    Pros +

    • Location perfect, clean, comfortable beds.
    • It is good that it is located at the center and not too far from the airport. The AC in the room was functional.
    • Amazing location, great view from the balcony onto the port and the fireworks on Bastille day (14th of July)

    Cons -

    • Breakfast was a bit too expensive for what they offered.
    • However the property is really not in a good condition. From my attached pictures you can see that there is mold near the AC. The room looks nothing like the pictures they show on booking. And we paid CHF 120 a night for this room. The towels smelled very funny and had a dead insect on it. The toilet was separate and can barely fit a normal person in there - the room was so small. The entire room is extremely dated, with bad furniture and decor. There was a stain on our bed sheet. All in all a very poor and shoddy maintenance of the hotel. The elevator in the hotel is very small and makes strange noises. Our room was supposed to be street view but there is a tiny window between the bathroom and toilet, which has a direct view of the neighbouring building and a tight alley in between. The pictures on booking.com are extremely deceiving and it is indeed a poorly maintained hotel.

Centrally located but not terribly loud or too busy. Easy access to a lot of different attractions and food.

I should have asked for a higher floor for a better view, that’s all. Everything else was good!

Our lovely room was as described with a good view to the port, newly renovated bathroom, full length mirror and so very clean. Breakfast buffet included scrambled and boiled eggs. Spent enjoyable hours looking out at the activities of the port. Daily markets and larger markets on Saturdays. Staff members Anouk and Allane most helpful. Appreciated that Hotel replied promptly to my train schedule questions before arrival.Axel at tourist office helpful with location of the Villa della Rocca where Matisse stayed when in Ajaccio. Address is corner Rue Gabriel Peri and Boulevard Sylvestre Marcaggi. Church of Sacred Heart is opposite. Sign says Villa Allegrini Les Glycines. No plaque to indicate history of Matisse.

On first morning even though leaving do not disturb sign out the cleaning staff still came into the room. Which was very upsetting that our privacy was invaded. Regardless of this Hotel Du Golfe is well run by caring staff, eager to help you have an enjoyable stay. Consider getting a room facing the port at a high level. Complements to Municipal Council for their attention to cleaning.

Great location on the waterfront with wonderful restaurants. Close to Napoleon house and Fesch museum.

    Lack of parking

Location is the best in the city, staff were kind, nice lobby area

Lots of small fees, more than 2 people eliminates sea view rooms, air conditioning (or fan) did not work and we were not offered a remedy

The location was great, very central. The view from our balcony was brilliant.

Very small room and bathroom. Breakfast was very poor and not value for money. We could eat cheaper and better in a number of places next door to the hotel.

The location is perfect, close to the ferry terminal, train station. Lots of eateries and the old town is accessible within minutes by foot.

The pictures on booking.com look better than what you get in real life. You get what you pay for, no more no less. I personally will not stay there again.

The view over the port from our bedroom was stunning and looking out on the market was fun too.The close proximity to the ferry port was great for us.The staff were friendly and helpful.Being able to sit outside on the terrace in front of the hotel was very pleasant. Very close proximity to Ajaccio’s main attraction was a huge bonus and also the town’s beach was only a short walk away.

The breakfast was ok but a bit disappointing. Also it would be better if the times were between 7 am and 10 am rather than 9.30. We arrived at 9am and got the feeling everything was winding down.Through the first night our rooms smelled strongly of disinfectant.

Location was excellent. The staff was very friendly with advice on where to eat and what to visit. The room was clean and organized with towels, toiletries etc.

Please note that the single room was very small, with window that didn’t open to let any light in and there was only the view of a side alley although the booking advertised sea view. There was an additional 15 euro charge for early check in which only became clear after booking. Everything was great except these points.

Very nice hotel with extraordinary location, exactly where you want to be in Ajaccio. The amenities are great. It is worth having a sea view because you’ll have a show with all the people and boat activities

    All good

Rooms are tiny. Badly sound-proofed and not very comfortable.

Terrific location in the centre of town facing the market and the sea. The reception staff were very helpful.

shower cubicle was a bit cramped

This is a wonderful hotel overlooking the beautiful marché. The rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Merci!!!

    10ZiPosted on: 7-2-2024

Very good location. 800 meters walk to the train station, opposite is the ferry and market. The staff are so friendly and helpful!

    Shower is too small!

Easy check in, room was comfortable and very quiet. And right across from a great market
