Pros +
- Good value for the money. Comfortable bed, good size room. Conveniently located; 10 minute walk from train station.
- The location is convenient, bus stops right in front of and beside the hotel, and it's just a 10–15 minute walk from the train station.
- Very clean. Great location. Loved breakfast. We were able to store our bags while we hiked. Close to train station and a bus goes right by the hotel if you would rather ride than walk to/from train station. 8 minute walk.
Cons -
- Reception staff not very friendly or informative. Restaurant staff very nice.
- The hotel is expensive. I wish there were more breakfast options - there were no scrambled eggs, sausages or bacon, which was a bit disappointing. But our overall stay was great.
- It seems that most of the hotels are along the main street which has a fair amount of traffic for a small town this one included. However this also makes it easy to catch a bus out of town for a day excursion.

The hotel is approximately half mile from the train station. We walked but you can take the 230 bus which would drop you off right at the cross street where the hotel is. The hotel was clean and well maintained, the beds were comfortable and there is a balcony that allows for a good view and fresh air. Room 207 would have a nice view more towards mountains. We stayed in 208 and the view was nice from there as well. The restaurant serves excellent meals. The restaurant is closed on Mon/Tues so you would have to find another place for your evening meals. Breakfast was good with a variety of food. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bus stops right outside the hotel. You can easily take a day trip to the town of Adelboden (bus 230) There is a pass that you can get from the hotel and then riding the bus is free. You can also take the train, but it didn't make sense to do so to this town as the ride as free and all the folks on the train had to eventually transfer to the bus anyway.

Well located in the center of Kandersteg, close to the train station, Oeschinensee Gondola,...the room was really big and well equipped, with good views on the mountains from the balcony. The staff is helpful. Good breakfast. The big plus is the sauna :)
The decoration is outdated.
Average breakfast but excellent coffee, Staff friendliness and location
Non availability of the facilities, like telephone not working , no room safety box, small refrigerator
Staff were excellent Room very clean, comfy bed. Stunning views from our room. Fast internet. Breakfast was excellent as was the coffee.
No complaints
Very clean and nice room, superb views. It has just the perfect location to start the next morning with Oechinensee hike.
We only had 1 night stay in this hotel, but we really enjoyed our time spent there. Our room was very clean, spacious, having also a terrace with amazing mountain view. The breakfast was simple, but good. The staff was very polite and accommodating.
The room was nice, spacious and clean. The location was good.
The room doesn't have a fridge and kettle. The orange juice served at breakfast was at room temperature and not chilled which was not nice. The staff could be a bit more smiley.
This place is like a fairy tale. A wonderful hotel with history, comfortable rooms, unrealistic views, delicious breakfasts and very helpful staff!

Great location. Bus 230 from station takes you there (2 stops). Room was very clean. Buffet breakfast had a good variety of food. They were able to provide soy milk due to my dairy allergy which I notified a few days ahead. It has a small elevator. They can give you a tourist card that gives free bus and train travel and discounts on gondolas. Restaurant meals are good and reasonable prices compared to others around.
All good. A sofa would be nice rather than chairs.
Very comfortable and spacious rooms in a beautiful building with amazing view to the surrounding mountains. Uncomplicated booking, check-in and check-out. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Hope to stay there again!
The staff is very kind and they speak different languages. Rooms are spacious with very nice views. The shower had very nice warm water.
Excellent breakfast. Friendly and efficient staff and a good sized room with lovely views of the mountains and town. Good fast lift to the top floors.
No evening meal on the night we arrived, but plenty of options in the town. Menu selection on second night quite limited.
The staff were very friendly and the location is very good. Please ensure to activate the city pass upon check in. It will allow you free access on public transport and also discounts on cable car and entry to lakes etc.
The breakfast for pretty ordinary considering the high charge.
Very spacious room, friendly and welcoming staff. We had breakfast and dinner there and it was delicious! Highly recommended!
The room upstairs was a bit loud
Where the hotel is situated Nice balcony with a great view of the mountains, soothing bird sounds, and a bus stop that is conveniently located (free travel with hotel city card). lovely breakfast and spacious room.(Alarmingly, another private bed) neighbouring sites, to name a few Lake Oeschinen, the tobogun run, the train station and the bus stop next to the hotel are all eight minutes' walk away. Get the city card from the hotel as a tip. The receptionist gave electric converter.Lift facility, hotel restaurant
No balcony, however we had the mountain view from the room.
Great location in Kandersteg! Very close to Blausee (10 min with the bus) and Oeschiensee Lake (10 min walk to the cable cars). I would highly recommend paying a little extra for a room with the mountain view! It was breathtaking. The hotel also offers discount tickets to some attractions, cable cars and free public transport in the area. The bus stops right in front of the hotel. Unfortunately, I didn't have the pleasure to try the breakfast, so I can't give an opinion on that, but I would definitely stay here again if I ever visit Kandersteg again.
Nothing to add. Everything was according to my liking.
