    • Gorgeous views, excellent service & food.
    • Our stay at Hotel Le Maquis was a truly relaxing escape. The sea view room with its private balcony quickly became our sanctuary—there’s something magical about falling asleep and waking up to the sound of waves. We ended up taking more naps than usual, lulled by the peaceful rhythm of the sea.The hotel itself has a quiet charm. Though it’s an older property and could benefit from updated furniture and a refreshed interior design, its cozy, intimate feel makes up for it. What stood out most was the genuine warmth of the staff—welcoming, attentive, and always helpful. We especially loved the sense of privacy the hotel offered. It feels tucked away from the typical tourist paths, which added to its serene atmosphere. The private beach, while a bit rocky and with some seaweed, was still lovely to relax by and swim. One unexpected delight was the shower in our room—it had a window facing the sea, turning a daily ritual into a moment of connection with nature. Dining on the terrace at the hotel’s restaurant was another highlight—great food paired with stunning views. We also made good use of the tennis court and treated ourselves to a fantastic massage with Natasha, which left us feeling completely rejuvenated. If you’re looking for a peaceful, slightly nostalgic, and intimate retreat in Corsica with beautiful sea views, Hotel Le Maquis is a wonderful choice.
    • The indoor pool was nice

    Cons -

    • 1. I wish hotel would do something about a huge pile of seaweed lying on the beach.2. Would be great to have a more comfortable bed with an actual king-size mattress. 3. Furniture in the foyer of the lobby needs to be more comfortable to sit on, and should be updated.
    • The ridiculously overpriced breakfast, overpriced extras, shower faucet unable to control hot and cold water, this hotel needs a fresh up and renovation. We didn’t like the old fashioned style.
    • Cant think of anything

The Maquis is a real old world experience. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a private balcony and a lovely view across the bay to Ajaccio. Fabulous outdoor and indoor pools and lovely gardens. Staff and welcoming and very helpful. The fine dining experience was excellent. Plenty of free parking. Only hotel with a private beach - unfortunately it was raining so didnt have a chance to visit.

The location on the beach is amazing.

Breakfast was really expensive and not very good.

Location fabulous and gorgeous swimming in sea. Dinner good. Breakfast overpriced but service good

    10NicholasPosted on: 7-5-2024

An idyllic setting, room with a panoramic Seaview, attentive service, friendly and helpful staff, a restaurant setting to die for(!), and a chef and waiting staff of exceptional quality. A remarkable hotel in a brilliant setting. Our thanks to all staff and management team.

Nothing, see above, truly nothing to criticise.

    10PhilippPosted on: 10-31-2023

A wonderful and calm place, perfectly situated to enjoy the beach privately, relax and appreciate the hotel‘s beautiful facilities. The staff is exceedingly attentive and kind. The restaurant serves extraordinary good and local food.

    9VenetiaPosted on: 9-18-2023

Location by the beach excellent. A pity that the seaweed has built up a lot since we last stayed two years ago. However we still had a very nice time.

Shame the restaurant is no longer Michelin starred but the food and service were both good.

    9MaureenPosted on: 7-2-2023

Professional and yet friendly. Elegance without fuss.

    Soggy chips.

It is an amazing hotel, exclusive, excellent, and exceptional. Very comfortable and welcoming. It is all located in Porticcio, not far from Ajaccio but far enough to make it quiet and clean and amazing. The staff is amazing, the rooms have everything that you may need, even more.

    10DomenicoPosted on: 8-28-2022

Amazing location. Private beach. Beautiful room (priceless opening the window on the beach every morning). Superb view from the restaurant (very nice service, also in room). Staff always kind and available.

Everything was perfect. Really. As the only suggestion, considering all the food service is provided by the elegant restaurant of the hotel, maybe increasing the offer with some more easy-going choices would not be a bad idea (sometimes on the seaside, even thought a refined offer is appreciated, people are just looking for something uncomplicated).

    10TrudiPosted on: 8-25-2022

I had a beachside room with terrace overlooking the beach -just stunning. The restaurant here was both anazing and delicious with dinner and lunch served on the terrace next to the pool.

    not much!

excellent food, nice pool and beach. great hospitality. loved the hotel cat!

distance from retail and other restaurants. could be more helpful arranging day trips/activities. they were very helpful arranging taxis for activities we found on our own.

    - Very nice setting in front of the sea. - Very good breakfast and we had an amazing dinner there too. - We enjoyed the swimming pool and the stand up paddles- Attention to details like the Guerlain shower gels- The service was excellent, friendly staff

    - The room looked a bit outdated and quite below our expectations given the price, especially the bathroom which looked poorly renovated. - We had one unclean bathrobe (hair and stains) which again surprised us for a hotel of this standing

    8GabrielPosted on: 6-14-2022

I loved the location. Perfectly situated on the water. Romantic setting. Luxurious but cozy and not ostentatious. Experienced personnel. Professional. Quiet. Secluded. Charming. Really nice private beach, with beach beds, umbrellas and drink/food service. Great breakfast and great waiter. And really nice toiletries from Guerlain!

Dinner could have been better. It’s a beautiful setting but it wasn’t fantastic. At least not what we would expect from a 5 star hotel. We don’t eat certain fish or seafood and random fishes were added to our plate that were not on the menu. I like to have an iron in the room. Although they offer a laundry service, certain things I prefer to do myself since some items may be delicate. We heard a dog from the room next door. Toiletries are only replenished in the evening and I like when they are replenished in the morning and evening. Specially, since we showered multiple times because of the heat, beach and pool. The bed was a bit hard. The bed cover was red and old. Should be updated. The bathroom was updated but not luxurious (example: basic tiles as opposed to marble, etc)

    10VenetiaPosted on: 9-24-2021

It was all wonderful. We were upgraded to a superior room on beach which was fabulous. The restaurant for dinner and breakfast was superb, both the quality of food and the service.the staff were friendly and extremely helpful.

    Nothing!

The excellent service, the private beach and tennis.

The beach was full of l’intelletto flies impossible to be on the beach. Same problem on the terras of our room
