Pros +
- Very attentive staff, convenient and inexpensive parking, great location right in the heart of the city.
- 10 minute walk to hotel from train station. The hotel is within the huge pedestrian zone so it is very easy to walk to restaurants and bars.
- The hotel is in the city centre which means everything is within 5-10 min walk from it. There are great restaurants near by for breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful with food tips and how to get around the city.
Cons -
- Especially the way the staff acted at breakfast was completely unprofessional. Too little of everything, and every piece of bread you had to beg for. Not recommended at all.
- Our room faced a square which was nice, but people tend to stay out there on weekends late at night and can be loud.
- Instructions to Parking, No restaurant or bar in the hotel in the evening. Communication not easy but reception tried.

Location. Rooms were OK.

Lovely old building. In a perfect spot for short exploration of town. Parking we didn’t use. Cathedral car park was €15 overnight and 2 min walk.
Little sole-less. But town is all around so no issue.
Central, nice breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff.
Great location...but that's about it!
NO tea and coffee in the room, bar was closed and the restaurant was closed
The room was clean, the breakfast was lovely, and the hotel was beautifully located.
The room was very cold and the hot water wasn't quite hot enough to warm up with. I also wish there had been a self service coffee option either in the room or in the lobby.
Rooms were very clean. Check in and check out were extremely quick and efficient. All the staff we encountered were fantastic.
The toiletries - although I was delighted to find a toothbrush as I forgot mine, I was disappointed to find two very small bottles for the shower. And a small bar of soap for the sink. I would have liked to see something attached to the wall in the shower and a liquid hand soap.
The staff were very helpful, they also parked the car for us and brought it back at the end of the stay. food was good did not eat breakfast at the hotel. my husband uses a wheelchair they were very helpful with doors etc.
they stopped serving food at 17.30
Very good room - clean and spacious.
Much confusion checking in - staff seemed unable to cope with having 3 separate bookings from 3 different family groups all using the same surname.Total chaos at breakfast on Saturday morning - completely understaffed and front desk seemed totally indifferent - we could not wait for the breakfast we paid for and went outside to find a coffee shop. The hotel does not have a proper lounge or bar area for guests to relax together - we were part of a larger family group and needed somewhere to gather together. Very poor restaurant facilities on Sunday - it closes at 6pm.
On the first morning the staff member serving did not have much English and I called the manager to explain I have a severe nut allergy. He explained to the staff member and I placed my order for breakfast. One hour later we were still waiting for our breakfast and when I asked what the delay was I was told the they forgot to place the order.
Hotel was clean.
Large, comfortable room which was very clean. Excellent location. Friendly, helpful receptionist. Good breakfast from a set menu, not buffet & served to your table.
Restaurant & bar closed at 5pm daily. We sat in the restaurant area for breakfast as we were told by the receptionist that breakfast was in the restaurant. Other people were eating in there. A waitress then asked us to move to the bar area where members of the public were eating/ drinking coffee. Rather confusing and embarrassing. A notice or member of staff greeting & directing at the door would be helpful. Breakfast itself was good. Hotel is difficult to access by car as it’s in a pedestrianised zone and you have to drive straight to the garage. Ramp into garage very steep.
All is well if you like a city centre location….however it is impossible if you have a car…..as no front access road……and very very difficult.
After illegally stopping on an extremely, busy one way street, we dashed for help to the hotel……they explained that we had to go around many streets, and access their underground car park…it was very difficult.
Perfectly placed, lovely hotel. Very comfortable and the room was ideal.
Very little. Being picky the set menu for breakfast rather than a buffet slightly strange. But it was fine for one or two nights.
Right in the heart of the old city, our room was very pleasant and a good size, breakfast was a very good choice , with a cook on demand chef for bacon eggs various etc
Not a very nice view from our room, also the pool was not very big for a regular swimming good for cooling off
Very good location and good value for money. Friendly and helpful staff
The location is amazing and the history of the hotel is great. The staff was helpful and very polite. The parking garage is a bit tricky but it worked out fine for us.
