Gran Hotel España

The location of the hotel was great for visiting the Sidrerías, cathedral and square. The rooms were ok, basic but clean. It did not strike me as a 4 star hotel.

We had to carry our suitcases down a few stairs to get the elevator up to our rooms. Not a problem for most, but my husband has a bad knee so it was hard for him. There was also a bad smell outside the elevators which was a little off putting, but it could be sorted out by now?

This was our second stay: We were given a corner room, which was amazing- very bright with a great view of the street. Unbeatable location, super friendly housekeeping staff. We would definitely stay there again.

The location is fabulous! The staff were very helpful and agreed to store our bags for a few days in between stays.

It would be nice to have more outlets to charge our phones and iPads, and more counter space in the bathroom and the room.

Location and parking at the hotel

We were put on the first floor and had to navigate numerous stairs with bags. The room was extremely noisy pretty much all night long. I would avoid this hotel

We stayed at this hotel due to its location near the cathedral. The hotel was great. We had a great reception upon our arrival. I appreciated having the car park right there at the hotel. Very convenient. Our room was clean, the beds were comfortable. Truly didn't spend a lot of time in our room as we were out exploring the city. But I would definitely stay here again!! So convenient!!

Floor 0 according to the lift had a bad smell of drains or something that is unpleasant 24/7 not transient. My room 127 also had an unpleasant oder like old smoke + had cigarette burns on bedside table. Other than that room was comfortable. If it were not for these points & lack of attention to detail i would have given a better rating

Excellent location for exploring prior to joining Camino. Exceptional value for money and the staff were friendly and patient.

We booked 2 rooms for 2 adults and 3 kids. They were kind enough to hold 2 rooms adjacent to each other as we requested even when we had a late check-in.The location is great, in the centre of the city centre close to everything!The rooms were clean and modern! We got ones with a balcony facing the main road but it was not noisy at all. We'll definitely recommend it and return for more stays :)

I really like the location, as it was close to Gascona Street, everything was near enough to make it on foot! Impressive breakfast, a lot of variety and options, great schedule.

Parking was not in the same building, still was close to it and they offered a 20% discount! I think they could offer dinner for New Year's as part of the extra service, they should consider it.

The location was great and the room was very clean.

The hotel and room were pretty outdated. Also, there was only one window and they gave us two twin beds instead of a queen sized bed. I asked about changing rooms to have one that looked like the photos on booking. They did not fulfill this request. Also, there was no iron in the room.

This hotel is well located in the City Centre and within walking distance to everything within the city centre.The staff were friendly.

The bedroom was very cold on arrival and I reported this to the hotel receptionist and he assured me that a housekeeper would come to the bedroom to sort the problem. No housekeeper arrived and after one hour I left the Hotel for a dinner engagement. When I returned to the Hotel around midnight the bedroom was as cold as ice. Furthermore the bedroom was located beside the stairwell and lift shaft and the bedroom window wasn't soundproofed which resulted in a very uncomfortable nights sleep caused by the internal and external noise.

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The reception staff were friendly and helpful.

The breakfast had a good selection of food, but the staff turned the flames on hot food off at least half an hour before breakfast was over, so this food was cold. They also were constantly cleaning around you and moving furniture, so not a very relaxed start to the day.

Location first and foremost. Breakfast was good. Enjoyed the Black Bar for a night cap. Staff was helpful. Room was comfortable and had nice amenities

Location was excellent and good to have parking on site (but see next section). Breakfast good with a good choice. Nice to have a bath and a shower.

Arrangements for booking parking unhelpful. We were told that we had to call the hotel in the morning but this was difficult as we were travelling. Even though we arrived spot on check in time, we were originally told that no spaces were available but the receptionist was able to find one for us.

Fantastic hotel in a great location. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. The staff were super helpful, and the buffet breakfast had lots of choices. They even let us check in early which was a nice surprise after arriving by plane in the morning. The windows were obviously triple glazed because when closed, it was nice and quiet. One of the best parts was the price point. Great value for this hotel, in a super handy location in Oviedo.

Everything was great, except for occasional glitchy wifi.

1: First if you have luggage like we did we have to go a flight of stairs to get to the elevator and the same when you leave.2: WIFI hardly worked. Was vague.3: Air Conditioning was controlled by the hotel and no matter what they said in the front desk, it was kept to 20 degrees.4: no safe box in the room.5: room very noisy.

Central location close to centre. top floor room has a great balcony. large room with everything you need.

No parking at hotel available, couldn't reserve a parking spot before hand. On day of arrival hotel offered a parking close to hotel at discounted price (probably same as hotel parking) But had to pay in cash as no card payement was possible.
