- The location was great. The restaurant downstairs was amazing!
- Nice location.
- A hotel is in on lake with the ancient building. Staff is extraordinary especially the lady in reception she waited for us to come and took care of our small dogs and left her parking space in front of hotel. They have fish restaurant on lake terrace, the rooms are quite spatious, clean and comfortable.
Cons -
- Had to do paid parking nearby & feed the meter every couple hours
- No one available at the desk at time of 2:00 pm check in. Breakfast was ok. Our electricity in the room went out twice with no attempted apology or adjustment from the manager. Had to call maintenance to fix the fuse box. Pretty upsetting .
- The parking is a public parking that nobody know how it work. And if you find any space. Is not a reserved parking or area that guarantee it.

Location, friendly staff
Tiny, uncomfortable room that could not really be used due to low ceilings. Very limited breakfast selection.
Wonderful location for our stop over. Staff were friendly and very helpful and the food was very good and to our liking. Wish could have stayed longer but will stop on our next trip through Italy.
Perfectly placed for a nights stopover, just off the motorway and on the lake. The restaurant was excellent and we ate the best risotto we have ever had, albeit quite expensive.
The room was a little old and tired
Beautiful location overlooking the lake and easy to find off the motorway.
Very expensive for what you get, bedroom which had view of the lake was very tired, bathroom was probably installed in the 60/70, also the bed really does need a update.
Location on the lake was beautiful, quaint little village, excellent breakfast buffet, friendly staff, very good restaurant, comfortable bed
Pricey, aircon in our family room in attic wasnt great, though the views were wonderful. Bathroom is rather dated but adequate
Restaurant was fine and unfortunately I felt sick for 2 days after eating here. I had much better meals in surrounding areas. The lake view is nice and the atmosphere minus the ads on the music streaming was enjoyable.
For the price point, I was displeased. This is mostly a restaurant that has a few rooms. My room had a out dated bathroom with children's stickers on the bathroom wall and cracks in the sink that were taped together. A/C was loud the whole time it was on. There was a pool in the hotel pictures, but the hotel does not have a pool. This is a public pool next door that has an entrance fee and a fee to rent chairs and shade. It also lists there is parking, but it is a public parking lot that is far away and metered. A waiter checked us into the hotel and nobody is there after the hotel closes. So, if you are locked out, there's nothing you can do. I stayed in much better hotels close by at a similar price point. I've never left a bad review for a place but felt I needed to for this one. I tried to keep a good attitude and it was also made difficult as the majority of the staff was quite rude. There was 1 nice person on the staff though which made a difference. It felt like the hotel was an extra to their restaurant and they were over worked or something trying to sort that out in addition to food service. Sorry, but if you're considering staying here, please look elsewhere.
Very nice staff, beautiful view and location, very nice restaurant
Parking is on top and not easy to find in high season, but the staff is helpful
Just a perfect location next time to the lake. Beautiful views. Very good restaurant and lovely staff.Dog friendly.Multilingual staff.
As it was just an over night stop we booked a small room. Would not recommend to do that. The bathroom needs renovation, the shower is so small my husband didn't fit in. The room is in the attic and only has a small roof window. It was very hot to sleep and the AC was very loud and insufficient. And we couldn't leave the window opened through the night because of the announced rain. Had a really bad night sleep.Would recommend to book a bigger room.
It was a very bad experience where the receptionist received us by investigating the children and asking them about their ages and names and matching each child with the passport due to the lack of trust in hotel guests. The condition of the rooms was dilapidated and the bathrooms had no locks and the door keys were from the Stone Age. The air conditioning was very small and did not cover the room, so the hotel staff asked not to change the temperature below 24 degrees, which made the room hot all the time. The breakfast was also bad and did not contain a variety of items. In short, this hotel does not deserve one star.
amazing staff and hotel and the view was so beautiful i had such a lovely stay.
the parking was difficult next to the hotel as it was sunny, so many people wanted to visit the lido near the hotel. would advise to park at the melide station and walk fifteen minutes, if you have driven there.
Excellent location, very beautiful area, good parking.
Very limited breakfast variety and no hot food for breakfast.
The location of the small hotel was just perfect, right on the edge of the lake. There are a few small bars near the hotel but the hotel has an excellent restaurant, although the restaurant was quite expensive, but maybe just Switzerland prices. The rooms were a tiny bid old fashioned but had character nevertheless.
Not much to not like.
This Hotel is on a beautiful spot by the water and the views are amazing. The food at the restaurant was excellent.
Location-Very close to A2 motorway which is perfect en route to Italy from U.K. right on lake in cute small town too.Restaurant-good home style food & excellent wine list. Couple of veggie options. Staff v good.Quaint old building/facilities so if you want new/modern this isn’t for you. Has character.
Room-took last available room as last minute booking-family room in eaves of roof so lots of ducking down! AC unit old/noisy & noise from m/way heard. But it was fine for one night. Parking-pot luck if you get a space (we did!).
This hotel was one of two I selected for overnight stops whilst driving from central Italy back to the UK. It has very easy access to and from the main highway. Bissone is a pleasant little town on the southern edge of lake Lugano and Albergo Ristorante La Palma has a terrace right on the shore-line with attractive views. All hotel / restaurant staff were super friendly and helpful and multi-lingual. The restaurant has a good menu and good wines. It is expensive but I wasn't looking to eat elsewhere after a long drive. Metered parking is available off the street directly outside the hotel. My room had a Juliet balcony with views over the lake and the street.
Very friendly staff Nice dinnerBreakfast outsideA hotel stay like it used to be - in the good way
Parking isn’t easyNot cheap but then again it’s Switzerland
