Service, location, cleanliness, comfort, character and charm.

While the food is good the restaurant for lunch and dinner lacks the atmosphere of the rest of the hotel.

I’ve already done this, wonderful property - great staff - room was fabulous. Dinner, amazing. Every morning’s breakfast was fantastic as well.

It was a little tattered, but we expected that because we’ve been there before. It didn’t hinder our stay or bother us on any level. The staff was so sweet and everybody went overboard to try to be as accommodating as possible to every single little request we had. They were just fantastic in every way.

We’ve been here before and it was equally as beautiful. We hadn’t realized how enormous it was Or As and was very surprised that part but from the staff to the building and the art inside, it’s very beautiful. You have to like an older hotel like this because it’s reminiscent of some of the older hotels in New York City. That’s not a bad thing – – it’s just very distinctive. Our room was very very pretty and we got a bonus upgrade and a bonus balcony, but the balcony was semi ugly and didn’t really have much going for it. It over overlooked a courtyard and it appeared that there was nobody in the hotel, which was odd because they seem to suggested that the hotel was completely booked up. Anyway, that may not be a criticism or even necessary, but just a note. We did notice along the way that there was an NH signature Hotel a little closer to the old city that we may have chosen. Have we not been so keen on coming back to where we had already been because it held a lot of memories for us. All in all it was a wonderful day. It comes out of price, of course, as does everything. Well worth it. To be as comfortable as we were, that is.

The walk to the property was not nearly as beautiful as we had remembered, but it grew on us. Also, I really have gotten quite accustomed to having a big bathtub in the room and for an older hotel, I would’ve thought it would absolutely have a big clawfoot tub. It didn’t.

Location, beautifully restored building, and ample breakfast buffet.

    Parking wasn’t included

Beautiful, historical property in a great location. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms.

The patio overlooking the patio is not worth the “upgrade” as there is nothing to look at and there is little furniture to make it comfortable. The room (Room 150) was so dark because of the placement of the window that we had to turn on the lights regardless of the time of day. The other room we booked for our family was a standard room which was bright and lovely. The dining room staff messed up our packed breakfast order in our last morning, despite the discussion we had the day before so that the boxes would be ready before our morning train to Madrid. While they tried to make up for it by rushing to pack something else, they still ignored the discussion about our dietary restrictions which meant the breakfast mostly had to be thrown out. The delay left us with insufficient time to go buy breakfast elsewhere before our four hour trip. A hotel of this caliber should be able to handle a simple request such as this.

Great location, wonderful staff, good food.

They need to invest in mattresses, they are relatively hard and uncomfortable

Beautiful building, lovely service, central location.

Great location, great and kind staff and did me a huge favor with parking

Some weird things aren’t included with the price like the parking. The room had a strong smell of smoking or something plasticy

Great location. We happened upon a wedding reception and wedding at the cathedral, which made the stay exceptional.

    Restaurant was closed.

very good breakfast for 20 Euro, Room was very clean and the bed very comfortable.Location is good for walking in the old town.

    10DennisPosted on: 5-9-2025

The hotel was a beautiful, old building which apparently a palace in its day. The staff was very helpful, friendly and courteous. There is a nice bar in the hotel and they have a great breakfast buffet. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of all main shopping districts. If you're driving, parking is available within the hotel for a daily fee if you book ahead... a great convenience! Gracias!

On the morning we checked out the hotel's hot water system failed!

Great location, central in Oviedo; rooms very ample

The place has a tired feeling. Like it was a grand hotel 50 years ago and since then has been kept up but not quite to a 5 star level
