    Pros +

    • The location was great, a short walk to the main square and restaurants. Beautiful renovation/ extension to old structure.
    • Wonderful breakfast. Is taken by ordering it to the waiters. It was full and cakes were hand made.
    • Great location, amazing authentic building and delicous breakfast! Very friendly and helpful staff. We also liked the free availability of filtered still and fizzy water in the lobby.

    Cons -

    • The mattresses were very hard, lumpy and uncomfortable. So were the pillows. There was no mattress protector, just a thin sheet and the mattress under the sheet was not clean. The walls are thin and you can hear everything from the rooms next door. The breakfast is poor quality ( the lady who worked the breakfast room was in excellent and tried very hard to please). Besides limited toilet paper and liquid soap on the wall, no toiletries were provided.
    • The room in a couple of nights, out of the four, was quite hot. We could not open the windows because of the noise of the bells of the church nearby (vert close) which were ringing every 15 minutes. We could have used the earplugs, but ........ it is not so nice.I think that the only solution is to install an air condition system.
    • Not completely soundproof. Heard somebody else's alarm clock.

We liked everything. The receptionist was friendly and knowledgeable, the lobby displayed traces from when it was a lavatory - also from the history of the area. The room was good, the bathroom modern and well equipped and outside there was a private sitting area. The breakfast was all that's necessary - served by a helpful and friendly lady. It only takes a few minutes to get to the heart of the city. Very convenient.

Not completely soundproof. Heard somebody else's alarm clock.

Historic and rooms were spacious and clean. Not as noisy as we had thought and lovely views of the mountains.

Castel di Sangro was destroyed in the war. The hotel and church are some of the few remaining structures. They have historic charm but the town does not.

everything, except maybe for location (non-driver) - service was top notch

walk up the cobblestoned path with luggage isn’t the easiest

Very nice location, in the middle of an old part of town with great views, classic, artsy interior.Nice space to relax, beautiful art work. Authentic.

    Breakfast was unusual, but ok.

Beautiful redone property with great details. Comfortable beds and bathrooms. Bell does chime every 15mins but it was fine for us, even at night. Nice classic breakfast. Easy walk into town. Easy parking. Would stay again

Everyting about this hotel is truely fantastic. The facilty is located on the top of a mountain in the miidle of the village. It is an authentic clothes washing spot where the women of the village came to wash and exchange news. all has been wonderfully restored. In the winter this property also functions as a guest house for skiing. The service is a mix of southern hospitality and nothern efficiency. Comes highly recommended.

The hotel was in a very picturesque location with beautiful views all around. The church next door was worth a visit. The hotel interior was nicely designed. it even had a little museum. The rooms were ( we rented 3) simple, really clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was fine and Covid protocol was followed. The manager was very friendly, spoke excellent English. He also helped with everything , even planning our route and interesting stops to Puglia. We were so happy to meet him. We wished we had longer time there

What a lovely place! The hosts were so welcoming and supportive. Thanks to their perfect English they could recommend great Restaurants and helped us a lot during the stay. Especially in times of Covid-19 we felt very well thanks to the good hygiene concept.

Really nice design and great location. Make sure you go outside, climb the hill and see the entire town from above. It's awesome, especially early morning. We arrived there by car when it was already dark. Parked our car on the street next to the hotel (safe and plenty of space). We were advised of all COVID-19 pre-cautions and also of the opening times and how to get in/out when the reception is not staffed. Room was comfortable, but next time I would pay a little bit extra and go for higher category room. The room maybe wasn't the biggest, but comfortable enough. Bed was gorgeous and with combination of luxurious bed linen, that guaranteed very good all night sleep. There are empty glass bottles and you can fill them up from the machine in the corridor. Really good idea and that saves probably few tons of glass/plastic every year. And, which is probably even more important, that water was actually very tasty. We also had a small balcony with a partial city view. During the night I did not even see that, but in the morning it was just WOW! Bathroom was fantastic. It didn't impress me first, but then I said that it was actually very well designed and I absolutely loved the toiletries they're using. Breakfast was served in the morning in the main room and fancy (good idea anyway) anti-COVID idea was to scan the code to get the menu. Breakfast was ready to order and it was very tasty. I think in the "normal" times it is even much nicer. We loved the recommendation we received for the restaurants in town (10 min walk, stairs mainly) - this was great. Fantastic staff, picturesque location, comfortable rooms.

Room was quite acoustic (you could hear other guests walking in the corridor). I would also go for a bigger room next time, even with an extra charge. What I did miss was one central lamp or light as it was quite dark in the evening (if the lamp was as strong as in the bathroom that would be great). We had problems logging in to the Wi-Fi and it took good 10 attempts to "catch" the WiFi. A/C (heating) for some reason stopped around 10 pm, luckily we heated the room earlier (outside it was approx. 4' C). It was still comfortable 1-night stay.
