- The grounds were big and it was removed from the main road so was fairly quietStaff was responsive to a plumbing problem and fixed it on a Friday evening of a busy weekend
- The hotel grounds are lovely, good location, close to the centre and it has a big swimming pool.
- Great location, free parking and free wifi and that's about it.
Cons -
- The website photos are not representativeWe couldn’t find a poolThe grounds are in declinePlumbing is old
- The hotel is a little dated in places, but thats ok as its good value, BUT.... It would definitely benefit from air conditioning! , one fan in a room for 3 people wasn't quite sufficient in August temperatures!
- Thee pictures don't match the property though and seem like they were taken a while back. The room and corridors are just tired and in need of a facelift, and airing out (to get rid of the musty smell). Cleanliness was so-so including in the bathroom. Definitely not what we were expecting and not the experience we were expecting, but I suppose we should have read the reviews more thoroughly beforehand as they do mention all of this.

Beautiful grounds, clean, comfortable rooms, huge (by European standards) walk in shower. Nice continental breakfast. Patrice was nice and always accommodating. Being only days in the country, his capable use of English was welcome.
Mostly because it was a surprise but in the end turned out fine. There is a dog roaming free on the property. There is a statement indicating this buried in the official website but I'm sure the booking website didn't mention it. There is a warning sign upon arrival. She's a very sweet dog and well behaved for a youngster, but curious. My dog is old, handicapped, and reactive so wondering if she would be outside at every needed break was a little nerve-wracking. There were two encounters that ultimately turned out just fine. I just think there should be a more prominent notice given to potential guests.
Good location. Very friendly and helpful staff
Facilities were not as described. The swimming pool was closed and had been for some time. The hotel was described as having a restaurant and this was not the case. The menu that was displayed on the property website was for ready meals which could be microwaved .Both these facilities were what influenced our choice of hotel.
Quiet, WiFi, onsite bar. Pet friendly.
Room quite small. The pictures on booking.com are misleading. Pool closed.
The bed was clean and comfortable.
This was not as advertised on booking.com, the pool was closed and had been for a while, the sun terrace was run down, non existent really, the restaurant was not open, there was a bar but not sure where the coffee house was, the rooms are advertised as sound proof but you could hear the guests talking in the adjoining room let alone their TV which kept us awake. I know it was late season but I'm not sure how long ago the photos were taken but they don't represent how it is now. I got the impression the rooms in the main building may have been different and to be fair the hotel's own website did say the pool and restaurant were closed but we booked from booking.com and didn't look at the hotel site until afterwards
The dining area and the bar were really good. The breakfasts were good as were the grounds.
We were allocated a room that had once been a shed and converted into bedrooms.. This was probably twenty or thirty years ago as they were in need of a major overhaul. The swimming pool was closed and looked as if it had not been used for a long time. Same with the tennis court. Not been used for many years. Whole place needs updating. As for Le Patron, the best way I can describe him is a French 'Rigsby."
Free parking, quiet location, good breakfast
Room was a little tired. Further away from Bergerac centre than expected.
The dog! She was super cute. The bed was amazingly comfortable and lush. The room was pleasant. The breakfast was pleasant.
I truly wanted to use the swimming pool (personal physical injury that is helped by swimming), but was told it was not available!!!!
Very comfortable bed, good shower, lovely breakfast, very friendly dog.
A bit overgrown outside the bedroom, Wisteria branches all over the terrace, bit tricky to walk over. Signage was very sad looking and I wondered what sort of place i had booked.
The hotel is "tres sympa" in a very French way. Management including the lovely Beauceron Entil are friendly and professional. I loved the huge tasty croissants offered at breakfast which exceeded my expectations.Good base to visit the Perigord Noir at easy driving distance.Lovely old trees, good size clean pool, although I only used it once due to the weather.
Maybe a jobseeker might be found to tend to the immediately reachable weeds near the old mas.
We loved Bergerac and the fact that the Hotel was not too far from the centre.
Not able to have breakfast. Not able to have hot drink before leaving in the morning. Restaurant not open at all. Toilet in one of the rooms making a noise through the night.
Good location, very convenient for central Bergerac. Excellent breakfast and attentive staff. Lovely to be able to have a swim and the garden was pretty.
Location close to centre and airport for the following morning
Was very tired and dated, the outside was in need of renovation and the grounds were overgrown and untidy. We were told on arrival no restaurant facilities in the evening, one of the reasons we booked, the hotel had a damp smell and the corridors upstairs smelt terrible, an oily fish smell.the rooms were a mix of dated interior and some new additions, the beds lacked duvet covers, only a sheet underneath them, on the whole the rooms were clean however some of the towels in the bathroom did not look fresh. There was a polite receptionist who checked us in but the place was like a graveyard. The images and descriptions paint a very pleasant yet different picture to the reality.
A functional hotel that could be exceptional had it had a makeover. It's perfectly functional and typically French. Would i stay here again? Yes, absolutely, it's peaceful and quaint.
Needs a bit of a makeover. A bit tired and would be much better if the restaurant was open, it has all the perfect areas ready for such occassions but maybe needs a few more staff.
Exceptionally comfortable beds in a large room with a decent shower and relaxing view over the wild but wonderful gardens of this traditional old French hotel. Yes the restaurant is permanently closed, the tennis court abandoned, and the walk into town too long … but all of this info is on their web page, so shame on those reviewers who still turn up … and the moan about such matters. The owners dog is delightful, provided you don’t mind the attention! Breakfast was simple but fresh, served by staff (rather than self service) in a lovely airy dining room, and good value.
Hopefully the restaurant will one day reopen and the hotel will get some investment to restore the beautiful grounds. Meantime, great value for a restful stay. Check out the Blanche Hermine crêperie in thé Old Town quarter when it’s time to eat!
Beautiful property, pool was lovely, beds very comfortable
Only wine and beer available and staff not always there to serve if you wanted anything. Would of been nice to have cereal or toast as a breakfast option. Continental breakfast was nice but a bit too much for our liking.
Clean and comfortable.
No restaurant, however ready made meals available which was surprisingly good.
Beautiful old house, lovely in summer
No evening meal , they used to have it before Covid , I still go back as it’s a lovely setting
