- Beautiful setting and building. Friendly staff.
- Fabulous hotel in a historical monastery right in the town center with private parking, and the price of the stay was very reasonable. The setting was great, the room and bathroom were clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable. Staff were helpful, breakfast was fine and dinner also.
Cons -
- Despite being advertised as having a bar, we were told there was nowhere to have a drink on the premises unless ordered with lunch or dinner.
- There are a lot of steps to climb to and from the hotel entrance as you walk into town so a bit tough on the old knees. The hotel could do with a bar on property ( but the town has plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby).
- The only other thing I would ask for is a small fridge in the room.

The room is simple, comfortable. The Monesterio is lovely. The decoration in the Monesterio is thoughtful & the gardens/plants are gorgeous. The bfast is good with lots of options. The staff is friendly & helpful.

If you like history, atmosphere and character, you can’t beat this place. There IS parking; it can be a bit tight. We had lunch here- it was good, as was the breakfast. Make sure you see the basilica and take the monastery tour.
We loved staying in an authentic monastery and being able to experience the peace and tranquility if offered. We drove there from the north over the mountains which was quite beautiful. You can walk from the hospederia into the monastery which is still being used. Accommodation is quite spartan but comfortable. Good value.
The bar was not open so we had to eat in the restaurant with the usual Spanish hours. i.e dinner after 9 pm. The food was traditional and we are vegetarian. Tricky! There are local eateries very near in the square but it was raining heavily so we stayed put.
Historic building and location. Lovely staff and a great restaurant.
The whole stay was excellent, the staff were both efficient and friendly. Parking for our 4 motorcycles was just outside the main entrance. The building is amazing and Guadalupe is very pleasant and interesting town with lots of places to eat and drink. The breakfast good with ample choice. It was the most expensive hotel on our trip but was worth every penny.
Beautiful historic setting. We loved the peace and quiet and coolness of the building.
The property is amazing! it is like staying in a castle. It is beautiful!! very unique. In fact it was a castle . It is a monastery and a gorgeous basilica, and a hotel. Absolutely a unique experience! I highly recommend it. There is no place like this one!!
The Monastery and basilica is so unique so exceptional there is not a thing not to like . The staff is absolutely fantastic, friendly, professional, outstanding! Every staff member is friendly, helpful beyond belief. Tersa, Jesus, Raul, Mari Jose, all professional, friendly, helpful beyond the call of duty.
Beautiful historic building right in the centre. Very comfortable. This is the second time we have stayed here and would stay again.
The bar and cafeteria were closed for some reason
The ambiance is wonderfull. To sleep in such a decorated convent is beautifull. You can sit in 2 beautifull patios. The breakfast is good. A lot of choice and we had dinner. It was good to with very nice service. The rooms are quiet and big also through the high ceiling
The room is big with high ceiling. But even with the airco it was hot. We missed a hairdryer and a watercooker for tea. For the price you expect a little more of this little extra's
Wonderful location. Spacious bedroom with great character. Old world charm. Good parking.
It’s historical significance and location. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
The car parking was good but difficult to find. We parked in the town square first and a local person helped us with directions. To reach the car park we had to drive up a steep very narrow road with cars parked on the side which looked like it was one way only but was not. Only being able to hire a large vehicle it took some driving sklll to reach the car park without incident. We would recommend that better signage be placed at key points to assist people.
If you ever want to sleep in a real monasterium, with gorgeous courtyard, this is you place. Good breakfast, it is so beautiful inside and outside.
The historic location means that the rooms are a bit smaller, a bit more noise etc…
The reception staff, both on arrival and departure, were extremely friendly, courteous and efficient. The location is superb and the building is very interesting both visually and historically and possesses most modern comforts for a one night stay. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and offered good value for money. Conveniently located car parking.
To describe the breakfast as mediocre would be an unworthy compliment. Poor quality and selection (absence) of items - the scrambled eggs, when they arrived, were simply inedible. Coffee was awful (from machine), but orange juice was surprisingly good. The morning we were there it felt as if the breakfast attendant had either: just lost €50 but then found €20, or, maybe just didn't like Mondays? Either way she offered no smiling greeting to any of the guests and undertook a great deal of noisy laying of lunch tables around those trying to enjoy a quiet breakfast - cutlery dropped on floor, clattering of crockery and hurried wheeling of laden trolleys! Not a relaxing atmosphere at all!

The magnificent building and decoration. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The wifi is on and off.
Our overnight stay was duly an experience. Our room was right off the gothic cloisters and of a height, I had never experienced before. The location is attached to the monastery and it was possible to park for free right outside the entrance. Guadalupe is worth a visit even if you are not Catholic and the surrounding woods and mountains are breathtaking. We had breakfast at the hotel and it was sort of extensive by Spanish standards, as scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages (very nice, need to be tried) for the English visitors and a feeble selection of cheese and ham for the German visitors were on offer in a buffet style. A coffee machine supplied any type of coffee you wanted. The beds were very comfortable.
Perhaps less choice at breakfast and a higher quality? A typical Spanish breakfast with tostadas and a bit of jamon , cheese and tomatoes would have done for us (my husband is English, I am Austrian). No need to bend over backwards for us, we are happy with local food.
Stunning location and accommodation. Have stayed here before, and would happily return when passing through this area again. Rooms simple and spacious. Breakfast excellent. Staff helpful and friendly.
