Pros +
- Breakfest was plentyful, location of the hotel was close to where we need to be but would not stay here on our return
- Lovely big room and nice view and fab breakfast
- Hotel Don Luis was a great find! Well located for many activities (skiing, tennis, running, bowling, and many more). The staff was really nice to us, from concierge to the restaurant staff, and even the cleaning staff. A stellar staff was indeed the best part of our experience there. Breakfast was always full of different types of food. We also dined at their restaurant Le Vele several times, and were never disappointed. Alessandro (I believe?) at the bar was very simpatico, we enjoyed a few nightcaps in his company. All in all, a very good choice if you are planning to stay in the area.
Cons -
- Upon arriving the front desk clerek was rude as we asked for our rooms. She was not able to give us anyone of the 2 rooms booked as she stated they were still in the cleaning mode. It was around 11am and she asked us to return at 3pm. We left and travelled the area with all our luggage in car which was not ideal. We returned at 230 and one of the rooms was ready ..upon opening the door the room was dirty...spiders on the ceiling....cobwebs in the corners with bugs in them. I returned to the front desk and ask is this the room i was waiting for to be cleaned cause it sure dont look clean....They were very rude and speaking in their language Italian as I understood every word as i was raised by 2 Italian parents in Canada I did not let them know that as I was amazed how they are in the hospitality business and can talk in their language assuming people do not understand.
- All good
- Television was on in bar and lounge, dogs inside were yapping constantly, and people on their mobiles listening to stuff on loud speaker. All of this was tacky and disrespectful and not relaxing. The place was more like a school camp fit out, and the hotel itself a bit tired.

The friendly staff and extremely comfy bed, and yummy breakfast

Air conditioning was not working properly. Staff in restaurants were not friendly. Location was good.
Outdoor bar and lounge, friendly staff
Room Furniture outdated
Location was good, rooms big, reception staff fabulous, place a bit dated and needs some attention, did not distract from our stay (5 motorbikes). Choose to eat in restaurant, wish I had not! However, the issues were resolved in the morning with reception and they could not be more helpful and apologetic. Their chef cost them a poor review. Yes we’d go back because the reception staff were so good and listened.
Restaurant brought out cold food, I complained, took it away, microwaved it, brought it back, further fork full I said tastes awful. Chef came to table and blamed waiting staff for taking too long to serve instead of owning the issue and apologising. Clearly poor protocol in the kitchen. Only the chef caused the issues.
nice hotel and great room lovely staff and fab breakfast
unfortunately the noise at night was bad kids running around echos in the halls struggled to sleep but would stay again in a quieter part of the hotel
the location is amazing.. the lake is soo nice..the staff are really friendly. the reception, very helpful and organise our car to the skii.. she is very helpful.. she saved our trip as we did not have car to drive around.. luckily she helped us book the driver for both days.. the manager wearing suit in the bar also very nice, the waiter help us a lot too.. the waiter serve us during lunch time and breakfast.. he is exellent…
they only have one company car
The breakfasts exceeded all expectations. Great selection of pastries, cakes and other sweet treats. Eggs, hard boiled and scrambled and bacon with choice of toast were welcome as was cheese and salami. Juice and a variety of coffees as well as tea and hot chocolate all delicious. some fruit was available as well.
bed was a little uncomfortable. an errant spring was pokey, otherwise lovely fresh air and a good nights sleep.
will not return to this hotel
The rooms had paper thin walls so I heard every neighbors conversation. the bedding was itchy and the bathrooms were grimy looking. there was a party going on outside with loud music that kept us up all night.
the location was nice by the river.
it was VERY loud. impossible to sleep as there was banging, dogs barking, people yelling in their rooms until 1am every night. the rooms were very dated.
Location was great. Breakfast was excellent and stuff too. Hotel was really clean.
Booked downstairs double bedroom for my parents and twin room for me. Was given 2 double bedrooms on second floor. Toilet was leeking water. Shower was either deep hot ir cold could not be set to warm.
Very nice rooms with lake view.
