    Pros +

    • Great location, comfy beds, great breakfast, all excellent
    • The fabulous horses. ! ! And the guide who explained the interesting details about the care provided to them. And the beautiful show
    • If you plan to see the Lippizaner Stud Farm, this is the perfect site! Rooms are modern and steampunk like. Breakfast was good. Sign up for a free Casino membership to get a three course meal for great value!

    Cons -

    • The room was a bit too small
    • Bed frame ripped my leg open- very sharp. Biting flies in restaurant left huge welts-wear pants.
    • Bed was too firm. Room had great lighting, but lamp wires were hanging everywhere. Broken towel rack propped against wall.

The hotel is very stylish and modern  and the staff are extremely nice. Very clean. Yes the room is small, but it is laid out well. The breakfast was wanderful. The location is perfect. It was a great pleasure to stay in this hotel and I definitely recommend it to everyone who wants to explore and relax, especially for Alpe Adria hikers.

Tranquility. Location is perfect. Theme of hotel, in line with the horses, is excellent! Great restaurant and hotel/restaurant staff.

Bed was too firm. Room had great lighting, but lamp wires were hanging everywhere. Broken towel rack propped against wall.

The territory and the restaurant are very decent.

The lady at the reception was not polite from the beginning, so that negatively affected the first impression.

    5BrianPosted on: 9-26-2025

It was close to the Lipica stud farm.

The TV showed another persons last name. They got the name wrong it kind of ruined the feeling and personal feel that they were trying to achieve

The hotel is located in a beautiful area. The rooms are stylishly decorated and very clean, but not very spacious. We also really missed having a minibar in the room.

Not very spacious roomsNo minibar in the room

If you are looking to enjoy or take lessons on the Lipizanner horses, this is an ideal location right on the horse farm. You are surrounded by hundreds of beautiful horses and you are near the exhibition areas to watch them in training. The grounds are beautiful and there are lovely hiking trails.

This hotel has a strange, cold, steely feeling- in odd contrast to the lovely horse farm grounds. The restaurants are virtually empty. The buffet food is mediocre at best. The ala carte restaurant is somewhat better but the service is terrible. You have to flag waiters down continually. I was often the only person in the room The decor is very cold with lots of concrete, grey color and metal. It seems oddly in contrast with the beautiful environment outside. Attached to the hotel is a casino. I never saw a soul go in there. A casino is strangely out of character with the gorgeous horse farm. It would have been way better as a spa. There are no amenities such as that to speak of. If you want a decent meal with good service you have to take a taxi into one of the nearby villages. Taxi fares are enormously expensive. The room is oddly equipped. There is no master light switch. Every light has its own switch and there is a tangle of cords everywhere. A flourescent tube over the sink has a switch that is virtually invisible. I had to call someone to come find it to turn the light off at midnight. There is no pricing list for laundry; you just place everything in a bag and turn it in, so if you want to keep track, you have to write it down yourself. I did not have a working tv in the room and it had to be replaced. Ther is no bedside stand to put anything on, no safe, and the floor of the shower is slick as ice with no handles. The plug for the coffee pot is incredibly difficult to reach. The pot is very large; but the cups are the size of thimbles. There are only tea bags--no coffee, sugar or creamer and nothing to stir with. The hotel seems to have a relationship with the horse farm, as there are photos and art work of horses on the walls; but the staff seem quite disconnected and have no knowledge of happenings at the stables.

The location, ambient, restaurant and the beautiful nature, horses just a step away

There could be more offer from the local farmers, local food to buy in the shop (seems empty at the moment)

Well-designed hotel with good location (on the horse farm territory), close to the Italian border and to Trieste.Plenty of parking places.Clean and comfortable room.Good breakfast. Many attractions are on the horse farm (with a 10% discount for the hotel guests).Possible for walking along horse pastures.

The location to Trieste was convenient and the breakfast selection was good. The breakfast staff was amazingly efficient.

This hotel has the coldest, most unwelcoming feel of any we’ve booked in 45 years of traveling throughout Europe. The rooms are dark, with cement floors and ceilings. The fixtures are black iron and the lighting is hanging from cords throughout the room. The shower is a handheld with no place to rest the head. There was a hot water pot in the room for coffee but we were told they no longer have coffee packets!!The “vision “ was to give a stable-like feel from the Lipizzan horses on the property but they missed the mark by a long shot!!

Spacious and cozy hotel on the border with Italy. Quiet and comfortable atmosphere. Modern rooms and generous breakfasts. Expect full occupancy on weekends. Free parking. There's also a casino on-site.

    9GeraldPosted on: 7-8-2025

The breakfast was very nice, plenty of seating and great coffee machines

Shower head was a little difficult to maneuver

    6MarkoPosted on: 6-30-2025

The hotel is in the midst of the idyllic horse stable surroundings. Proximity to the seaside, Postojnska jama, and Italy.

Breakfast choices were really poor and the same every day. The whole hotel is built into the unfinished wall and ceiling style. Concrete on the floor, walls, and ceiling is visible. Some like these and some do not. There are no light switches on the walls. Every light fixture has its own switch, which you have to switch on/off separately. The hotel is marked as a 4-star hotel, but there is no pool available. There is no fitness available. The hotel is three stars at best. If it were not in the middle of the really beautiful horse stables with Lipizaner horses running around the meadows, the hotel would not last long.

The location is spectactular - in the middle of greenery with 300 horses as decoration. Just awesome. It's simply another world.Wifi works very well. Breakfast is good. Attractive design language throughout hotel combining wood and steel.

Lunch and dinner menue are a bit limited, not many options. On Saturday evening, the parking lot was overflowing due to the Casino nearby.

Professional and helpful staff. Fun decor in hotel and room. LOVELY view. Access to hiking trails that were serene and peaceful.

The area and the facility was excellent for a three relaxing days. The hotel stuff and the locals were very friendly.

The way to the hotel was quite long for us, coming from abread.

Enjoiable and green location near Italy- Slovenia border. Hotel renovated in brutalist style: we liked our spacious suite with balcony. Nice dinner a la carte in the Gratja restaurant and good breakfast.

Unlucky with he weather we decided not to visit the horse centre also because the access is not for free even for hotel guests (19 euros pp!). Spa and swimming pool are closed for future renovation.. unfortunately not started yet!
