Pros +
- Location and proximity to the river. Staff was friendly at times.
- The view from my room was beautiful.
- It's secluded, located next to a river. Great amenities.
Cons -
- The worst food we ever had in the Dominican Republic.
- Breakfast with no much variety, looks like: I offer free breakfast, so it doesn't have to be good: No real fruit juice. Fruit plate have no taste. Tortilla dripping oil. After 3 days you rather eat someplace else.
- The place is amazing beautiful but has no offer. Pools closed at 7 pm, breakfast is between 7 to 9 am that is very early hour to wake up on vacation and the staff they are educated but not kind

Excellent location by the river. Awesome service! Great place!!!
Place is because, location is convenient

The beds and pillows are very confortable, the restaurant has a nice menu and it's not expensive, the river view is amazing, the extra activities are nice (you have to pay extra) they have an ATM right there, spa
Staff is very professional. They are all very friendly and ready to help with anything you have to ask. ?? The resort is beautiful with mountain views and a river running right beside it.The breakfast is amazing and included. A great start to a day of hiking, golf, or watersports.
Nothing to complain.
location
The staff were incompetent, slow, and inattentive. The room was terrible and uncomfortable.
Beautiful location. Great food.
Rooms are very noisy. Lots of cigarette smoke.
The gardens within which the buildings sit are fabulous and the location on the bend of the river is lovely. We saw hummingbirds from the deck.
The reception staff were close to hostile and totally uninterested in customer service. There was unbelievably loud music opposite our room, coming from the pool area, we were staying 4 nights and asked for a quieter room, but we're told that would be another USD 317 to move as there were no other rooms of our category available, which was hard to believe given the hotel had very low occupancy (so low 3 mornings there was no breakfast buffet and you had to order as guest numbers were so low). The cleaners were so happy and polite, the reception staff do not want to be there, however.. The bathroom had a wooden ceiling and was starting to rot. The bedroom was tired and the mattress sagged. The one dinner we had was fine but with painful service from unhappy staff. The staff really need some training. Or perhaps the garden staff should take over as the grounds are so lovely, so there are some people here proud of the work and hotel, but not those who engage with the guests.
The view having breakfast
The 1st room the lock didn’t work and we had to go request another room
Gorgeous location on the river, with lovely gardens!
The staff was unfriendly, untrained, unhelpful and incompetent. Room had no hot water. Restaurant had unbelievably bad service — up to 1.5 hours for food order to come, staff totally ignored customers.
Location, and decor
Not very buttoned up. Did not get the room I asked for, instead my room was given to another family member we were traveling with. Our room was missing hangers, iron/ ironing board, shampoo and soap were also missing.
Clean towels, and working ac
Dirty, uncomfortable, there was a dead cockroach at the corner of the room. The curtains were see-through and couldn’t get sleep.
Location was amazing. Staff was wonderful. Massage was so peaceful!
Bugs inside and rooms small and old.
All the green vegetation and the river...breakfast was A1
Tv didn't work..but who want to watch it anyway in this paradise.
Location, it is the beautiful river Jimenoa, but unfortunately (out of their control) it was not swimmable because the water was murky from rains previously during the week. The grounds are great and nicely kept.
The bartender plays loud music by the pool which is only to his liking. We were in nature expecting to hear the birds and the river, unfortunately that is not the case. there does not seem to be anyone in charge or checking on the customers satisfaction while onsite. The renovated bathrooms in the old building are nice but VERY small, expect to be uncomfortable. The WIFI is terrible, which is OK when on a retreat, bad if you need to do some work.We had dinner in the main restaurant, the food took over 1 hour to be served and once we got it, it was not good. It was not what we expected and we were all left disappointed. The service staff were great but a tad pushy on the upsells. If he were working for me, I would be happy to have him to boost the ticket value, but he did not get our drift when we declined most of the upsells. He did remain friendly.Breakfast the next morning was much better, the. service staff were less trained yet friendly, but the food was good. We would return for the location but hope that there be someone in management that would act as a proper host.
Great location once you get there. Beautiful story like setting. The breakfast was delicious and a great value The staff was very professional and provided excellent service. I will definitely book again!
It can be tricky to find. More signage will help.
The palace is amazing has a river and the entrance is stunning
The staff was a bit disappointed when we arrived the the breakfast no one explain us how the breakfast was and 3 people there were just doing something in the computer. No one explained us that have a sit and we have a menu. While i decided to booked a room near the pool and the music was too loud.
The food at the restaurant was nice. The grounds were beautiful. It was very nice to be surrounding by nature and the sound of the river.
There was no hot water. The water has a "sewage" smell. The rooms are not updated. No microwave, no iron or iron board. There is a serious lack of ventilation in the rooms which causes a mildew smell.
