    Cons -

    • The hotel room lacked common amenities. The rooms were clean however it needs to be updated. The hotel does not have an ice machine even when we asked the receptionist who was not very friendly. He seemed bothered by the fact that we asked for ice.
    • Hot tub jets did not work
    • Nothing we did not like. Exceptional stay!

The sauna and hot tub have great views over the fjord. The breakfast had a good selection and even ginger shots. The rooms are minimalist.

Only one towel is provided per guest - a separate towel should be provided for sauna and for bathing. There is no coffee or tea set up in the rooms.

Location is great as base for Trolltunga hiking. Bathroom is very modern and new.

Walls between rooms are very thin, hard to sleep.

A very nice building and a very good location, cooperated with trolltunga adventure. It would be a perfect choice if you hiking with ADVENTURE. The sauna looks nice, breakfast is good which start quite early to fit the hiking schedule. Everything is perfect, except no elevator.

This upscale hotel is a perfect blend of history, culture, art, and elegance, all in harmony with the natural beauty of Odda. Each corner reveals part of its art-historical collection, while every floor offers dedicated workspaces and serene lounges with breathtaking views framed by each window. The grand lobby and dining hall open to scenic vistas, and the sauna invites you to unwind while overlooking mountains and cascading waterfalls.A stay here is more than accommodation—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The hotel is well kept and the staff is great. The breakfast is a good variety and very good. A good, quiet location for visiting the fjord, and it's perfect for hiking Trolltunga.

The dinner was very good, but the selection was minimal. Price was in line with Norway prices.

Great location for Trolltunga hike. Good breakfast buffet and pleasant staff

Aside from Trolltunga hike, there is not much to explore in the immediate area. The only downtown area is Odda several k away, not easily bikable or walkable.

something not talked about enough is the historical nature of this hotel; the artwork in each of the rooms (dining and lounge areas) really represents what this hotel was made for and traditional nature of Norwegian families on holiday. I felt like there were parts of this hotel that brought me back in time. The current amenities were great, and breakfast was the best breakfast that I had in Norway. I wish I could have eaten more.

It was close to Trolltunga. The food was good.

It was a total DUMP!!!! Marketed as an exclusive, boutique hotel!!! It was dirty was and in disrepair. A completely drab, dank hotel that is promoted by false advertising!

Close to industry… but not really a problem as its part of the vibeJacuzzi are always an issue when used by a lot of people. Got nasty at end of day…

    Proximity to Trolltunga

No AC, expensive for what we got

    3CraigPosted on: 7-23-2025

    Breakfast is good.

We were put at the very end of the hall in a sad little room with a window that did not open. They said they were fully booked. I booked this stay months ago. The room got so hot! I propped open the door and the patio door to let in some cool air.

    Nice location

No AC, not very clean, very basic amenities

    6DeanPosted on: 7-15-2025

Location was great to hike Trolltunga.

Hot tub did not open until 5pm. Not good when you return from a 13 mile hike at 3pm. Then they decide to close the hot tub because they drained it right before it was supposed to open. Bad decision! Would be nice if they changed the dinner menu from day to day. Ate the same things twice. Would be nice if the remodeled bathroom had some storage space.

Historic building, on the waterfront, and perfect location to drive up to the Trolltunga trail head. Also, Klaudia was very helpful and accommodating. She answered all of my questions and gave me a short tour of the building and painting collection. She was very knowledgable.
