Location, character of the building, friendliness of staff

After hours access. Located in pedestrian zone, limited parking (I could only find an extremely small spot that was overlooked), difficulty to reach night staff after hours, as outside bell was not operational.

We couldn't be closer to the cathedral. Just wonderful!

In the centre of the city within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the cathedral. Staff were extremely kind.

It was an old monastery. The location was impossible to get to with a car. TERRIBLY DIFFICULT. I DONT KNOW HOW ANYONE MANAGED IT ALONE. Th hotel gave us special assistance.

Location, location, location. You will not find a better situated hotel in Chartres, period. Very accommodating staff and a comfortable bed in a historic building. It's super clean and very quiet. Highly recommended.

Nothing, we loved everything.

The property was smack dab in the center of the city, right next to the cathedral. Our host at reception was very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were tidy and comfortable. Also excellent value for money.

Navigating to the property was a bit difficult on account of bollards restricting access and out of date Google maps. However, this can be figured out with the help of the instructions that are sent in advance of your stay.

We enjoyed the accommodations at Hôtellerie Saint Yves in Chartres. The staff was friendly throughout, especially the desk, which allowed us to check in midday, outside of the official business hours. The room was clean, simple, and quiet, as advertised, facing out on the courtyard of the hotelerie, with great views of the old city and the towers of the Cathedral beyond. With the city and the Cathedral at our doorstep, it made the stay all the more enjoyable. The buffet breakfast was HEAVENLY! The breads, pastries, eggs, cheeses, and cold meats all locally sourced and market fresh.

Hard to get to by car because of construction and road closures in town. Not the fault of the property.

Just a few steps from the magnificent cathedral. Rooms are spartan, but stylish and comfortable (if you like this "parochial albergue style" vibes)

Very nice location right in the heart of the town. Very beautiful.

Incredibly hard to locate. Google maps sends you the wrong way due to the downtown area being a restricted area for vehicles. It took me 5 attempts and an hour to make my way through the gates and 1 ways. In the end I had to drive on a sidewalk to finish the last small amount.

Next to cathedral

Truly obnoxious check-in at 4pm, CHECKOUT 10AM. 6 hour lockout. Considering they are basic monks cell. Basically could not sleep to recover.

Across the street from the cathedral. The manager, Fanny, was very helpful and made some excellent recommendations of places to go. Excellent free breakfast.

Comfortable bed, very clean, wonderful staff, proximity amazing, beautiful view! Overall value for price is very good.

Breakfast, maybe not worth the price, better driving direction tips listed as Google maps doesn't work for getting to the hotel.

The room was clean but very basic. It felt more like a hostel room. Unfortunately it was very hot and no air flow.

The receptionist was the rudest person I've ever encountered in 30 years of travelling to France. My two teens were go smacked at her rudeness with each encounter. Checking in, checking out. We were almost left speechless. When I arrived I said bonjour, I have a reservation for tonight and she looked at me and said , "yes??" "So what". (It was midday) I explained I was not checkin in, but wanted to leave my suitcase. Later when I checked in, firstly she told me to wait after I said bonjour and proceeded to write on a piece of paper for a few minutes. Then she said, "Yes" I told her I was checking in and she gave me my room card. She then looked down and began to write. I waited as she hadn't said , "thank you, that's all I need, or anything to close the conversation instead she looks at me and says, "You want something!" Same when we checked out, I handed her the room key and she looked down writing. I stood there waiting for a "you're done, good to go etc" Nothing. Then she says, "what do you want!" I told her I was waiting for her to let me know that everything was fine for me to leave. She was smarmy and rude and shouldn't be working in the hotel industry.
