Gran Hotel

Breakfast is very simple, but it's free. Staff are very friendly.

Location is terrible. Next to a very busy road. There is so much noise and pollution that you can barely sleep at night.The room and bathroom are very outdated. It's like looking back in the 70s in communist block.

Everyone was very helpful and very kind. We appreciated that there was water available daily to fill our water bottles. Breakfast was very simple but very yummy. Thank you!!

It’s not only a room but an apartment with a large living room. Has a strong safe to store valuables. Amazing shower, retractable mirror etc. In the city center and with private parking included.

The breakfast could be better. But it’s ok in Colombia. No cakes and counted eggs.

rooms and hotel was dated. but in very good condition, noise due to having windows open for ventilation.

Fantastic location, lovely staff - especially Diego on Reception at night, big room with a balcony.

Hotel is a bit tired (it must have been fantastic when it was new!), although the lovely staff make up for any shortcomings.

Having a balcony was amazing. The room was spacious.

Its a basic older property that is well taken care of. The staff was GREAT. They did my laundry in a few hours so i could travel with clean clothes.

View from swimmingpool was less than expected.Lot of street noise although I was in one of the highest levels.One elevator was broken down, it looks for a longer time. So i advice to book for one night or ask if both elevators work. Imagine having to walk 11 floors when the other one is not functioning.The area (old downtown) is not very safe at night. For going out you better go to Paradero, but this gets really bizzy in the weekends.

A very basic hotel, certainly not four stars.

The hotel is very basic and needs a complete refurbishment. The bed is extremely hard and uncomfortable.

I liked that it had a pool and a gym and the staff was on with me Checking in early at 11am.

The pool and gym were under construction and not available, the gym was only cardio and had no free weights. The guy at the front desk was quite rude and laughed when I asked if I could check in early and said check in is only at 3pm. This is in contrast to what they has preciously told me through booking when I asked if I could check in early, they said yes. Quite unreliable.

The staff is very friendly and the location is great Cristina and Diego are excellent

The water from the shower ? came out, and it made me feel bad

Staff, the Staff and the Staff was wonderfull. Breakfast was good. Hotel is very clean. Location was perfect, in walking distance for the docters appointments we had.

The street noise at night.

The breakfast was very good. The staff was very receptive and courteous. Although I know little spanish, they were very patient with me.

The beds were hard and stiff. The noise was not good, but I understood that I was near the main avenue.

Breakfast was good. Had a safe and fridge.

The hot water in the shower was not easy to use.

The room did not have A/C, only a table fan, that was a surprise for me.

You have to watch your belongings and never leave Anything in your room Unattended. Very bad.

The hotel rooms are not secure. The cameras don't provide views of some entrance doors to the rooms. In the morning I left a wrist watches on the table(and the table is a step away from the entrance door) and when I came back to the room in the late afternoon the $200 watches were stolen. I paid for the stay $188 and I asked to return that money for my stay. The manager watched the video camera records but camera line of view wasn't even close to the entrance door area. She refused to compensate me for my loss "Because I had to keep All valuables in the safe". I didn't consider leaving my personal belongings ( like $200 watches) in the Closed door room is a Problem. It's not Real Valuables but Now I understand that I had to hide almost everything. I'm very disappointed that Hotel management decided that This wasn't a Big deal. In there opinion I was "negligent" and The hotel doesn't do anything about it. Yes, I understand that Legally they are not responsible for any customers losses but I believe that Compensating me for the loss (what I had paid for my stay) should not be a problem for such a big (13 stories) hotel in the Center of Medellin. I have Very Bad Impression about my stay. The breakfasts are very simple(all the same for 6 days: coffee, orange juice, Chocolate and small portion of scrambled eggs with little piece of soft cheese. Yes, toasts were there, and butter with jam.

Hotel Gran was in a nice location. There is a restaurant right next to it which is open 24 hours. We never felt unsafe walking to the restaurant in the night time. Everyone was very friendly, they booked cabs and tours for us in moments notice to go everywhere.

No A/C although it was not an issue and actually liked living without A/C. Standing Fan was loud. It was hot without the fan.

Spacious clean room. Accommodating staff at breakfast. Comfortable bed. Near the center of city. Balcony was an excellent touch. Check in a breeze.

Louvers did not close fully. A bit noisy from traffic.
