Pros +
- Excellent location, comfortable room, nice bathroom. Really nice staff, very good restaurant (we tried Bistro only).
- The location was great, within walking distance of all the tourist attractions. We ate in the Bistro restaurant and the dinner was excellent. The lobby bar area was very attractive. The room and bed were comfortable There was a large bathroom with a shower as well as a bathtub. There was a luggage rack as well as a closet. We appreciated that there was a Nespresso machine in our room. There was secure parking available behind the hotel. The breakfast included fruit, eggs, cold cuts, smoked salmon and pastries but there seemed to be a problem with stocking the buffet, see below.
- Very good hotel. Really nice people, clean and excellent food standards.
Cons -
- Returning from a week in the UK, we booked here expecting to have a relaxing evening and a good meal. Unfortunately, our stay was a bit spoiled by the curt and condescending attitude of the staff at the front desk. When we arrived we parked in front of the hotel and went in to inquire about where we should park. The woman at the front desk said that parking in the hotel lot was @11€ per night but that we could park on the street if we wanted. When we managed to sort out how to use the app on the machine in front of the hotel (with her help) we discovered that parking on the street would cost more than 20€ as we had arrived at 3pm. When I told her that street parking was more expensive that their lot, she said curtly, "Well I don't know anything about the parking on the street!" I mentioned that perhaps it would be helpful to their guests if she could better inform them about the parking options. In fact, I think this is a service that clients should be able to expect from any good hotel. She then informed us that our room would not be ready until 4pm and told my husband that we should bring in our luggage in the front door which necessitated carrying our luggage up several steps. After moving our car to the parking lot, we discovered that there is in fact a ramp to the back door which would have been much better for us bringing in our luggage. When we came down in the morning for breakfast, we saw that there were several tables in the nice restaurant area with dirty dishes. We were eventually directed to a table set up for two and the buffet where we discovered there was only one tiny pain au chocolate and three tiny croissants remaining and a small morsel of the pain au graines. On asking a fresh loaf of bread arrived but we were told that there were no more pain au chocolate unless we wanted to wait 15 minutes. I found this totally unacceptable for a hotel of this standard especially as they knew that we would be coming for breakfast.
- No parking on site
- Would have like to be able to make tea in the bedroom.

Great central location. Secure parking with direct access to the hotel. Good bistro in the hotel
No rugs on the cold stone floor and no slippers provided. We had to unplug the television to charge our phones because no accessible electrical sockets
Very comfortable, quiet room with a huge bed. Dogs accepted too. Fabulous evening meal. Friendly & helpful staff. Perfect stop over from Calais. Will definitely return.
Comfortable clean room with nice bathrrom and good quality toiletries. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food and service in the Bistrot. Loved the small but smart bar area too. Would return if going this way again.
The best thing in this hotel is the location. You can’t have better, right in the centre, easy to asses by car, near the cathedral and central pedestrian aria. There is as well a small useful parking at the backyard only for 10 euros per day. The restaurant of the hotel has a Michelin star. If you don’t want fine dining , the other side of this restaurant is actually a gastronomic bistro. My room was pretty nice . Mirror walls and glowing surfaces. Bathroom had both a shower cabin and a nice bath with the mirror walls around as well. I don’t think that all the rooms were the same , but in my “comfort” room #48 it was fun to enjoy my image by all sides .
There is no facilities. No fitness hall, no spa, just a restaurant in the hotel. No tea in the room, just coffee. The floor in the room is plastic, it could be more luxurious, considering the style of this hotel
This is a beautiful, luxurious hotel and restaurant ideally located in a lovely town. I had been walking the 1000+ mile Via Francigena with a backpack; staying and eating here was an indulgent delight. The rooms are beautiful, the restaurant superb.
Close to centre, parking, nice staff, comfy beds
Could hear someone above walking in her heels
Luxurious bathroom, beautifully appointed with both bath and shower.. An excellent hotel with Michelin restaurant and comfortable bsr
The bar was closed due to a function
Bedroom, bathroom all excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Superb location. Very dog friendly. Superb restaurants.
All great
The very helpful staff, particularly those we met on reception, the room itself, the very comfortable bed and the food, dinner and breakfast. We would definitely consider staying again, but in a different room - see below
* We found the stairs in the corridor on going to and from the lift difficult. We are both elderly and use walking sticks, don’t define ourselves as disabled, but those particular stairs were a definite drawback. We mostly used the main staircase rather than the lift because of those particular stairs.* We found the surround of the shower dangerous. On entering and leaving the bathroom we had to try avoid the surround.* It was very slippery when getting out of the shower - the surround was extremely slippery when wet.
Location goodwell-appointed room , deluxe bathroom The bistro was lovely for dinner, we left too early for breakfast
parking opposite costs 20 euros for the night
