    Pros +

    • The Cit'Hotel Le Montreal is located in/near an industrial area. Therefore, it was quiet in the evening as almost all of the working and shopping people had gone home. There are some restaurants and fast-food establishments within walking distance (less than five minutes). Parking was protected on-site at night.Everything was clean and the staff were very interested in making our stay an enjoyable one.The room was small. It did include a small desk where one could do some light work. The bed was nice and comfy. During our stay, we had some hot days. Surprisingly, our room was not baking like I thought it would have been. Interestingly, I did not see any AC vents. Therefore, the breezes that were made from open windows was sufficient.Breakfast was small but ok. It was enough for us to start our day without problem. The pancake machine was enjoyed.
    • Great value for money. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself, although clearly dating from some decades ago, has been refurbished creating a cosy atmosphere.
    • The hotel is very pretty and unique. There was only the desk clerk that we dealt with, but he was friendly and helpful. The room was small but adequate for one night and everything was clean, well maintained and seemed new. I highly recommend it as a great value with excellent facilities for this price range. Secure parking and building access.

    Cons -

    • The bed was not so comfortable
    • There were some difficulties with finding plugs in our room. For all of our reliance on our phones, this meant we had to be judicious in our charging. While breakfast was good, we did run into a small problem with a lack of places to eat in the breakfast room. This was largely due to an event in the surrounding area that brought in a lot of people. While not a problem for us, this hotel is away from the city center. If you want to go there, you need a car or take the public transport. For some, this might be a deal-breaker.
    • No hairdryer and only one socket in main room.

Very convenient location - easy to reach from motorway and not far from centre (30 mins on foot). Large supermarket very close. Very good secure parking. Late check in was easy. Room was simple but ample space for luggage. Kettle in room is very useful. Shower worked well.

No hairdryer and only one socket in main room.

Hard to find. The male receptionist was fantastic. Really helpful and friendly. Good vale for money. Best sleep I have had in a while

    7GoddingPosted on: 3-19-2025

The host is very amenable and, although quite basic, the hotel was exactly as expected. The location is convenient for a stopover and reasonably close to town. Personally, I prefer Troyes to Challons SC.

The location is convenient with local supermarkets and charging stations nearby but it's a little rough. The hotel has good security gates which helped.

Comfy bed, large room, two bathrooms, the staff was lovely and accommodating.

    Location, cold room, poor breakfast

    9KirstyPosted on: 3-2-2025

Friendly welcome, clean, great value and a good breakfast, very quiet room.

Would have liked just a few more items on the tea/coffee tray.

    9ChristinePosted on: 2-17-2025

Friendly, informative staff. Good location. Confortable room. Great value breakfast with good coffee and a pancake machine!

The signposting from the road to the hotel entrance could be improved.

the warm wood decor, it was cosy

I got cold in bed because I don't like to have the heating on but the covers weren't warm enough

We travelled from Calais so the place is easily accessible from the A26/A4 motorways. Checking-in was good and the room on ground floor was quiet and spacious enough for us, with a comfortable bed and facilities for tea/coffee making (shower would be a little cramped for larger people). A door opened onto greenery at the back which is a plus in summer season. We had a short walk to the Italian restaurant nearby, where the food was good.We enjoyed the very varied and copious breakfast as before in the very colourful wooden decor that makes the Montréal special

Friendly receptionist. Good continental breakfast. A good selection of restaurants within walking distance. Secure parking.

Room was a bit spartan with a very small bathroom. The traveller/gypsy site a few 100 yards away had a loud party until 01.30 that kept us awake. Unable to access reception until 4pm on arrival.

    8StevePosted on: 10-18-2024

Attentive and friendly staff. Cleanliness of the hotel good. A good place to stay for a stopover

En-suite rather cramped, only one pillow which was lumpy.

    7MatthewPosted on: 9-18-2024

Good location for a stop travelling through to the South of France.

The last night travelling back the room we booked was taken so had to settle for a last minute room change. Otherwise very hospitable.

    8KrisPosted on: 9-16-2024

Quick and easy check-in. Clean. Ideal for a stopover.

Pillows a bit lumpy. Hotel 40-minute walk from city centre.

    9IgorPosted on: 8-30-2024

clean, quiet and well air-conditioned room with comfotable bed.

Iron which I borrowed was not steaming properly, I recommend to buy a new one.

    10PaulPosted on: 8-26-2024

Very Clean, recently updated to a great standard. Secure parking. Excellent communication with the reception, all at a great price.

We had a very pleasant 1night stop over at Le Montreal. The staff were really nice & friendly. Breakfast was good. Room very clean. My only complaint would be the pillows were poor.

    Friendly staff. Breakfast. Comfy bed
