    Pros +

    • Breakfast was great at the Wilder Mann hotel. We stayed at the Rauchfang, it was another one of those very depressing 1980s German rooms, with the thinnest towels money can buy.
    • The breakfast was awesome
    • breakfast buffet at wilder mann was outstanding. room 309 with balcony facing back courtyard was super clean and modern albeit small. might be too tight for 2 people

    Cons -

    • It was just a bed (too hard), depressing, would never stay there again.
    • The key fob to enter the room was difficult ro work. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable and the pillows were paper thin. The decorations were a nice touch The check in was lame and I am not sure what we would have done if we had arrived later as the place where we had to check in was down the street. This information about check in was not clearly represented on the website. I would have preferred to stay at the Wild man down the street.
    • the room was in the 3rd floor and it was difficult for me older parents and the luggage, breakfast was also in another hotel but it was a short walk to there (5 min)

    People were friendly

The room was extremely hot, a fan was provided, but made no difference

    7RPosted on: 9-9-2024

Cleaning people were very efficient, even folding the night gown and laying it on the bed, the night lights were very nice feature,

The bed was was very uncomfortable, had a large gap between the 2 mattress, very little storage space for an entire week worth of clothes

    9RuthPosted on: 7-1-2024

A comfortable, friendly hotel. Excellent reception staff. Good room, the fan was welcome.

    7ClivePosted on: 6-18-2024

Situated almost on waterfront with excellent ferry facilities

Absence of lift and quite a long walk to breakfast place

    7DieterPosted on: 6-2-2024

great location - near boat landing

Mittelalter rooms in Rauchfang (the ones we booked originally) were in a separate building with no lake view and no elevator.Staff was very helpful accommodating a change to their main building. Had that failed, we would have been very unhappy. I suggest they describe the options more clearly Breakfast was in nice place, but it was located 1/2 mile away on the other side of town. Shuttle was available on some occasions, bt no always.

    CleanEcht Bodensee card offered

Lakeview... is an exaggeration (see picture) not worth the price difference.Rather expensive with an additional 4eur/ person as city tax, not explicitly listed.

Amazing breakfastAtmosphere in room was coolGood location

Sound insulation could be better; you can hear what is said in neighboring room

    9MikePosted on: 8-28-2023

The room was nicely decorated and the bathroom was modern and clean. The location was exceptional. We had 3 separate rooms and all met or exceeded our expectations.

The locks were a bit difficult.

Great medieval decoration. Good shower. Fan in room. Staff at the seehof (just across the way) on booking in were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is at the wilder Man hotel (3 minute walk) and this was excellent, It had sausage, bacon, eggs and a wide range of fruit and veg as well has the continental options. I would stay again.

Blinds or net curtains would be good for lake view rooms as they look out onto the main street. I don't sleep well unless dark, the curtains let light around the top and sides due to the metal curtain rail.

The quirky style, the amazing breakfast at the partner hotel.

    The room was slightly small.

    10JanetPosted on: 8-12-2023

Quaint decor which fitted the aura of the town’s history. Amazing venue for breakfast, taking in the magnificent lake-side views. The Reception staff were overwhelmingly considerate, kind and conscientious.

The hotel is well located, confortable, great breakfast at a neighboring hotel, great for a day or two.

Small room, many useless decorations where one can hit himself while moving around the room

    6KlausPosted on: 7-27-2023

    Location.

NO TV--and we found out when we checked out that we should have been offered alternate accommodations because of that! A fan in the room helped with the hot weather as no AC in this older building.

    5JacquelinePosted on: 7-25-2023

    The location

Room on a top floor attic with no lift, no air-conditioning, no tea and coffee. Tiniest shower in the world! View of a concrete wall. Charges for Parking a motorbike on a patch of rough gravel…Breakfast at the better hotel was a bonus plus their staff were friendly.

    7ThomasPosted on: 6-25-2023

    Great theme

Room very small and 2 beds moved together/ middle mine

    6MarkPosted on: 6-22-2023

Breakfast was excellent. Property was central

Had to pay 12euro to park car. Longwinded check in. Not great value for money. Room had excessive medieval theme. Also scaffolding on the balcony made it unusable. No air con.
