Tresa Bay Hotel - Lake Lugano

We were upgraded to a superior room with a great balcony overlooking the lake. Excellent breakfast in a room again overlooking the lake. Nice touch that booking a participating hotel includes the local transit pass (Ticino) which gives free travel on the local train travel and discounts for things like the funicular to the San Salvatore summit.

I made a mistake thinking the property was across the street from the main train station in Lugano. Yes a train is across the street but it is the local S10 back and forth from Lugano and is a 25minute trip.

The location between the train station and the lake is outstanding! The staff is welcoming and helpful. Rooms are spacious but not all have air conditioning. Rooms are clean with amenities. Dogs are welcome even in the restaurant. Parking onsite for a fee. Restaurant has a waterfront view and the food was well-prepared. Outside terrace is wonderful for relaxing or drinks.

Hotel is slightly dated.

Convenient ,just cross the street you can find the hotel from the train station.Clean,the room is big and clean.Staff,friendly and helpful Really enjoyed my stay at Tresa Bay Hotelthank you !

The location and the service

Not comfortable pillows, quite loud music at the restaurant and continuous noise heard in the room. I thought it was the airconditioner but was not

Busy road, did get quieter at night.

We stayed at Teresa Bay Hotel on a long drive to the Italian coast from the UK. We arrived tired and weary and left refreshed. The view from our superior room over the lake was stunning. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was huge and hot water was plentiful. We used the hotel parking for a small fee. The restaurant also overlooked the lake, so we had a couple of wonderful meals served by really friendly staff.The hotel is a really good base for exploring the area. I highly recommend it.

The pillows were like empty bags of fluff.

Very friendly staff, room very nice, spacious with lake view, clean, convenient and wonderful location.

Just the shower curtain which always sticked to the body while showering but its just a small thing.

We had a room that was not yet renovated. Bathroom was dated. WouldChoose superior renovated room next time.

Beautiful view across the lake, likeside property, very close to Ponte Tresa market on Saturday which was the reason for our stay. Great chairs on the large balcony perfect for absorbing some sun in Autumn! The hotel is located less than 100 m from the train station which connects to Lugano in 30 minutes.

Not a fault of the hotel but the walk towards Caslano is not very attractive along the busy road, also the hotel is located right on the lake (wonderful!) but with a busy road along the back of the premises which is fairly loud when sitting outside. Having said that, the windows shut tight so noise is not an issue when indoors and the windows are closed.

I would like a lounge for drinks during the day. As there is not much to do around the town it would be nice if the hotel made this service.

The property was easy to access with ample outside parking upon arrival. Check in was easy and very informative. The room we were staying in was newly renovated in a modern and clean decor, really homely with beautiful views across the lake. Balconies are very large with ample space to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The staff were beyond helpful and couldn’t do enough to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable, friendly and welcoming. The food at the restaurant was of a very high standard, highly recommend if you’re a foodie!! Yum!

There wasn’t anything not to like! A gem of a hotel right on the shore of the lake!

The hotel is located 1 min from the railway station, which makes arrival, traveling around Ticino and departing really easy. Also there are two elevators which were a huge relief for my grandma. The rooms have an incredible view over a part of Luganos lake!!! Even home office was a joy with this particular view! The breakfast buffet was very delicious. So were the dinners.The staff was were very welcoming and friendly! Three generations spend a wonderful long weekend here and all of us are re-energized :)
