Pros +
- It is a good property and looks very beautiful outside
- Breakfast was great. Staff friendly. Decor and architecture was eclectic and interesting.
- We do not have so many good things to say here. The hotel has a fantastic collection of ancient art and objects. The castle part of the hotel is wonderful and seems like an open museum—this part we enjoyed. The swimming pool is great, as is the jacuzzi. The special rooms available in the castle were comfy and enjoyable. But the good part stops here.
Cons -
- My room was in the fourth level and there is no elevator. It was very bad.
- When we arrived, our premium room had a musty smell, and water was leaking into the bed nightstand. Very sparse furniture, and very old used room.We asked to change rooms to equivalent, but told only 1 subpar room in the Annex. The manager (never talked to us, only through staff) was reluctant to give a rate difference refund. They finally offered only $100 BR and we have not received it yet.
- Unfortunately, this apparently wonderful castle hotel did not meet our expectations. For the paid value, we expected much more. To start with, we stayed in a hotel extension, a newer portion of the hotel dedicated to rooms only. It would be ok if the installations were good. We had problems in this room: the air conditioning system was on a short circuit, causing noise throughout the night, disturbing our sleep. There was a constant water noise in the pipes above our bathroom. At first, it sounded like a leak from the bathroom in the room above. After 5 days, we realized it was a poor construction design, as water from the other bathroom was running across our bathroom roof. It was very irritating and forced us to use earplugs throughout the night. The water from the taps in our room was yellow, raising concerns about its potability. The pillows were very thin and uncomfortable, and the staff were unable to provide additional ones to make up for it. There were no blackouts in the windows, so the rooms were very bright at night from the parking lot lights. We were forced to use sleep masks. We reported the "leakage" above our room and the noisy air conditioning (it was warm at this time of year) to the staff, who were unable to resolve the problem despite their goodwill. They were unable to change the rooms because the hotel was completely full. They offered staying in another hotel from the National Inn network in Campos do Jordão, but it didn't make sense. The hotel's location and the Castle itself were the main reasons for staying there. Another important detail: it seems there was no senior staff to support customers at this very important (and expensive) time of year, with our due respect to the people there. It seems no manager was running the hotel. In summary, we had a bad experience in the room at this hotel. It was a deception, and we do not expect to return or recommend this hotel.

Staff were very friendly, beautiful place and super clean!
Bed and pillow not comfortable, the spa was just the room and you need to book with company to go over. Ofuro closed in our last day. A bit far from the city.
The hotel itself and the entertainment area
Very bad, bed linen, seems to be very old not tagged in... pillows very hard to sleep on it, felt like a piece of brick...
Decoration
It was dirty we found some dirty socks in my room and it wasn't mine, the bed was hard to sleep
Breakfast was great. The hotel ambiance and staff was great.
Our room airxonditioning didn't work through out our stay and the room was very hot, making it uncomfortable. The staff did provode us with a fan on the last evening.
Facilities
Places to leave the baggage before the check-in was just a small place with no tags to Control the bags
Breakfast was good, variety, fresh, clean.
Price was to high, we stayed at the building next to the castelo.
The pool was nice and warm. Breakfast was decent.
Maintenance is not great. We see many things that needs repair in the castle and rooms. For example, elevator, walls, floor, doors. The mattress was really bad to sleep, gave me a terrible backache. We can see the mattress is bended, it should be replaced months ago, maybe years. Staff gave me a hard time to make a reservation for a crib. In the end, the crib was pretty bad, on the ground, with no mattress, and the baby was going to sleep in blankets in the cold floor. We took our daughter to sleep with us on the bed.
Do Castelo.Da piscina.
O sinal de TV é ruim.
swimming pool was warm and nice
the room was quite cold the the heater was not hot enough to make the room warm. and the door knob of the toilet was broken
The place is really nice and beautiful. The area is really nice too. I liked the idea of the pool inside the building.
The rooms are really really light, you can not sleep well even during the night or take a nap during the day. Has no outlets close to the bed to charge the phones, and the heat is really hot, burn heat, the breakfast looks great, the breads were hard and cold. Also has no windows inside the room, that can enter fresh air, it is a door or the bathroom window. No less important the water in the shower is not easy to make great temperature to shower. I believe this place is great to visit, but not the best to stay.
Location and the castle
Dripping on the room and loud conversations
Service employees were polite
We did not stay in the castle, for our bad surprise the reservation was done in another building beside the castle. This was not specified when we did the reservation. The hotel did not give us any chance to try to fix this situation. The room was really bad, there was not a bathroom, instead it was a place with a toilet and glass door, also a place with a shower and a glass door. Both glass doors did not have keys. Zero privacy when using both spaces inside the room.We could hear everything other guests were talking and also de TV, is was like the TV was in our roomBeside our room (210) there was an entry and we could hear everyone that pass through it, all the timeAir conditioner was above one bed so it was very cool in this bed and hot in the other, we were not able to adjust in a good temperature for all, and also a big noise from the air conditioner time to timeWe book this hotel because our girls with 11 years old, they were happy because we will be in a castle (even the location not good, car is needed for everything). Bad experience at all
