Central location, friendly & helpful staff, comfortable room, and awesome restaurant made for a terrific stay.

Location was amazing. The Mountain Views were Breathtaking. Having the Train Station within Walking Distance was a Blessing!

Wish the Room had a Refrigerator to keep Liquids Cold.

Location was really ideal to get the cable car up to Lake Oeschinensee. Amazing views of the waterfalls and mountains. I was walking / hiking with a child, and it really helped to be as close as possible to the cable car, and to the main Kandersteg train station. Claudia was exceptional ! They offered my daughter warm milk at night, and when we booked in advance for dinner, the restaurant was prepared with a colouring set for my daughter, and even allowed an earlier dinner service since she was already hungry. Very much appreciated.

We visited in September, unfortunately, on cold and mostly rainy days. The heating in the room only kicked in sometime closer to late evening. So in the late afternoon, on a cloudy day with no sun, it was a little cold. But once the heating kicked in, the nights were fine and comfortable.

This property has stood the test of time. Everything isn’t brand new but it feels quality- not cheaply renovated. It’s kept impeccably clean and feels cozy. Our room was quite roomy, lots of space to spread out. It also came with a little hot plate with pots and pans if we wished to do some basic cooking. Large balcony (I bet the views are amazing- we only stayed one night and it was cloudy and foggy for the duration of our stay). Walking distance to the train on arrival, and to the cable car that gets you to Oeschinensee.**This hotel went above and beyond when we left some items in our room upon departure. They sent our items in a package to our final hotel and we were so thankful! Truly wonderful and kind people run the place.

I would’ve loved hot breakfast. The hotel has a nice spread but to my knowledge no eggs or hot breakfast available.

Amazing location with incredible views. Surrounded by mountains, church, shops and restaurants. Hotel is very well maintained and decorated. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location walking distance to cable car to lake Oeschinensee hike. Room comfortable, breakfast delicious. Best hotel in our 2 weeks in Switzerland

Food was outstanding, view is awesome, owners were welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel welcome, room was comfortable with lovely balcony and views, sauna was great way to end the day. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in a good location for our purposes. The owners are so friendly and welcoming that we feel as if they have become our friends. We elected half board and loved our meals. They were amazing! We also enjoyed the afternoon tea and pastries they offered. My husband appreciated being able to read several of the books available to guests. We will definitely return here the next time we visit Kandersteg.

It was fairly warm while we were here, and we would have appreciated a lighter weight blanket for the bed, rather than the heavy comforter which was on it. This, however, may be our fault as we didn’t think to ask for a lighter weight option.

We absolutely loved our one night stay! It was super clean and in a great location. The owners made us very welcome and served the best meals. We came in after many hours of traveling from the USA and the dinner we had reservations for was AMAZING! We would definitely stay here again if in this area. 100% recommend!

Great location, close to the station and to the cable car, spacious room and we happened to visit on a day everyone in the town was wearing traditional clothes make it an even more enjoyable visit.

We loved the warm hospitality from the owners and the staff. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is very good and the rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Breathtaking views from my room’s balcony. The hotel atmosphere is cozy, quiet and clean. Walking distance to bus, grocery store, cable car and hiking trail to lake oeschinen. It’s a great stay for visiting Oeschinensee, Blausee (take the bus 230) and other surrounding areas. Breakfast is provided and I met the very friendly kitty who came to me for hugs?Strongly recommend and will definitely come back if I visit Kandesteg again!

They provided parking which was a huge bonus for us. It’s a great location, easy walking distance to the mountain. Offer a good breakfast and dinner which was delicious. Room was very comfortable and clean. Staff are very welcoming.

Everything was great, but the dryer I used downstairs made my clothes smell. It needs a little updating. Otherwise, everything was wonderful and I will return.

Location is convenient and the staffs are great. Great view of the mountains from our room.

The power socket is a bit far from the bed.

I visited with my friends in summer. Great panoramatic views from the hotel, absolutely amazing continental breakfast with plenty of fresh produce, I was looking forward to it every day, you cannot beat fresh bread and swiss cheese! Staff in both breakfast room and at the reception are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is close to the gondola terminal and right in the town. Coffee and tea facilities next to reception together with lovely seating area. We had a great time there I very much recommend this wonderful place.

The only suggestion, I wish there was a little fridge in the room to keep drinks cold in hot summer.
