Acquarello Swiss Quality Hotel

Staff is friendly and kind, rooms are very clean. Location is INCREDIBLE and extremely easy to get to!!

If a window is cracked open slightly, you can hear the funicular. (If the A/C is on and the windows are closed, you will be fine!)

Great attention to detail and very helpful staff, lovely facilities including sauna, solarium and bar. Right next to the funicula to the train station and the city and lake a few minutes walk away.

My husband has limited walking abilities so we loved the fact that we could get on the funicular from the train station then walk about 50 feet to the hotel. Location is a big plus.

The noise coming from the outside from the funicular and the people going in/ out of it.The bathroom is very small and the toilet is very close to the sink. I wish I paid the fee of the room already included the city tax and I wish that there was the possibility as a single person with a dog to be offered a single room (and pay for a single room, with the dog fee on top)

Excellent hotel with an unbeatable location as per its closeness to downtown and free funicular to the train station. Rooms are quite good and breakfast was top notch. Very nice staff.

This hotel was extremely convenient to the train station, via the funicular, and the center of town on Lake Lugano. My room had a view of the courtyard with the funicular; the view wasn't the most spectacular, but I was fascinated to watch the funicular arrive and depart at various times during the day.

This hotel did not have free left luggage; instead, they offered paid lockers.

Excellent location. Basic room, but clean and comfortable . Staff was fantastic. We had a last minute change in plans and had less people than expected. The hotel worked with me to adjust the room and price accordingly.

We had a wonderful stay at Aquarillo Hotel in Lugano. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Sabrina, the receptionist, who was exceptionally kind and helpful. She provided us with all the information we needed and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.Our room was spacious, modern, and very well equipped. We required two separate beds, and it was simple to arrange them to our convenience. All of the hotel’s facilities were excellent and well maintained.Since we had to leave early in the morning, Sabrina thoughtfully prepared packed breakfasts for us to take on the way — a gesture we greatly appreciated.The hotel’s location is also excellent: reaching the railway station was easy with the nearby shuttle cabin, and there are many good restaurants within walking distance in the center of Lugano.Overall, Aquarillo Hotel exceeded our expectations, and a special thanks goes to Sabrina for her kindness and professionalism. Highly recommended!

Hotel is old and needs an update

Perfect location if you travel by train. Also, the perfect location, situated in the center of Lugano. BEST breakfast of all the hotels we stayed in on this trip.

A/C was not cooling enough but was working and the temperature was shown . Inside the room will feel hot

The location is very handy being right by the funicular. I went for a larger room as it was further away from the funicular and I couldn't hear it. Breakfast is ok but not a large choice. The hotel has a small lift.

The staff go home at 11pm but your key activates the outside door entry system . Plus the staff gave me the code in case of problems. But not the hotel if you need full service.

Clean room and great location

Air conditioner didn’t real work well, the pillows were terrible, the bed was not comfortable at all and I could barely sleep because the room was so hot.

The location is relatively convenient. It's *right* next to the funicular for lugano central station. The HVAC was amazing and the bed was comfortable. The restroom was one of the better layouts. They had lots of free value adds. Breakfast was one of the better ones. Less than 10 minutes alking distance to basically everything you could need.

It's very hard to find the first time. It's hidden behind some shrubbery in a shopping center behind the funicular. If you just blindly follow Google maps you'll have a hard time. Also if you don't know about the funicular it's a very long walk from the central station.
