Gorgeous view, charming interiors, very friendly and helpful staff, especially Bakay who cared for our dinner accommodations.
Massage was not possible during a peak Feiertag due to staff shortage and no replacement.

Helpful staff overall, some abrupt answers to our questions, breakfast was good, parking in the rain was fine, overall good experience.

I think the hotel should consider installing mosquito screen on the windows because all sorts of insects were flying into the room and the toilet. Some of the staff don’t speak english
ROOM AND RECEPTIONWe stayed in a deluxe room, and it was just the perfect size. The balcony had a stunning lake view, which is why I chose this specific room anyway. Reception was lovely and very welcoming.FOOD AND AMENITIESThere are free drinks in the fridge, refilled every day. The breakfast buffet was solid, with a nice mix of options, including some Bavarian items like obatzda. Plus, they serve free cakes and coffee in the afternoon! They’ve also got a sauna and a big outdoor garden where you can just chill.
One downside was that, like many places in Western Europe, the rooms don’t have air conditioning. It got pretty warm, which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable. I think it would be great if this place could start putting standing fans in the rooms. I've been in an Austrian hotel that did this. It’s an easy fix that would make a big difference for guests' comfort in warmer weather
Breakfast was good . Well spread out.Lake View from the Room was amazing. Room was comfortable.
Tea/coffee/kettle in the the room would make it even better
The view over the lake was stunning, both from the room and from the breakfast room terrace. The room was cozy, well-appointed and charmingly Bavarian in style. Best of all: the receptionist, a young man who made it a point to speak your language (he surprised me with how good his Spanish was) and absolutely helpful, mailing us some stuff we forgot in the room. To top it all off, breakfast was also very good. I definitely recommend this place which, although a bit strenous to get to on foot from the lake below, is definitely worth every cent.
Excellent locationGreat breakfast and great room
The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good. The bathroom is large, with nice heated floors.
No smoking on the outside balcony. The shower never quite closed fully and would get water on the floor easily.
I recently had revisited Der Westerhof Hotel, a decade after my first stay, and I was truly amazed by the expansion and improvements that have taken place by Dr. Andreas Greither. Their commitment to growth and improvement over the past 10 years is truly commendable, and the results speak for themselves. During this visit, I stayed in one of their Senior Suites, which was incredibly spacious and comfortable. The room was tastefully decorated and well-appointed, making it a relaxing home away from home. The highlight of the suite, though, was undoubtedly the stunning view of Lake Tegernsee. Waking up to such a beautiful sight each morning was a real treat.
At the hotel, we noticed that only a small number of staff members were proficient in English, which presented minor communication challenges. It was evident that the hotel was experiencing staff shortages. This contrasted with my visit a decade ago when all staff members were fluent in English and went above and beyond to offer additional services.
Perfect location, lovely people, nice views.
Priceless view over Tegernsee! Fantastic & comfy room. Super nice service.
The sleeping couch in the living room ;-) Looks nice, but it's a bit of a back killer for the night (for adults).. It was still very fine for our daughter.
Beautiful scenery, Bavarian decor.
It was expensive - a little harsh on the pocketbook but a beautiful property.
great view, clean rooms, friendly staff
The location and mainly the views are stunning.
we selected the hotel as we could charge our e-car. However the hotel was only reachable in the evening due to road maintenance. you would think this is not an issue as you could charge at night. However as the construction work stared at 8 in the morning it meant that you had to remove your car from the hotel parking or else you could not leave. The strange thing was that there was an alternative road, but this was not allowed for guest. Clearly only local residents were allowed to use this. Parking was possible at the road lower to the hotel or at a paid parking lot 10min walking. The hotel did not offer any alternative or compensation, nor did they support on helping with the luggage from and to the car when parked at the public street or parking lot. Not very customer friendly. Although the construction work was not their doing, the hotel could have done a lot more to support their guests.
They list the breakfast as a Continental Buffet, but it is truly a wonderful hot/cold buffet with a wonderful choice of food. The view is spectacular! The wellness area with 2 different kinds of saunas was also a very pleasant surprise.
The fitness room could be better kept up.I wish they did dinner there as driving home after dinner is a little challening with that steep mountain road. That said, taxis are inexpensive there.
Spectacular view from the Room's balcony.Great staff that helped with a complex booking across multiple friends.Wonderful German breakfast.Really nothing to complain about!
The drive up to the Hotel is very steep, but that comes with the landscape! The hotel therefore is hardly walk-distance, as it's a very steep, long uphill path from the town center. Not something to complain about, just a fact that's not easily visible from a map :)
