy tale...
Super friendly staff Clean luxury and comfortable
Great breakfast with a late carte options and fresh ingredients. Location a bit challenging to find but close to the center.
At check-in, no information was provided regarding restaurant availability. We were kindly shown around the property, including the restaurant, but when we attempted to dine shortly afterwards, we were informed that it was fully booked. No alternative dining options were offered on site, and the only suggestion was to dine elsewhere, without any recommendations or directions. As it was a Sunday evening, most nearby restaurants were closed, and we were therefore unable to have dinner. Our room was located on the ground floor in a remote part of the building, accessible only from the outside. This required walking outside in freezing temperatures to reach the room. We had not requested an accessible room, yet one was allocated. The location raised concerns about how room assignments are made, particularly for guests with accessibility needs, given the distance and exposure involved.Overall, the stay did not meet expectations for a luxury hotel, and we did not feel adequately accommodated. As a result, we would not choose to return.
We loved everything about the property, the heated pool, amazing breakfast, great staff, and overall comfort made our stay wonderful.
The only downside was the Turkish bath, where the water needed changing. There was a noticeable odor, which disappeared once the water was replaced on our last day.
Breakfast was good and rich, the staff were very nice and helpful, the location was convenient for walking around the city and to explore outer areas. We loved that the minibar is included in the room fee and everything gets refilled twice a day. The dinner at the restaurant was good but a bit expensive.
The spa could be better. Also, when we got to the hotel we found out that guests that booked through booking.com have to pay for the parking (€20 a day) while other guests don’t.
The location, the rooms
The pool outside was not 31 C, as we have been told, but was cooler
Location is ideal. Ten minute walk or drive to sites. The rooms are modern and spacious and well-equipped with exceptional bathrooms and amenities. The breakfast is superb, a vast selection with many high-quality, local, fresh choices. The pool and sauna are top notch experiences. But the star of the show is the wonderful staff who made our stay memorable with warm hospitality and service! Definitely will return!
Great service and friendly, well-prepared staff. Beautiful property, excellent spa, and a spacious, cozy room.
Overall, a great stay. Just a couple of notes. The avocado toast at breakfast was a bit underwhelming, especially given the extra charge. Our room was near the stairs by the entrance, where there’s a speaker playing music in the hallway all night. The room door is fairly soundproof, but we could still hear it and woke up at one point wondering where the music was coming from. The parking fee was a bit of a surprise, but understandable given how close the hotel is to the center.

Very friendly staff + excellent service + great dining facilities including breakfast + zen-like spacious, comfortable, well-designed rooms with great views of the Dolomites.
The property and location was lovely.
We had a disappointing experience at dinner. The restaurant was under staffed which and we had to wait for a very long time for each service and the bill. Also, almost every service was puréed.
Everything. From the beautiful facade, to the incredibly beautiful entrance to reception, from the helpful and friendly reception staff to the brilliant bar staff, nothing can top this place. It is in a very good location, the drinks and breakfast were brilliant, the rooms are wonderful. Definitely the most comfortable bed and pillows we have ever had the luxury of staying in. Beautiful views from the window to the mountains and cable car above. If you are ever wondering "will it be worth it?" It absolutely will, and it will exceed your expectations.
Very stylish in an very nicely renovated castle.
The noise the housekeeping carts are making at 8:00 am on the corridors.
Amazing location, facilities, venue, rooms, staff. Came off a multiday hike in the Dolomites and so happy we booked this place. Spa was great, very well looked after! Beautiful venue!
