    Pros +

    • Maybe Stella Maris is not the most modern hotel in Italy, but nothing can beat the panorama of the sea and its atmosphere, therefore we came back already different times. One of our nicest night during the whole year was the first night in Stella Maris, with the opened windows, noise of the sea and the little wind that entered to the room, with the light of the moon as it expands on the sea. During the day it is so convenient to walk to the beach, which is also literally just a few steps from the hotel. The staff is very kind and helpful, the guests are also nice people.
    • Great location with very ambitious reception lady. Very good breakfast variety and nice outside seating area. Balcony to the seaside was top.
    • The hotel is located right at the sea and 1 minute walk from the restaurant streets. The interior is dated and the bathroom is very small but it has a special flair to it. We didn’t mind. The walls are very thin, so you hear your neighbours. The breakfast has a good selection of ham and cheese, musli and fruit. The best part of the hotel is the staff. There is a lovely lady who can help you with almost anything. She knows the area very well and can give you just about any recommendation. She is a real darling!

    Cons -

    • The quality of the bed could be improved, it was way too soft due to its construction. But we did not ask for a change, the view made up for this only downside.
    • The "comfort" room was small and crammed, the mattress a too soft. Not at all soundproof, you can hear EVERYTHING from the neighbors. It's a matter of luck: if your neighbors are considerate, you can rest and sleep in peace. In my case, the neighbors from hell in the building next to my room decided to watch soccer at high volume and made a lot of noise until late at night. They did not react to my pleas to turn it down. That ruined my stay but was probably just bad luck.Better then not to pick the rooms (mine was 314) at the end of the 3rd floor.
    • The only thing that could be a problem is the parking if it’s not available, but if you book in advance you should be able to reserve it.

Friendly reception and staff, especially Tiziano, who was very helpful. The position of the hotel is perfect.Morning sun on the balcony above the quiet street.Generous breakfast.

Everything was great! The staff was helpful, friendly and polite. I got the comfort room with sea view, which I really recommend. As people say the rooms are quite small but I don’t think that is a problem. It is in a really nice location, close to the beach and the center.

The only thing that could be a problem is the parking if it’s not available, but if you book in advance you should be able to reserve it.

Great location. Right on the sea/boardwalk. Close to the beach and many restaurants. Staff at check in were friendly. Sheets and towels were clean. The breakfast that was included was amazing! Lots of fresh meats, cheeses, buns, fruits, pastries, coffee, juice etc. nice room to eat breakfast as well as an outdoor space. Unfortunately no view of the sea. But that’s ok

We had an issue with the air conditioning. They attempted to fix it but weren’t quite understanding that if they couldn’t fix it I’d expect to be moved to another room. Instead of accommodating this request the lady at the front desk argued that the only room they had would cost me more. Don’t know why it should cost me more if they can’t provide an air conditioned room as per advertisement. It was very warm in the room! Eventually my husband was able to get it going. But they seem to control it centrally from the front desk. By the morning it was off and warm again. So this was not a pleasant experience.

close to everything. great free breakfast.

poor air conditioning. we didn’t know we had to reserve a parking spot . none were available for us.

    9RobertPosted on: 8-31-2022

this was situated right on the fron with fabulous sea views, it is quiet as ther is no direct access to the promenade but the access is only 3mins walk away, the room was a good size and facilities clean and comfortable, the floors in the dinning area are beautifully finished in marble and gives it a real italian feel, the staff were super freindly and extremely efficient. Grado is a beautifull place to visit with lots of really good restaraunts, local shops with plenty to do and see in this real italian town.

breakfast buffet was quite good, the location right next to the sea was excellent, but one must know, that there is a pedestrian path between hotel and the sea - before a holiday , there were lots of people out and therefore it was noisy until late evening.

    9MathildaPosted on: 8-7-2022

Good location right next to the breakwater walkway, close to the sandy beach and the public beach. Also very close to the main historic centre. Staff were friendly and helpful, plenty of options for breakfast. Wifi speed and strength was good and great airconditioning as there was a heatwave!

    7MariiaPosted on: 8-6-2022

    Great sea view. Helping staff.

The hotel is not modern, the room is cramped. Bad smell in the toilet.

    No parking space

The Hotel told me per E-Mail that the Hotel has only a small parking space and that it is at that time fully booked. They told me that they will show me a parking space near by.When I arrived my wife and me could Not find any parking space in Grado. We have been searching for more than 2 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(((

    8HaraldPosted on: 6-24-2022

Beach nearby and top location for a walk in the evening, plenty of good restaurants around.

    9CraigPosted on: 5-24-2022

nostalgic trip down memory lane, first visit since studying in Grado Summer 87. I had no idea that the hotel was built next to the Museum, that was itself built on the site where I studied. so that was a bonus. the room was small and very clean, and that’s all you need. no one is ever going to visit Grado and stay in their room. Staff were exceptional, breakfast was fresh and plentiful and the view over the lagoon just as I remembered. if you are looking for a clean, friendly and and conveniently located hotel, you can’t really go wrong.

    not much to dislike.

    Sea view and relaxed atmosphere

    Tight elevators

    8ChristopherPosted on: 10-29-2021

Great location, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed.

Basically furnished with little imagination. The rooms and corridors resembled a hospital!

    8SorinPosted on: 9-18-2021

Superb location on the seafront, very good breakfast, extremely friendly staff.

The rooms have thin walls and any noise can be heard from the neighbors. The internet did not work during the 7-day stay. Parking too expensive.Youcan park nearby for half price.

    5ChrisPosted on: 9-3-2021

The manager Marco was very friendly, funny and spoke very good English. The continental style buffet breakfast had a good selection with fresh fruit & breads, the coffee was great. From our balcony it looked out directly to the sea and we could reach the beautiful old town of Grado after a 2 minute walk.

The safe in the room had no lock, the room & hotel in general is in desperate need of renovation, it looked like it had not changed since the 1980's. The bicycles we had for the day was also in need of repair. The lift was broken on the day of checkout but the staff helped us take our luggage down to our car.

    7KrisztiánPosted on: 8-29-2021

Staff very friendly. Mega view from the balcony.

Rooms are small as usual in Italy. But it's ok
