Sure Hotel by Best Western Angouleme

Everything, the photos show view from bedroom window also hotel was difficult to find because of poor signage, hard to believe this hotel is under the banner of best western more like worst western very expensive?????

Easy to find on the outskirts of Angouleme and convenient paking near hotel. The room had everything required for an overnight stay and was acceptable for the price. Despite it being by a busy road It was quiet. Communication about our stay was good.

There was an electric heater that clicked all night. The bed was comfortable but small for a double. There were no plug sockets by the bed for charging phones.

Breakfast room was nicely decorated with a choice of most of the usual things you would want but no hot food except toast. Coffee was good. The shop underneath was great. Garden space was good. Bathroom was nice.

The room decor was very tired including the toilet and the room was also very cold when we arrived in the afternoon. By the time we went to bed after going out for the evening it was bearable. The bed was very very comfortable so sleep was very good. The lift stopped working at some point in the night so we had to use the stairs in the morning gor breakfast including carrying bags down from the 3rd floor for our check out.

I chose the hotel for it's ease of access to the motorway heading south. The hotel was comfortable and undergoing some renovations, so not quite as good as it looked on the website.

There was no-one on reception when we arrived but we had been given the access code. It's always nice to be greeted by a friendly face though. Unfortunately no breakfast could be provided due to a problem but the tabac next door served wonderful coffee and pastries.

Property good, but website misleading. Quite a long walk from centre of town

Ideal location on the edge of town but within walking distance of this beautiful city. Close enough to travel into twice / three times each day. Excellent breakfast and we accidentally managed to coincide with the Angouleme Circuit Des Ramparts !

It's quite OK for an overnight stop. They have some parking behind the building; you should find a space if you don't arrive too late. "English spoken here" said a sign at the reception, but it wasn't. Staff were helpful enough, though, and we had enough French to get by. We noticed that the sign had disappeared later.

Getting out of the lift on our floor, the doors closed behind us and we were enveloped in pitch blackness. Comical scenes resulted as we groped along the walls looking for something, anything, to give us light. In the end, we stumbled on the lift button again, and its light let us find the light switches. There were at least three of them, all with internal illumination which had failed. This is a safety issue, which the hotel should fix urgently.

Comfy bed, pleasant staff and a good breakfast. We were later arriving than planned and liked that the management sent a message about how to access the hotel if main door locked. Also next to the amusing O Buffet restaurant with robot waiters!

Renovations taking place in corridor which gave a negative impression as we approached our room, but room was nice with plenty of space.

Location was good next to a park and river. Staff were friendly. Clean room.

No one on reception when we arrived and the welcome email with the door code hit my phone at 9 pm that day.

The lady who welcomed us was wonderful. Very helpful, very pleasant.

Finding the parking was a little difficult as not very clearly signposted. However, after stopping in a small area towards the side of the hotel, discovered that this was OK to remain. It was an inconvenience more than anything as my husband is a wheelchair user.

Room I booked was a superior didn’t feel it was, no cups only paper ones for tea /coffee and no milk to put in it. Yes it was a 3* but tbh it was just somewhere to put your head on an overnight stop.

Very helpful receptionist. Language a barrier but along with google translate she assisted organising taxis and sorting train changes.Location was near the pretty river so was nice to stroll along.

Clean comfortable great location walk to city centre. Staff helpful- basic price reflects but good for our overnight stay. On a main road could hamper those who sleep lightly.

Room on the main street. Very busy and motorbikes revving up below the window.A hand towel would not cost too much and would make a real difference.
