Architecture, view, amazing breakfast, superb staff

There is a road with minimal traffic between the front of the building and the mountain. There is virtually no traffic overnight.

Staff, room and food were all excellent. The only question was value for money considering where it is, but I would definitely return.

Value for money

It was an amazing stay in the mountains. We regret that we booked only one night. The restaurant is incredibly tasty and the view is marvelous. Every particular detail is super beautiful and comfortable. The simple aesthetics are everywhere, and the staff are super nice and helpfull.

Everything! This is one of the best hotels in Portugal, and positive the hotel with better staff. It's unbelivable the staff effort to make us feel at home. And that's how we felt! The food, the live músic, the room, the increbidle swimming pool, the walking tour with Rodrigo!

Well kept and spacious.

There was only heat in all the property. We had to sleep with the balcony door open to be able to breathe. During dinner, other guest were taking theirs clothes off in order to withstand the heat. An abomination.

The restaurant

The room was dirty, the staff was unprepared: they didn't even help me with my bags at checkout. The fitness room has been under renovation for over 1 year. Pillows and bed horribles.

The location and the views are outstanding. The hotel offers an afternoon tea which is a big bonus. The guided walks they provide are nice to do — we made two different routes on two different days and both were wonderful.

I found the service at the restaurant veeeery slow. For example, I asked for the milk for my coffee; at the time the milk arrived, my coffee was almost cold already. The quantity of food (not the quality!) offered on the main table was very small so the plates become empty very quickly, especially when several people arrive at breakfast at the same time. The hotel replenished the plates, of course, but sometimes it took, again, so much time! We booked sauna for 12h00. At 12h17 it was cold (switched off). So I had to go and ask what was wrong. They just forgot to switch it on. Not an issue, of course, we still managed to go to sauna, but we had to wait till it gets heated. If the sauna requires booking, shouldn't it be ready to easy at the time booked?The towels in the sauna area were missing on the first day. Of course, you can ask and they give the towels, but.....when you pay 600€ per night, you expect that the towels are always available (without asking).

Beautiful surroundings, very remote, quiet place. The indoor pool is very nice too. The food was amazing! Breakfast and dinner. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great place to get downtime.

I wish the sitting area could be closed off from the bedroom, so we could have light and sound while our child slept. And I am very sensitive to light and thought the air conditioning on light was too bright in the bedroom.

The restaurant and food. The service and the politness of the staff. I appreciated the facilities of the room (coffee machine, tea, small cookies). I loved the shower: good stream and temperature.

the food was all amazing. the location is magical. the staff are charming and very helpful. lots to explore nearby (by car) and great walks to do too. beautiful decor throughout. lovely emphasis on sustainability in the products too.

our room in the original booking was pretty small, but we expected that and had the cheapest rate and reserved late. but there was a problem with some small thing and they just transferred us to a much bigger better room without hesitation.

Overall pleasant stay thanks to friendly restaurant staff, very good breakfast & dinner with a nice view. Unique original decoration & style.

Price is very overrated with somewhat misleading pictures. More a boutique hotel not 5 star. Advertised as air-conditioned rooms. However, in September only heating in the room no A/C so had to keep window open which allowed many insects & flies to enter. Hot shower water bit inconsistent. Reception staff not showing much customer service at times. Not much todo or see within walking distance. The basic room on the small side.

Incredible location, beautiful facilities and brilliant staff. We didn't realise we had a snack time and cocktail hour included in our stay which was great. The information provided about local walks was great. The restaurant was also brilliant. A wonderful experience.

The air conditioning didn't work properly. The room was lovely but a little small for the price. We would have appreciated more of an indoor sitting area.

Sommelier was a bit too/ overattentive. And the last mile to the hotel a bit dangerous

We loved everything from the exceptional service, to cozy and intimate feel of the accommodation and facilities and nothing could beat the views across the mountain range and into the valley - it was surreal and very special.

Beautiful hotel in the Serra da Estrela mountains. Our bedroom was nicely furnished and extremely comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful (e.g. preparing us a packed lunch for our hike, ironing a shirt before dinner, reserving spa facilities). Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were delicious and we enjoyed stunning views. Highly recommended if you want a quiet break in nature (and worth the drive!)

Everything was amazing, great service, very nice staff and excellent value for money. Great location.

We loved almost everything! There were 2 not crucial issues that I would consider to improve:1) The dinner was a bit not in line in terms of taste with the general level of the hotel. The food presentation was great and also the service. 2) there was a bit of noise from the cars at the road near our suite.

This is a truly special hotel in an amazing location. Every detail is considered, from the room design, the textiles (wool of course!), the meals, the spa, and the service. We have stayed at many luxury hotels around the world and this is a truly memorable place. Also the staff is very kind and helpful. Highly recommend!

Nothing, it was all perfect.

Beautifully designed hotel located in the picturesque surroundings. We really enjoyed spa, sauna and massage were great. Dinner was delicious. We could not enjoy our stay more and we hope to come back

The only small issue were very thick blankets that were too warm for summer season. However, I am sure this matter could be solved if we stayed longer than one night

Amazing view, very relaxing atmosphere, great breakfast! The spa was also very good.
