- The staff was amazing. We arrived late, really late after a harrowing drive to get there and the staff member that greeted us was phenomenal. The front desk was closed and he was the bartender that greeted us and gave us tips for our next day adventure.
- The breakfast and dinner were delicious and it had a great variety of options. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We have stayed here at least 3 times and would come back again. It's in a beautiful location and the rooms are comfortable.

Cons -
- The drive to get to the hotel from Dublin was scary and the single lane road that was a 2 way street was more than we expected. But that could be because of the direction we came from.
- When staying at the lodge, you have to check-in at the hotel. If you need a new key, you have to go to the hotel. If you want breakfast, you have to walk to the hotel and the hotel is a 5-minute walk. I asked for a late check-out, I got it for 1pm. The cleaning staff barged into my room at 11am... didn't even knock - I'm glad I had the lock on. At noon, the receptionist ask when I was going to leave. I had to make several trips to get everything in my car. I went back up and the key didn't work so the lodge receptionist had to run up to the hotel receptionist to get a new key. Overall, I had a good stay.
- Room was cold, bed was extremely soft not very comfortable.

Liked how peaceful it was the hotel was nice and warm and snug after been out for the day.
Nice location, staff very friendly, breakfast was lovely.
Room was cold, bed was extremely soft not very comfortable.
The location was beautiful - luscious and green! I walked to Avoca, a level walk of about 4 km, along the river, with old churches and towers popping out of the greenery as I turned corners. Just remember it is also 4 km back! The food was delicious - especially the salmon with a lemon cream sauce - I had it twice just to be sure I didn't imagine it. The Irish people were so friendly and helpful.
I got caught on a bus that did not take credit cards, but the local people helped me and explained how the local bus system worked. One lady even gave me the coins for the return trip!
Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Food was very good and a reasonable price, if a little unimaginative. The coffee machine in the room was a really nice touch and probably the best thing about the room.
Room was not great. Dark and not good lighting. Bathroom in serious need of modernization. Although clean, was dim and depressing. No receptionist in the Lodge just a phone where you were told to go to the main reception in the hotel, which is a couple of minutes walk outside. At almost €300 for 2 nights without breakfast, it should have been better. TV could have had more options and also was pretty small by modern standards.
The location was beautiful! Our balcony looked out on the wooded area and river.
The Lodge was in a quiet, beautiful setting. Book a room with a river view if you want to face the woods.
Lovely hotel along a river. Good food at the restaurant. Nice room.
It was whisper quiet, and very comfortable
The heater was very noisy.
The guy who installed the new TV. He was very polite and pleasant.
Lodge was old fashioned, old furniture, bad lighting in bathroom/ room. Nothing to do nearby. Bar expensive. Not good value for money. Will not return.
Comfortable spacious room with balcony overlooking the river. Restaurant over the road in the hotel was good. Staff very pleasant
A lovely peaceful location. Had a delicious meal. Room was big and comfortable.
Excellent staff, great food and decent buffet breakfast.
We stayed at the wooden bridge Hotel many times. It's one of our favourite hotels and as usual our stay was perfect. Dinner was great. The staff are always friendly. Rooms are modern and clean. Nice comfortable beds, nice breakfast. We look forward to staying soon again.
Nice hotel, close to Avoca and Avondale
Shower power was a bit low but still OK
Very picturesque, relaxing and cosy. Food was great. Staff are friendly.
We stayed in the Lodges. 2 minutes walk from the hotel. The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to ensure we got what we needed. The room was excellent and very clean and quiet. The food was good but an order for a “medium rare steak” was close to well done with just a shade of pale pink. Basic stuff. The other dishes were ok but poorly presented. A shame because it’s a great place with a really friendly ambiance and great staff and there are so many things to do in the locality.
One night stay for wedding at local venue, service was excellent and staff were lovely and helpful, only complaint there was no drinking water in our room which I would have expected
