    Pros +

    • All of it, charming, clean, staff and saunas!
    • Wonderful stay with an exceptional family. Though buses are close a car helped. Great selection at breakfast. Loved the room! Architecture fed my soul!
    • It was close to where I needed to be, so it was very convenient. It is also located in a beautiful area with big “rock” behind it, giving a spectacular view. The staff are great with communication, and I was able to request transportation arrangements before my arrival, even though I did not need it in the end. The family-owned business made the stay more intimate and individualized. The breakfast buffet was just incredible. I loved the comfy design and warm welcoming feeling of the age-old structure. The free day access pass provided after check out proved very useful (thank you, Christian!).

    Cons -

    • Not much to say. Perhaps that I felt my bathroom was so close to the main road? Or that I wish the squeeze bottles for the bodywash and shampoos provided were easier to handle (sensors?). Otherwise it was really a wonderful, relaxing stay. I was sad I did not get to see the spa facility (not yet open), and I really wish it was more affordable so I could stay longer next time.
    • Bolzano city centre is not walking distance. Anyways you have public transport access near the Hotel. Or you can rent a bike, bycicle or car.
    • Nothing was wrong during our stay.

We were there by far more than 3 days and not really for turism. The hotel staff were so nice to us for the whole period that made us feel like home. The lady owner, she is a force of nature, she is always finding solutions and very accomodating. All the team working at the hotel are very helpful. The room was clean, silent and confortable. Breakfast buffet is everyday excellent, with sweet and salty options. The garden/lounge is a very nice area to chill after a long day in the hot Bolzano. Bar is open until 22:00 everynight. Restaurant is not active anymore, but there are several good options in the surrounding. The hotel has a covered parking included in the room rate. Wellness centre is also available even if we did not use it.

Nothing was wrong during our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, always making us feel welcome. The breakfasts were delicious, and the coffee was excellent. We especially loved the beautiful garden and the friendly cats that made the atmosphere even more charming. A perfect place to relax.

Good location if you want to be close to the highway, of course not if you want to be in the city centre. Good private parking, acceptable breakfast, comfortable room.

Very rude owners, from reception onward. The worst was that I mistakenly thought I had paid through booking and with nobody at the reception I went away. Then as my card was charged twice I called to understand what happened and I gently asked if they could check their bank account to see if they had a double payment The result was that I was repeatedly insulted both on the phone and by mail and I was told that the problem was that people book through booking (no idea how else I would have found this hotel easily. Besides, they’re not obliged to appear in booking.com, probably there are some advantages) They even threatened me to go to the police because I hadn’t paid Tassa di soggiorno (5€ versus 185 of the double payment….). After one month I finally solved the issue through my bank that credited me back one of the payments (and at that point I paid the 5€ tax) but I won’t go back to the hotel although I had considered to.

Clean, friendly hosts, excellent breakfast! Sauna was an added bonus

Hot tub didn’t work, price was on the expensive side

Room help from staff member for my granddaughter

Confusion on number of guests was frustrating. I did my search on Booking.com and selected 2 adults and 1 child and upon arrival was told the room could not accommodate 3 people - I believe this confusion was Booking.com error - not the hotel ; the staff person at the hotel took charge and opened the sofa bed to accommodate my granddaughter- however the front desk was confused and challenged my booking as an error on my part -

The welcome, friendship and exceptional service provided by the owners. The choice of breakfast items. The quietness of the roomThe pleasant attitudes of the cleaning staff

Chairs at the breakfast table were too low for me!

The lady on reception and secure underground car park.

The location is awful right in industrial area and the Air Con did not work making sleep unbearable.

    8IlariaPosted on: 7-20-2025

I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Lewald. The location in the southern part of Bolzano is convenient, especially if you’re traveling by car—being able to move around independently was a real plus. The underground garage was a great feature, safe and easy to access. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a well-equipped and equally spacious bathroom. Breakfast was discreet but of good quality—limited options, but everything fresh and well-prepared.I particularly enjoyed the garden area, ideal for sunbathing, and the outdoor swimming pool, which is not in-ground but an above-ground structure—still a pleasant spot to cool off. The hydromassage area next to it was a lovely addition—relaxing and well maintained.I didn’t use the spa as it follows a nudist policy, which is not within my habits, but everything else made for a very comfortable and relaxing stay.

    Comfortable bed, quiet, air conditioned.

    All was great

    5DevoraPosted on: 7-14-2025

The owners of the hotel are absolutely lovely and genuinely eager to help with anything you need. The hotel itself is very basic but clean, and the rooms are spacious. There’s also an underground parking garage, which is super convenient, and the location allows easy access to surrounding areas without having to drive through the city center.

The hotel is not what you see in the pictures. It’s located on a regular suburban street across from a cemetery, not at all the charming, countryside vibe the photos suggest. We stayed in the renovated part of the hotel, but the air conditioning in our room was very weak and made constant water-like noises. We reported it after the first night, but it was never fixed. In my personal opinion, if you’re planning to explore the area, you’re better off staying in a nice B&B or guesthouse in one of the nearby villages. The town itself isn’t particularly interesting and doesn't really offer much in terms of atmosphere or charm

Perfect restaurant in the suburb of Bolzano, 2 mins from bus station. Very convenient for transportation. Hotel supplies the Guest Pass with free transportation to most of the destinations amongst the regions. The sauna at the basement is also very relaxing. Very helpful staff, support quickly for any of the guests needs or requests.

Hotel is close to the road, if your the room window is facing the road, it can be a nit noisy.

Excellent facilities, friendly staff that go out of their way to help and look after you, beautiful view of the mountains from many rooms, great buffet breakfast in the mornings with everything you need, plus they given you a travel ticket when you check in to use on buses, trains and cable cars in Bolzano and up to the mountains for the duration of your stay which was an unexpected bonus!

    No negatives!

    8WilliamPosted on: 6-20-2025

Room was really great. Breakfast was good. Parking was underneath.

No restaurant and pool was above ground. Far from centre but free bus pass and ride was ok.

    8SteenPosted on: 6-10-2025

Friendly and nice with at basement parking. The garden and the rooms were nice and comfortable

It was very noisy. It is close to an airport and a trafficked road.
