Parkhotel Sonnenhof

I would highly recommend Parkhotel Sonnenhof. The staff is friendly and helpful. Upon checking in our room was upgraded to a suite. This room was beautiful and comfortable. The hotel is clean and spacious with thoughtful features that make you feel like you are staying in a nice house. For example, the shutters on the windows and doors which block out all light made the room very dark for sleeping. There was also a common living room where my wife and I played a board game and had a drink. The location is walking distance to the local town square in Oberammergau and within a 30 minute drive to Garmisch.I would recommend the hotel restaurant, the service and the food was very good and at a reasonable price. Reservations are recommended since they are not open every night. One of the best features of the hotel is the pool and spa. The last night of our stay we used the pool and spa and regretted not checking it out earlier because it is a full featured European spa with cold bath, shower, steam room and sauna. It was wonderful!

In general it is very good hotel, it would be good if it will be electrical kettle in the room.

The lady on reception was super friendly ,the room had a lovely balcony and view .

Restaurant was closed , breakfast was average ,staff not friendly or helpful when you wanted to sit outside ,we had to lay our own table ,they seemed stressed even though it was not that busy ? looked good on the pictures but actually not that great .

Good location at the edge of the town but close enough to walkt to Restaurants. Facilities were clean, pretty nice Sauna considering all.

Room was small and the bathroom shower even smaller. The room was good for sleeping, but not much else.

Staff, location, on site parking, breakfast and room exceeded expectations.

The best things about this hotel are the friendly and helpful staff and the location. The views from our balcony and the restaurant terrace were stunning.

Beautiful hotel - located right next to the river. The staff was friendly and helpful. Very nice view from the rooms and the breakfast restaurant. We really loved the facilities - they had a nice pool and also a dedicated large playroom for the kids. RIght opposite the hotel was a small playground for the kids. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.

Would be good to add a kettle with tea and coffee-making facilities in the room. Also, while parking was available opposite the hotel, it was full on one of the days so we had to park a little distance away.

Room was very nice with balcony. Restaurant outstanding. Breakfast buffet outstanding.

Breakfast was good, however some rooms in breakfast rooms are dedicated for special guests (Family ...). It would be nice to infrorm guest by booking. Anyway hotel is in perfect location, quiet, helpfull staff, swimming pool.

I ordered a fried steak and received a medium-rare, while the waiter asked twice.

It was a wonderful stay at this hotel! Everything was perfect – the room was clean and comfortable, the location was great, and the service was exceptional. The staff were friendly, helpful. Highly recommended!

Is a huge place, close to Garmisch.

I’m the balcony did not have a view, no vegan options for breakfast.

The breakfast was very good and had a large selection. The staff were very friendly and had lots of tips for excursions.

Pillows in the bedroom were terrible… Pro tip: bring your own pillow! Breakfast was not very good.

Pool a little warmer

Stylish design inside of the hotel, sauna, breakfast, stuff, the room, sound-proof windows. We were provided with the bathrobes for sauna. The stay was great:)

Almost nothing but two things. Mattresses are too soft, therefore sleeping was a bit uncomfortable (not get used to soft mattresses). No slippers ? (the floor was not cold though).

We stayed one night on our way to Italy. The staff was very kind, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was very good, the room was okay. The wellness area was amazing. There was EV charging available.

There was a conventional car blocking one of the two EV charging stations. This is rude and should not happen. There was no door between the two rooms of our junior apartment, so it was difficult to put kids to sleep quick.

Large apartment with a great view on the river and mountains. Super breakfast and nice wellness area.
