Pros +
- There was the paradox of it being very African but very chic! Lovely facility
- Great location right outside of Kruger entrance. Great bars and delicious dinner and breakfast buffets. Friendly staff.
- Breakfast had variety however no one attended to me when I sat down with my food from the buffet. I was not offered water or even a hot drink.
Cons -
- I didn't like that we had only planned 24 hours in this wonderful place! Definitely not enough time!
- Poor attention to the guest. I sat at my table while multiple staff members were standing idle looking at their phone or talking to one another.
- Due to a cold front passing by the lapa dining area was cold but the fires that were lit compensated for the weather. It was a bit disappointing that the Deluxe Family Room did not have a standalone shower in the bathroom, instead a shower head in the bath tub was provided. This is below expectations for the price being charged for this room.It was also below our expectations for an establishment at this price level that on the second evening no carvery was served for diner (only chicken and beef ribs).

Great location close to the Kruger gate and on the Sabie river.Breakfast was served in a beautifully decorated location with a great variety of foods on offer. The atmosphere in the boma where diner was served was very nice with the fires, tables arranged under trees and a rich variety buffet served.

My only regret is not staying longer! Beautiful property, amazing food, great safari experience. Rooms were spacious and luxurious. If we ever come back to Kruger, we will definitely book this place for a couple of days.
Very clean. Helpful staff. Lived the situation of the infinity pool to look out. Saw many animal. Good variety of food
Very quiet at night. Maybe a pianist in the lounge for a short time after dinner.
The location is amazing and you are in the heart of the bush, with wildlife right in front of you at the pool, we saw a whole bunch of Hippos and monkeys ☺️Staff are extremely friendly and even helped me wrap presents!Excellent location for the Paul Kruger entrance gate!
Nothing other than the bars and restaurants shut at a little on the earlier side, but hopefully you tire yourselves out with the safari for this not to be an issue
An unforgettable stay from start to finish. Watching wildlife wander by while relaxing in the infinity pool was absolutely magical and something we’ll never forget. The food was outstanding: beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and consistently excellent. What truly set this hotel apart, though, was the staff: warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making every moment special. Exceptional service in a breathtaking setting. You also MUST take advantage of the spa services: afforable and with the most amazing staff and views.Highly recommended.
Wifi is not always reliable but that comes with the magical setting you are in. I would also have liked norms around kids running around the hotel barefood and wet.
I like the friendly staff and the excellent variety of food. The staff played attention on what we preferred for breakfast, especially Nomonde, she knew I liked green tea and my daughter in law liked the latte.
The air conditioner and the wifi need a lot of attention. Our room was hot room 213 and we couldn't get the wifi. The staffer tried to work on it but that didn't work. The bedding was also hot, it would be nice to have light sheets too on the bed. The monkeys should also be taken care off or under control.
It is in a great location to enjoy the park, loved that the pool area sits on the bank of Sabi River. Watching the hippopotamus was unexpected and a highlight.
The most gorgeous accommodation right beside the Kruger Gate. Food was absolutely incredibly. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Pool overlooking river with animals coming by. Room had everything you needed and felt very luxurious. The attention to detail was outstanding. We never wanted to leave.
Very close to Kruger Entrance. Very nice view from the pool and restaurant. Friendly staff. all was smoot and very well organized. We also asked for a full day Safari and the guide was prepared and professional. Thank you!
I have arranged transportation to and from the Gate Hotel by myself as the rate was too high
Friendly staff, and great food.
Our room’s AC was not very cold.
Amazing hotel, facilities, location, and the majority of the staff. Our favorite was the infinity pool with an incredible view and a bar. You can enjoy a relaxing day next to the pool with a lot of animal sightings.Dinner and the dishes were also incredible.
Some of the drivers were straight rude. Considering how much you need to pay for the Safari, I would expect professionalism. Please note the hotel is outside of the park. You will need to pay separately each time you enter the park on top of the Safari costs.Very long morning Safari. As you won't make it back for the breakfast, you will only receive a breakfast box of random items. If you booked a room with breakfast the content of this box is nowhere near the same value of the breakfast you get in the hotel.
It is close to Kruger Park and it is very clean
Dinner choices could be better, stayed for 4 days, felt the menu were similar
It’s our 4th trip to Kruger Gate Hotel. We love the fact that we can fly directly to Nelspruit and it’s a short drive to the hotel. The newly renovated bedrooms are lovely. Also love the new breakfast area.
The gardens are not as neat as they used to be. It was very dry this visit. We booked a morning safari for 5 hours. Upon on our return we were told we could not use the ticket to enter the park again that afternoon. It cost us $325.
Beautiful location , friendly staff, very close to Kruger
Food was good , not great
It’s a beautiful property with very friendly and attentive employees. The lighting is warm and inviting and the resort feels like a huge treehouse with wildlife everywhere. The property even went above and beyond helping us to celebrate our anniversary.
Its deck overlooking Kruger park and the layout of hotel w all amenitiesDinner Buffet was excellent along w breakfast. Buffet. Service exceptional
Location is great. You can watch wild animals while eating at the restaurant in the afternoon.
It would be better if there are more breakfast/dinner choices.
