Great place for a family getaway. Great rooms with separate bedrooms if you are traveling with children, on-site restaurant and bar (if you are too tired or lazy to venture into town by car (a few minutes away)), on-site swimming pools (during the warm months), and what turned out to be a total win was an indoor playground for the kids (when the weather is bad). The restaurant's menu is focused on locally farmed Spanish meats so if your vegan/vegetarian, your options may be limited, but if you like your steak and jamon, this is heaven.

Nothing to not like

The rooms were clean and comfortable. We missed the fact that pool was closed while booking (all the pictures said otherwise). So that was a huge disappointment since it was super hot outside.

Wedding at the venue! We didn't expect that. It was quite a huge party with load music.

A fun old style hotel. We got “take-out” from the restaurant to bring to our room for our kids as they served it on a nice serving tray which our kids loved.

The pool is only open from noon-8. The pool was the primary reason we picked this place and we didn’t get to swim in it due to the limited hours.

Everything was great. In my opinion there are still a few things to renew the property. It felt a little bit "to be made".

The swimming pool wasn't ready for use. It's the beginning of 2025 spring, but for a hotel I think the swimming pool should be clean and we'll taken care of.

nothing…very noisy old and rancid

I was denied a bottle of water after spending 97€ at the restaurant. They tried to pass off old contaminated water in an already open bottle as fresh.

The exterior of the hotel was very beautiful, including the lobby. The room that we stayed in was adequate, at best. It looked exactly how it is in the photos. I would not call it a 4-star hotel due to the lack of things that 4-star hotels usually have, such as a kettle, slippers and toiletries. The room smelled very humid, despite not being close to any body of water. Later we found water spots on the ceiling, which probably caused the smell. The shower head was falling off the attachment and was partially broken. If we didn’t get a handsome deal on this hotel, I would not have gone.

Good restaurants, friendly staff, room is very clean and spacious.

Although we didn't have breakfast it looked very good.

The solitary quiet location. The luxuary inside hotel en room. Very refined. The warmth (literaly) in side.

There were plenty of rooms to choose. But md and a couple (male/female) no other guests. Why putting us next to each other (noise of shower etc)?Nothing else.

The place is amazing, thefood is super good. It's a close enough from the city, if you go by car, but there is a lot to do inside the hotel. Super recommended.

This hotel is lovely,clean & we had a large room. Breakfast was varied & more than adequate. It is well located to visit the lovely village nearby.Ideal stopover on way to Santander & we would stay here again.

The room was rather cold but the receptionist turned up the heating when asked.I did ask for an extra pillow but it didn't arrive.We had to ask for wifi code...it wasn't automatically given.

The room is spacious and has a comfortable sofa and 2 nice sitting chairs. The beds were well made with nice linens. Marisa in the restaurant was pleasant and remembered me from my last stay. It is always nice to be acknowledged as a repeat guest. In the morning I only have coffee, and Tamara, the breakfast server, was very nice to chat with for a few minutes about the area and she made a great espresso.

I could hear the muffled conversation of the couple in the adjoining room. It would be nice to have a light by the sitting/desk area.

Fairly traditional lovely Spanish hotel in beautiful grounds, within easy reach of Cuidad which we loved discovering. Comfortable rooms, good restaurant, and friendly staff.

The room was large and the beds were comfortable. We could have lived in that room for a time and been very happy. We didn't have the breakfast but the coffee/espresso was great and the restaurant staff was very accommodating. The desk staff was cooly professional.

Beautiful setting near a medieval town. Comfortable amenities which accommodated us as a family.

The only setback was that the pool was not open for use even though the weather & temperature was very warm. Would have been nice to have time to lie in lounge chairs by the pool.

Location, gardens and the great Restaurant on site where we had a great meal in a wonderful atmosphere.

The swimming pool was closed! we were expecting to spend the afternoon refreshing from the heat but it closed for the season on August 31st. Not really acceptable considering the good weather in the first 2 weeks of September, at least.
