The motel is in a good position. It is not noisy and the staff and great. The units are clean and the units have everything you need.

Yes. The aircond is not working really well. It's very noisy .sound like you have an airplane over your head.

Room was decent and very clean, beds was great for firm user and pool was clean a absolute delight with the heat. Outside area private with good seating. Basics provided and appreciated. Staff was super helpful in my dilemma of no phone. Close to shops and shopping area.

Outdoor area needed weeding and air-conditioning couldnt cool down top level it was very warm day. One power switch was faulty where i had place lamp on so i could charge my phone. Wifi signal drops in and out. Just little things besides these it was perfect get away.

Good bank for buck. Nice spacious units. Clean presentation. Older but tidy.

Room size, amenities within it and cleanliness

No other facilities like indoor games wtc. The pool was not a Swimming pool it was merely a Tub filled with water. Due to wind, the water wasn't clean and had leaves and dirt around.

Spacious unit with everything provided in the kitchen to make breakfast. The place is a bit dated, but otherwise, a clean and comfortable stay. They had free parking on site. The location was great for us to easily drive to along the coastal route to the Coromandel.

We chose the large family apartment as we were 2x adults and 2x older teens. It felt roomy and had enough windows to make it feel spacious and open too.The beds were very comfortable and so was the carpet. The place was tired but clean. There was a stove top, oven, microwave and kettle, plus a small fridge. You don't often see all of those provided in this price range.The bathroom was a good size and had 4x hooks for towels, and 2 large cubbyholes for storage. There was a hairdryer provided as well.There was reasonable bench space in the kitchen, a small table that could sit 3, plus you could also eat on the couch, using the coffee table.The lighting was very bright - this could be a positive or a negative. There was a hanging ceiling light, lamps near the beds and a fluorescent strip light in the kitchen and above the dining table.The curtains were a lovely gold colour (but not blackout curtains).

The shower water pressure was dismal - the only way to get decent water pressure upstairs is to have a hot water cylinder up there, and there didn't appear to be any room for it (inside anyway).All of the taps (kitchen and bathroom) needed to be turned a lot before water appeared - and they're all separate, not mixer taps, so the hot water gets *very hot* and could be dangerous for young ones.The provided frypan was dented and not flat and quite worn - being a non-stick surface, it really wasn't safe to use.The large family apartment is completely open-planned, meaning that you can hear everything that happens in the room, upstairs on the mezzanine floor (where the 2 single beds were), on the stairs and downstairs - around the queen bed (which is in the lounge), around the couch and in the kitchen. If you want to boil the kettle in the kitchen, or watch TV, etc and not disturb someone sleeping upstairs, that is not possible. They will hear every noise you make. You really all need to go to bed at the same time.Even though we were at the back of the motel, the road the motel is on is very busy. I was glad I had bought my ear plugs for sleeping.The stairs to the bathroom and mezzanine floor are narrow, someone less physically able could struggle with them (the toilet and bathroom are upstairs).There were lamps on each side of the queen bed but only 1 worked. I had to put a t-shirt over my lamp as it was so bright that it lit the whole of the upstairs room where our teens were trying to sleep.

Location, size of room very good. Staff very good.

Clean, comfortable & quiet!

Outside looked a little shabby, could maybe do with a paint for next summer season but was pleasantly surprised with inside.Maybe supply fresh milk on arrival instead of small uht pottles, small detail but makes a difference.Not to criticise but to help improve.

It was a 2 story which my son could have fallen offThey need to not accept little children in those areas. I did not realise it until it was too late.

The photos are not what the actual property is like very old walls need wipe over stains in the couch and carpet The whole place needs a good make over and paint

Lots of ants in the room, too soft beds , needs plants in courtyard, maybe some paintings on the wall of courtyard. People who look after property very nice . Pool a little cold . Close to all we needed .

The room had everything so that you could cook at ‘home’. The bed was a little bit too soft but that’s just a personal preference.

The toilet leaked with each flush and if I was travelling by myself I wouldn’t have been able to have a shower as the tap in the shower was too stiff for me to operate. We told management about both issues but they weren’t too bothered.

These guys are the best. Nice quiet location just up the road from Highland Park and the new mega Pak N Save. They were so accomodating when I had to extend my stay twice at such short notice. They are also very affordable. The next time I am over this way this is where I’m going to book. Thank you Howick Motor lodge ❤️

Disappointing for the price.

The shower was moldy and very old. Tv was small.Bed was uncomfortable. I've had way better for that price.

Like the easy access and the spacious outside area

It was very close to the venue where our event was being held.

Arrived to check in at 6.30pm and the office was closed even though the sign said 8pm office closes. Rung the number provided and waited around 10 minutes for someone to arrive to check me in. I was greeted by a lovely elder man who explained that the office lady had popped out to the airport to collect someone. We were given our key and shown our room. The air conditioner was on and the room was nice and cool however when I turned it off it begun dripping on me as the unit was directly above the bed. The wifi was also weak and kept cutting out so I was unable to finish some work I needed to get done. Overall it is a little out dated but it served it's purpose for the night.
