Beautiful location, warm and welcoming suites, great facilities

The outdoor area was mostly covered by the scaffolding due to ongoing work o the outdoor pool

Very friendly staff. Hotel in good conditions and well maintained. Nice place to rest and recover. Good breakfast, with several options. Indoor pool is a bit small (especially for a hotel with a lot of families/kids - Vila Gale are known for being a family oriented chain) but still a good experience. Nice sauna. Located very close to the valley that is a beautiful part of Portugal. Live up to my expectation.

All the staff were outstanding in helping with our trip to this marvelous location in such a serene area of Portugal. My only regret is we did not arrange to stay in the hotel longer. Super help from our server for supper. John our server not only made our evening feel very special but he also made some wonderful suggestions for the rest of our trip including somewhere to find some cheese that we enjoyed with our supper. We both found the cod main course splendid. Your staff made this short stay for us feeling relaxed and ready to continue our journey.

Nicely located, modern, friendly staff (special Jamal and Victor) very helpful and great breakfast. The spa staff was very accommodating to our schedule. Great pools and sun balcony have great views

The bathroom is too small for the quality of the hotel, two people almost don't fit in the room

Beautiful hotel, pool and spa. Convenient to everything. Staff were wonderful. I had emailed the hotel before arriving to see if there was a kettle in the room. When we got to the room there was a tray with cups and saucers and a tea kettle, I don’t know if this is standard in the rooms, but it’s a huge plus for us…. a glorious sight! RUBEN at reception was exceptional! He took the time to tell us highlights of the area, he booked a tour of the Burel wool factory and suggested a great place for dinner. All of Ruben’s suggestions made our stay in Manteigas even more delightful. Ruben even called us to ensure we’d had a good time…… truly above and beyond and made us feel so cared for! Based on all of the above, we will absolutely return to this area and to this hotel. Thank you very much!

Parking in the garage was a little tricky due to the angle! Our mattress was a little firmer than we like, but overall the room size, bathroom and view was terrific.

- localization in very calm area - spacious room with good isolation - nice breakfast - nice touch with welcome pack with apples and water- we have used the indoor pool and saunas, but the outdoor pools seemed nice especially for families

- the organization of breakfast could be better - boiled eggs and tomatoes are on the same area as fruits (I would place it with cheese and ham), but it’s just a small detail

The location was beautiful with mountain views. All the staff was very helpful and exceptionally friendly. The breakfast was worth it- complete and varied. In overall, I enjoy my stay. Will definitely recommend!

Amazing surroundings around the hotel, with beautiful views from the room as well. The breakfast was delicious, offering plenty of options to choose from—buffet-style on the weekend, while on Monday they took orders for eggs and pancakes. The beds were very comfortable, and we were offered free parking in the garage. The outdoor jacuzzi and indoor saunas were great. The staff at the reception were very welcoming, and the sangria at the hotel bar was delicious.

The inside pool was full of children constantly jumping into the small pool and splashing water over the whole place and other hotel guests who tried to relax. None of the hotel employees did anything about it. Mandatory swimming caps inside the spa which they offered but charged us for them.

Staff are super polite and welcoming, they went above and beyond to help celebrate an important day for us. Everything was clean and up to standards! Food was very good. Views were amazing! Will definitely be going back.

A little expensive, busy at the weekend

Stylish, comfortable hotel located towards the top of a valley with good views. Situated within walking distance of a small town approximately 1.5 miles or 3km each way. The underground car park with lift access was convenient.The restaurant staff were all exceptional. They were also very observant in seating couples at the opposite end if the restaurant to loud families with children. Much appreciated. Thank you. Wine recommendations were also good.

The buffet meals were disappointing when compared to those cooked to order. After a while they were left cold as the heat lamps didn't seem to work. Some rather noisy children and families were annoying in general but specifically in the restaurant. No permanent bar tender meant it took quite some time to order a drink. Some customers just left after waiting too long to get served so perhaps the hotel is missing out here.

Excellent service in the restaurant with good breakfast and excellent buffet dinner. Attractive swimming pool of a good size.Friendly and helpful staff - special mention for Mónica in reception and Ricardo (bar/restaurant). Great view from the breakfast-room / restaurant. Nice lobby bar with reasonable prices for a hotel.

The "mountain view" room only really had a close view of the hillside. I imagine rooms on the other side of the building have better views.
