Pros +
- The perfect stay- room was gorgeous on a quiet floor. It felt very private and relaxed. Room was beautifully decorated with attention to detail in decor. The bath had a sizable tub and heated towel racks. Staff was courteous and helpful.
- It is the premier location in the city
- Great location in the city centre, with ready access to a public underground parking garage. The staff suggested a change of room to avoid a noisy event on the square and were uniformly very pleasant.
Cons -
- Everything was great- wish I would have had the chance to eat dinner in the restaurant, as it looked amazing.
- breakfast is ok, not Marriott class, however
- The bathroom was immaculate and well lit, but the combined shower and bath is impractical — no curtain, so water all over the floor, and the sloping ceiling made it impossible to stand under the shower anyway. Quaint bathrooms were a staple of French hotels in the 20th century — 21st century luxury hotel rooms demand a functional shower. Also, we failed to find a safe in the room. Again, unacceptable in a hotel of this ambition…

Such a lovely room and wonderful breakfast. We could see the Cathedral from our window. The Spa was a treat.
The service at the front desk and valet. The beds were very comfy, had a safe in the room, and tub. The proximity to the cathedral.
It was not really a dislike but not having access to the spa as it was all booked was a disappointment.
Beautiful quiet spacious room
Loved everything
Central position, very comfortable, great staff
The room was exceptionally well appointed and comfortable. We choose this hotel due to its proximity to the Cathedral and it was perfect. .
The only issue that was negative was lack of parking and no way to to pull the car up to load and unload passengers and luggage. All must be brought to the hotel across street & sidewalk
This is a truly delightful hotel. Our room was spacious and well-appointed. The staff is highly-trained, engaging, discreet, and gracious -- from the Front Desk Manager, to the concierge, to the valet, to the wait staff, to the bartender, to the housekeeper. The hotel's bar is intimate and comfortable. Our dinner in Brasserie La Cour was exceptional!
Everything was perfect.
Well located, charmingly decorated, with extremely welcoming and helpful staff. Highly recommend.
We always try to stay here when we stop over in Chartres. The location for the town centre is excellent and it's close to the town's underground car park. The staff are particularly nice & helpful. The rooms are well presented and clean. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are quiet. All in a very nice hotel.
Perfect location comfortable beds lovely staff and great bistro.
A charming and elegant hotel in a prime location. We have stayed here many times and always enjoy the experience. Each room is individually decorated in a quintessentially French style and a pre-dinner drink in the Madrigal bar is always a delightful experience. Highly recommended.
This is a traditional charming hotel situated in a prime location in Chartres. The facilities, bar and restaurant represent wonderful value for money, and the staff were welcoming and very helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chartres and seeking a warm relaxing base to enjoy the town and region.
Nothing - everything was above expectation.
It is centrally located, within walking distance of everything we wanted to do and see. The property is comfortable yet elegant and the staff couldn’t have been any nicer or more accommodating. I heartily recommend this hotel to any discerning traveler. It’s a gem!!
Nothing. I loved everything!
The staff are always so very friendly and helpful. Car parking is good. Great location. Thank you. Our second visit and we shall return
All was good

Very comfortable hotel with a good menu and excellent service in the Brasserie.A very good base for visiting Chartres Cathedral.
Pretty old hotel with characterful but comfortable rooms and a great location. Our car was taken away and parked by a valet which was a lovely start to our stay. The bed was comfortable and all the usual mod cons were provided including sockets on either side of the bed. We had a really delicious dinner in the Brasserie waited on by first rate, professional staff who knew what they were doing and gave us plenty of attention without fussing over us. Breakfast in the Brasserie was also good. The bar is lovely - cosy and again, the staff really know what they are doing. The reception staff were all very helpful and my husband enjoyed the spa - €20 to use the basic facilities. All in all we enjoyed our stay.
The electrics in the room require your card key to be placed in the slot by the door. Unfortunately the lights by the door and in the separate toilet switch on automatically by sensor with no switch to turn them off so you risk waking your partner if you get up in the night. Also, if you are in the loo for any length of time they can go out too. A previous guest had spilled food on the chaise longue/sofa which had not been cleaned, and there were one or two other little niggles in the room such as an incorrectly filled soap dispenser that were annoying for such an upscale hotel. Housekeeping needs to pay a little more attention.
Room was good .:.. large bed, 2 sinks ?
The restaurant was really bad ….. meat arrived but nothing else until we had eaten it, and then potatoes were cold. Really disappointing, we were really looking forward to our meal !!
