Great location, clean and comfortable rooms in an old that beautifully converted old town building.

Staff, friendly and welcoming, but not well-versed in concierge skills. Asked what restaurants were available were told that all were closed on Sunday, only to walk out and find over 100 restaurants full and busy.

Some rooms needed a refresh of paint and some work on the doors and bathrooms. The majority of the rooms are refurbished so we had an older room, but it was beautiful with its design. Nice view out the window towards a quiet street and the garden across the way.Complementary water.

Alexander at afternoon check in and dinner assistance. He is fabulous. For him, the property deserves a five star. He really knows the area, he’s got professionalism with a bit of flair. He helped us by going over and beyond with restaurant assistance especially for our mobility impaired friend and the other with special diet. About 70% of the rooms are renovated so ask for a renovated room if you would like. We had one that was very large and traditional nice decor, but I’m not a fan of carpets.We appreciated the large room, but it definitely needs some touchups with paint and so forth. The bed was not great and probably needs to be flipped or replaced. I’ve slept on worse though so it was fine.Service was great. And the lack of cleanliness was not because of the staff. I think it was more about just needing refurbished in the areas that still need it. They were very kind though and gave me almond milk coffee, which was great The location is fantastic

Needs refurbishment in some areas. They have done a lot of of it, but the area we were in still needs it. Change our mattress Breakfast was OK. For me there wasn’t very much to eat because I am non-dairy and don’t eat animal. I’m also not a big fan of gluten in the morning.

Perfect location for La Rochelle. The staff was spectacular. Extremely helpful.Our room was very nice.

- shower head was broken - air con didn’t work - fan in bathroom didn’t work - added champagne to our bill (which we didn’t have) they had to refund as took payment before giving us the invoice - very disorganised staff

From the name of the hotel, you might think that Spa is included but It operates independently

2 days in beautiful La Rochelle with a retreat in the evenings that was both beautiful and functional. Breakfast offered a good buffet selection, staff were friendly and helpful and the room clean and well appointed.

Excellent location. Secure parking. Friendly reception staff. Comfortable, clean and well equipped bedroom/bathroom, Quiet, Good breakfast. Very helpful manager with a sense of humour when we locked ourselves out of the in-room safe due to jamming too much into it - twice!

Different price per night. We stayed Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and the cost was progressively more each night. It is rather expensive for what it offers even on the cheaper night. But - this is only a minor irritation as the rest of the stay was very good.

Modern, comfortable and clean rooms

Breakfast is not worth the money they charge- plenty of sweet pastries and biscuits, no hot food offerings, the breakfast room was dark and uninviting . We were told we ‘had to be extremely lucky’ to find free parking in the side street. As it happened it wasn’t any problem to find parking slots there at all. The spa access should included in the room price.On the way back we decided to stay at a different hotel in lovely La Rochelle , which was far superior for the same money.
