    • The Catredal Hotel was in a very good location in the center on town. Rooms were clean and fairly spacious.

    Cons -

    • Just to be warned that the cathedral bells ring from 8am until midnight . Earplugs took care of it.
    • Bed was terribly creaky. Could move without squeaking. Device that used used to clean toilet handle broken handle.Lights inbathroom around the mirror were blindingly bright making it useless to use.
    • We had to leave before breakfast was available, but did have a good cup of coffee.

The location is great - easy to get to many points of interest. The views were great and the staff is too notch. We drove and not being familiar with the area we took a few laps. There is a restaurant on site and à rooftop dining area with great views. Would recommend this hotel!

This may seem petty but they did not provide any coffee/tea for free. They were 1 euro each. Doesn’t break the bank but seriously - charging for coffee!

The location and exterior appearance. It had a rooftop pool.

The floor in our room was dirty. Our bare feet were covered in dust when we removed our shoes. Our shoe soles were filthy, too. We told the staff. Apparently it was construction dust that had not been cleaned. They did not offer another room. Instead would have the floor cleaned. It wasn’t fully cleaned. The edges, corners and under the desk were still filthy. We went to bed and found the pillowcases put on inside out with the seams showing! And the sheets weren’t tucked in at the head and foot so we had to remake the beds. The rooftop pool did not have guest towels nor were there any extra towels in the room. We decided to leave in the morning and requested a refund for our second night which they would not give us. Instead they offered to show us another room. I said No as how could I expect their housekeeping staff to have different standards for a different room. I have never had to write a bad hotel review before. And they advertise as a 4 star hotel! Note: the hallways look like hospital corridors.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, you're literally next to the cathedral in Almeria and walking distance to just about everything. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, they upgraded my room to a larger one which was clean and comfortable.

Parking is a bit hard to find. they had to get someone on staff to guide me to a parking garage across the grounds. Not a big deal in the slightest since the garage had 2 gates and was as safe as you could get, but it took me driving 3 loops for me to be able to find a spot to stop for a second to even let them know.

The Junior Suite on the 5th floor was amazing! A spacious room with a nice bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The terrace is large and offers a direct view of the Cathedral and the main square. You also have direct access to the rooftop bar, which is a great bonus.

One morning we woke up to find the cleaning lady already working on our terrace — even though we had all the curtains open to enjoy the Cathedral view from the bedroom. The minibar only had a few soft drinks and no alcoholic beverages (no beer, wine, or anything else). Unfortunately, the Aperol Spritz we ordered at the rooftop bar was poorly made — with dried orange slices and an unpleasant taste. It’s such a simple drink, so it was disappointing that they couldn’t prepare it properly. Because of this, we chose to spend our evenings at other nearby terraces.

    Exceptional staff and good location

Cathedral bells ring until midnight (but don’t begin again until 8:00 a. m.

    Great location.

The front desk staff were not friendly, nor helpful. The rooftop staff were the opposite. Attentive and friendly.

    Great location across from cathedral.

Tired linens and poorly maintained. Overpriced.

    Noisy outside

The location next to the cathedral, overlooking the cathedral square was charming. The roof top terrace was a lovely area where you can watch the world go by in the square below and it captures the sun all day. Beds were comfortable, shower powerful and the room and hotel were exceptionally clean. Breakfast was excellent. The parking is across the cathedral square and is reasonably priced.

On arrival we were given no information about the hotel so only discovered the roof terrace by chance, the QR code in the room gives minimal info, nothing about the local area. The pool was not available to use. The hotel facade is a beautiful historic building yet once you step inside the soul of the building has been lost, you could be in any hotel, anywhere in the world with generic modern furniture, laminate floors and plastic plants and sound proofing is poor. It felt like a business traveller hotel with noisy events taking place during our stay.

Location couldn’t be any better, right next to cathedral.

Uninspiring breakfast, some rooms face inner courtyard and hence windows tinted and permanently shut.

wonderful location, and they gave us a fine room with a view right down into the Cathedral square. Very helpful staff - we has booked a parking place and were shown where to go, and then very patiently helped while we tried to work out the lights of the hire car. we were also given excellent advice about finding food late at night.

    all fine

Excellent hotel in a very good location next to the cathedral. Staff very friendly and accommodating, size and quality of room exceeded expectations and the room had all expected facilities to include tea, coffee, water, mini bar, toiletries.Bed was very comfortable and hotel ideally located to explore Almeria.

The location, view, superior room and the amneties were great.

The first day we arrived we asked till when we could park the car. They said that the fee was for 24h and we could keep the car in the parking lot till at least 14:00 because we arrived much later as well. Then another employee said we could only stay till 13:00. That was inconvenient because we had planned accordingly.

The location was fantastic, very central and looking out onto the most beautiful square in Almeria city. The hotel building and rooftop terrace were beautiful, though the latter not open for drinks when we were there (except Saturday lunchtime) due to cool/rainy weather. The plunge pool and terrace would be wonderful in warm weather.

The (superior) room was spacious but rather stark and rough around the edges. The balcony doors needed to be cleaned and were ill fitting and didn’t close properly (evident when windy), the table was scruffy, scratched and marked, the desk was too small for the lamp and coffee machine that sat on it. 2 coffee pods per day provided but no milk, no teabags (I didn’t request as had brought my own, but generally would expect them) we bought our own milk. There was no hand soap in the bathroom - we told reception, and they provided extra shampoo/body wash for that purpose. We were there 4 nights and no specific hand wash was ever provided. No complimentary water - it was chargeable at 2 euros. We came back to our room one day to discover the desk had been painted in our absence and was still wet. Both before and after our stay at the Catedral Hotel we stayed in 4 star hotels and the other hotel rooms were far superior, offering more comfort. The Catedral Hotel has the potential to be great but its lack of attention to details means it doesn’t reach 4 star standard. It needs to upgrade the rooms in order to be worthy of 4 star.

Our room was a superior suit and very nice. They made us very welcome as it was our wedding anniversary and left wine and chocolates in the room. Also wine at evening meal with dessert to share a very nice jester .

Parking was a problem as our car was too high for their car park. So we had to park on the road, which wasn't so bad being a Sunday and free.

Loved the spacious Superior room & its modern take on a four poster bed, which was super comfortable. The roof top bar was a nice touch with great views over the square & Cathedral. The Bar staff where very helpful, friendly and attentive.

Our room overlooked an alley which was noisy on occasions through the early hours from passing groups of teenagers.

Modern hotel in historic setting. Great rooftop bar. Rooms are good size and balcony great size

Trying to find hotel is a nightmare. Sat nav takes you on journey to end across the square from the hotel. Evenly meal starts at 8.30pm .However, late meals are commonplace in Spain. Some areas around the hotel are run down and feel a little unsafe
