Romantik Hotel Residenz am See

The ambience and furnishings throughout the establishment were so lovely, and the greeting from staff upon arrival was an unexpected treat: complimentary champagne, juice and hors d'oeuvres offered as you enter the hotel. The breakfast is unsurpassed from our prior travels elsewhere and the dinner was truly amazing. The staff were so professional, kind and friendly and the rooms were simply gorgeous. It is perfectly located within a very short walk to the lovely shore of Lake Constance, restaurants and sites of beautiful Meersburg.

Room had balcony, nice decor. Bathroom very luxuries. Location was perfect, all of Meersburg was walkable from hotel. Breakfast was exceptional, a real treat. Easy parking.

Room was a little small.

Breakfast was delicious and so very beautifully presented. Lots of choice and delicacies to sample. Coffee was excellent too. We had a room with a garden view on first floor which was quiet and peaceful. The staff were all very hospitable and helpful. We spoke only basic German but most were fluent in English. We were delighted to be offered a drink and snack on our arrival, lovely touch. Facilities were excellent, clean and well maintained. Excellent convenient location away from the harbor noise and ferry terminal, but only a 5-7 minute walk to old town. We did not have an opportunity to enjoy a dinner/meal at the hotel restaurant, next time!

It was very clean!

My car got scratched at the parking and no heads up from the stuff. Also, the four start hotel should come with a proper soup and the location, but it was no location in the bathroom. Overall, it was nice but comparing to the costs paid it was not justified.

Breakfast was exceptional as was the restaurant for lunch and evening. Staff of entire property was very pleasant and helpful.

It was very hot while we were there. The only way to cool the room was to leave patio door open. This caused our room and bathroom to be over run with small flying insects. Room needs some screens and alternate ventilation.

Best breakfast selection I have ever eaten. Staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.I would certainly recommend the hotel and we would be happy to stay here again.

Internet connection was very poor in our ground floor room 14.

Good breakfast, good location

TV only for Germans!! Front desk either nonexistent or totally useless. For such an expensive hotel, terrible quality towels. Instead of shampoo and body lotion, a single liquid of unknown origin!

location is great, I liked the room very much, the garden in the back, the location was amazing and the eating areas were also great!

parking is a little tight- but not more than normal in Europe

we needed a bed for two, not two single beds pushed together, which is what “premium” apparently means here.

The staff were great, and very willing to help -- when I went down to the restaurant to get a snack, one of the staff happily carried the tray up to my room. And when I had anxiety about parking in the narrow space (quite normal for Germany), the front desk staff came out and helped & encouraged me.

The close-up mirror in the bathroom is installed so high that only people over 5 ft 7 can use it. I've seen this before at Romantik hotels, and wonder if there is a policy for all properties about it. There are only a few outlets in the room, which is inadequate for today, when most travellers use 2 or more devices. I had to unplug a lamp to power my devices. A USB power strip would be useful. The balcony was tiny and angled badly so that the room got little sun. The hotel information booklet in the room said there was room service, but I was informed there was none.
