Mercure Rouen Centre Champ de Mars

Convenience of restaurant and bar on site.

Location is not great and it is a little hard to find, but once you are there it is a reasonable hotel. Parking structure is comical 'Western' theme, dirty and challenging.

I liked the EV charger in the parking

The room and overall design show that Mercure doesn’t know whether it wants to be an upcycled IBIS Basic or a wannabe mid level hotel. The bathroom had a fresh coat of paint over the existing tiles, but kept the ceiling tiles that are reminiscent of the worst seventies hotels.

The entrance from the garage to the lift was noisy, the doors were heavy and it was a bit daunting

There was supposed to be a restaurant open but all they had to offer was a cold plate selection with no choice at a rather high price. We ended up at a Carrefour since most other places were closed as well. The car park pay machine only accepted credit cards and not debit cards so I had to pay a currency transaction fee - not acceptable.

Booking and the hotel literally...

I asked for a refund and they denied. It was all a scam. You contact them and they completely ignore you.

Good location/parking, very large comfortable bed, great breakfast, room clean and spotless modern bathroom. Staff very helpful. Thanks Yassim(?)

My wife could have done with a few more basic amenities, ie shower cap/towel rail, glass not paper cups, tea/milk etc.

Lovely location along the river. Within walking distance to all sites of interest. Great size room and no road noise with the double glazed windows.

Comfortable beds and bedding. Nice toiletries. Easy access from road.

Easy parking

Restaurant was disgraceful. Even the manager agreed and did not charge for the meal. Which was as it should be since it was inedible.

Clean, comfortable and good location for the city centre.

Family room quite dark as the window opened onto the indoor car park.

Spacious room but not much furniture to put anything if you stay more than couple of days.

Smelly carpet in the corridor. No lounge and guest often were sitting in the corridor next to the entrance in the evening. Outdoor area neglected. It’s maximum 3 stars hotel, like Ibis next door. Bath was dirty- see pictures We travelled with small dog and paid £15 for the night - no treats or extra blanket provided ( we do travel with all of that of course) but still for 4 stars there is expectation based on the stays in other 4 stars hotels on that trip

Our Room was a good size, clean and had a large comfortable bed - the bathroom was also of a good size and very clean. We were located near the lift which made taking our dogs outside for toilet breaks more convenient. The Buffet Breakfast was exceptional, well stocked with everything we needed, possibly one of the best buffet breakfasts we’ve experienced. A Dog Friendly Hotel which we appreciated very much.

We expected the Hotel to be a little closer to the Old Town than it is, it’s Only a 15 minute walk away, an easy walk, but we would have preferred less of a trek / more convenient location. Also Our Room was directly under Reception which meant we could hear chairs scraping along the floor above Us, this may be inconvenient to some guests. Beyond these 2 little Niggles everything else was faultless.

Very good ,plenty of choice .Tea bags ,make your own was something new to me,very good.

First receptionist ,we arrived late and she asked for a deposit which was greater than our booking price.Judith receptionist in the morning was excellent and rectified the problem.

Courteous staff, comfortable sleep arrangements, spacious rooms, CARINE excellent staff member.

Sometimes not all breakfast items are available.

The parking was very tight to get into and out of.The breakfast was good and had an excellent selection.

I was disappointed that the water supply failed, and I could not have a hot shower in the morning.I believe it would have been worthwhile for someone to offer a refund or some reduction.

Room only had one window so so little but dark.

Basic amenities like a dental kit, shaving kit, and an iron box were missing. Other Mercure properties we stayed at had these. This was a little disappointment

Room was fine, though shower water temp kept going hot and cold. Expensive parking, and extremely narrow passages to drive through in the car park.

Very poor signage to Mercure hotel. Not at all clear that IBIS and Mercure share reception, parking, restaurants etc

The room was clean and had the facilities we needed for our one night stay.The location of the hotel was perfect for finding other dining places at night time and visiting Rouen during the day.

My husband is a celiac meaning that he has to eat gluten free food which was not available at breakfast time . We have been to other hotels where gluten free bread would be made offered to him but none of this was an option to him at the Mercure hotel. Also we came with a BM5 5 series car and the parking spaces were very narrow and coming out the hotel was a challenge because of this .

Staff very friendly and could speak English nicely, rooms very comfortable and clean, good value for the price. Lovely atmosphere! They also have private parking. And very close to cathedral.

That we couldn't stay longer!
