Pros +
- Very friendly staff, delicious dinner meals and good wine selection. Central location and easy walking distance to the train station and they lent me an umbrella when it was raining.
- I loved staying at Hotel du Pont. The hotel is right in the centre of town next to a rushing stream. It's a classic traditional Swiss town hotel. Dinner in the restaurant was wonderful (I had the venison) and the restaurant, obviously a favorite for locals as well as guests, is a bustling, happy place for dinner. Breakfast the next morning was personally laid out for me - again the breakfast room had a pleasant 'buzz' to it. My room overlooked one of the main streets in town, ideally situated. I was on a bicycle trip and they let me store my bike inside next to the restaurant- very convenient.
- Location was great. Walk to everything.
Cons -
- Breakfast was good and served by very friendly staff. Since I stayed for 10 days, it was the same each day, it would have been nice to offer some variety. For example, a yogurt, cereal or muesli.
- I can't think of anything I didn't like about the hotel.
- One night there was music nextdoor, but not too late.

The owners and staff at Hotel du Pont could not have been any friendlier. Everyone was nice, cheerful, and helpful. The room was spacious with great views. Nothing better than waking up in the morning and looking out the window to see a beautiful mountain. The hotel has a long history, yet it has been maintained extremely well.Breakfast was traditional and good. We also ate in the restaurant, and it was delicious and reasonably priced.Great location, great staff, great room, and great food. I highly recommend the Hotel du Pont.
Perfect location in the town centre. All the staff are really nice, except one old guy on the night shift. Not much choice for breakfast but very good quality. The hotel is rated 3 stars but my room was at least 4 stars. Amazing bathtub with massage, really big bathroom and a long balcony. Surprised by the quality.
Pillows. Should get better pillows. Everything was really good except the pillows!
Staff, cleanliness, comfort, breakfast, location, montain view. Incredibly nice people working there!
No problem at all. Everything was great.
Location is very near the Brig main train station ( 5 min walk), with supermarkets and pharmacy within walking distance. Room was extremely clean. I was able to organize a late checkout at 14:00, which really helped when travelling with a young child. They are a family run hotel, and are very flexible. They even allowed me to store some food items that I was travelling with in their fridge. We dined there for dinner as well. Cordon bleu- highly recommend! They operate on a very relaxed, trust based system, which is so rare these days in the hotel industry. I returned to stay again. We can't wait to come back, and hopefully see how much Rowan has grown :)
Excellent location, excellent service, excellent restaurant , a great choice . Great spacious room and bathroom .
It is very clean, breakfast included too which was so good. It is in the center, railway station is close and all employees are great and kind.
Well located, though possible noisy at front. Large compfortable room. Excellant restuarant with good attentive service and a warm welcome.
Minor point the hot water was only warm.
The hotel and staff are great
Down below in the plaza is a bar that plays live music. The night we stayed they had a band with hard driving drums that shook our room until 2 AM. There were also people outside signing loudly. Absolutely miserable night
Nice location and had a great view from my room. Friendly owners and a hassle-free stay. Location is nice and central in the town of Brig in the city centre, about a 5-10 minute walk away from the main station.
The furniture in the room is definitely a bit old and worn (but comfortable). I would have preferred a buffet breakfast instead of the provided one-person-set-at-the-table, the portions are large enough but would have liked to pick out what I wanted/needed instead. Right now it is either wasteful or some guests are provided anothers rejects.
Super central, incredibly clean, very welcoming, flexible with our checkout time.
Superb location, clean room
breakfast is much more to be desired, there were just a few pieces of cheese and sausages served. Last day of my stay I was asked to pay the bill before 10.00 a.m. according to their rules, which I had no clue about ?♀️
Very cosy hotel with friendly staff and a great location.
A lovely, traditional, family-run hotel and where it is, Brig, is beautiful with excellent amenities and attractions for visitors. The hotel is a short walk from the railway station and next to the bridge over the Saltina, a torrent which roars down from the mountains. The room was large and well furnished, with a very comfortable bed and windows (which have shutters) which you can open properly, and the bathroom was recently installed and spotlessly clean. The breakfast is good and generous, although a bit more variety would be welcome. The hotel's own restaurant offers top-quality dining, indoors or on a pleasant terrace outside. The Wi-Fi is secured with a password.
The only thing not to like is that the towels are changed every day, even when it's not necessary.
Excellent location in the center of town without the noise. Family run hotel with friendly staff, very good food and service. Really happy with the experience.
Very good breakfast. Great hotel, Great bathroom with a fantastic Jacuzzi. Lovely people. It's a great location to see the town. Nice patio for lunch or dinner.
Can't think of any thing.
The staff and central location
We stayed on a Sat night and it was very noisy in the square outside until 2 a.m.
Staff were phenomenal. Breakfast was as expected for a Swiss breakfast (breads, preserves, meat, cheese, juice) but sizable. The bathroom and bedroom were both clean.
It was difficult to find the entrance to the property as it is both a restaurant and a hotel. This should be better noted on their website. Additionally, the shower was getting a bit dated and will soon be in need of a replacement or upkeep (it was still fully functional though).
