    Pros +

    • Price is not a 4 star hotel
    • good reception staff. Clean room.
    • Perfect location near the Camino, Cathedral and fine arts and archaeological museums. Half a block from La Gascona—street full of Asturian restaurants. Parking in the back—difficult to get to—you have to drive a roundabout way to access it, but it’s easy to access from the hotel. Non-aggressive peacock named Felipe hangs out in the parking lot.

    Cons -

    • Price
    • A/C didn't work well so had to open window on noisy street
    • I paid for a Deluxe Double room. There are certain expectations when the title of the room says "Deluxe"; none of these expectations were met. The flushing mechanism for the toilet was faulty. It would not flush completely. However, my biggest complaint is the windows. I fully understood that the room had no air conditioning. I assumed that the windows could be opened to offer some sort of ventilation. This turned out to be a huge problem because of the way the town of Santiago De Compostela is designed. My windows opened up right into a smaller street where vehicles and pedestrians would walk through at all hours of the day and night. They had a set of safety bars on them but the bars were still wide enough to allow anyone to literally reach through the bars on the window and toss something in there if they chose to. There was also a door on the right side of the room that did NOT have safety bars. It wasn't a metal-reinforced door but rather a glass and wood door. Again, if someone wanted to break in, they easily could. Spain was experiencing a heat wave, and the only hope for ventilation also put my safety at risk. I would NOT EVER recommend this place. I'm including pictures. I stuck my phone outside my window and took pictures of the street. All photos were taken from inside my room.

Other than availability and location, I was not at all happy with my room.

    We liked the location.

The hotel is quite old. The rooms are not in good condition and are not comfortable. The beds are too old. The bathroom is old and poorly designed.

Amazing liocatiin, they also have own parking close by.

Facilities bit outdated but not as much as described but in many reviews but definetly not a 4star hotel. Overall we wwre content wish the price was lower but August might be generally expensive

Everything but the A/C . It was too hot both days. The A/c is programmed to work from 1 am to 3 am only . We couldn't sleep and we sweated all night . This is the 3rd time and the last one . Not recommended at all . Unless you do not mind the a/c

A/C system ( from 1 am to 3 am only ) the hotel uses to save some money

The location is superb and the staff was very friendly & helpful. They offer parking nearby for 12€/night. However, if you are lucky, you can actually park at blue zone by paying hourly.

The facility is older than how it looks like in the photos. Try to have a room with a street view.

The location was perfect, beds were comfortable, lots of hot water, nicely laid out room. The staff was super nice and got us into our room almost an hour early.

I have stayed here before and loved the location. It’s close to the cathedral, shopping, and restaurants, and the staff is very helpful.

My room was way too warm - but it’s my fault for not asking to move to another place. The thermostat just was not responding. Great view, too warm.

    8LoayPosted on: 2-1-2025

Room was amazing and overlooking the old city. Stunning views.

Did not have basic facilities like a kettle, coffee and tea as you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

    9DermotPosted on: 9-26-2024

Location was perfect right beside old town and around the corner from all the restaurants, staff were very helpful and the parking was very safe and secure.

Location is good. Pleasant view at Oviedo cathedral peaks from the rooms we had.

Property is very dated - we were puzzled as to how it obtained four stars given its state. Bathroom particularly old with poor infrastructure. WiFi codes provided on pieces of paper one per device.

    great location

the bathroom is nice, but to regulate the shower is not always easy

    5RobmoscaPosted on: 9-3-2024

The room was big and bright. It was really clean and the staff of the hotel was extremely nice.

Unfortunately we arrived right in the middle of a heat wave and the hotel does not have air conditioning, which made sleeping impossible. The mattress was not particularly comfortable, which made it even worse. If it wasn't for that, we would have loved our stay in the hotel, but those two elements made the value of the hotel not worth the price we spent for the room.

Good location. Easy to park. Clean room & large bathroom

Air con didn’t really work. Room was big and had a dining space but only a desk and a chair, no table.

On arrival front of staff were not that friendly - rather snappy in dealing with us. We asked for a room at the back of the hotel - given one but not that happy to do so. Room was quiet at night. Breakfast had a good selection - aimed at business rather than tourists.Hotel within 10 minutes walk to the busier central area, plenty of cafes along the way - at night time a great cider vibe only a street away with LOTS of people still out enjoying themselves just before midnight!

Had to carry bags up several stairs to get to the lifts. Carpets not hoovered outside our room. No towels in the room - probably as we had asked for a room at the back - and new towels arrived only 5 minutes after phoning reception for some. Furniture in the room on the tired side - not what we had expected from a 4 star hotel.

The lobby has about 7 steps. Carrying a suit case and not receiving help from hotel personnel it’s a deal breaker.

No ramps at the lobby for your suitcase in a 4 stars hotel makes me think twice in coming back. Only one employee called Jesus helped me. But that was one day out of 4.The hotel needs to be updated

The hotel is nice. The breakfast is good. It is located in a convenient place.

I recommend they be more flexible and provide packed breakfast to their customers. We had to catch an early flight from Madrid and asked for sandwich packs to be prepared for us in the evening. We thought that since we had made our request 2 days before departure we would be able to have our breakfast. Because even when we were making the reservation separately from it, we requested breakfast. Unfortunately for us, the night before we left the hotel, the reception told us that it is the hotel's policy not to provide this service. We were very disappointed because it was late and the food shops had already closed and we could not prepare our own sandwiches for the trip.I recommend the hotel management to be more flexible.
