The hotel was right across from the gondala to take you up the mountain to oeschien lake! The staff was friendly, and there was a great restaurant for dinner inside the hotel. The free breakfast had lots of options as well!

The location is perfect for those who want to visit Oeschinen lake. We enjoyed the sauna and hot pot, which is really a relaxing after a one-day trip. The breakfast and dinner are great.

There is no coffee machine or kettle inside the room. There is only one bottle of water provided per day for a group of six people. We also would like to have a refrigerator in the room.

The hotel is located very close to the city center.Room is very spacious but smell if the appartment was closed for a very long time.

Bed sheets were not very clean so we needed to check other in the room that were available and clean.Person at the check in not very friendly (on the other hand the one during the checkout the experience was great!)

This was an exceptional,hotel experience. I made a booking mistake and Patrick, the manager, handled everything with amazing hospitality at no extra charge. Clearly all the staff had the same cheerful and helpful attitude. This hotel from cleanliness to a fabulous breakfast plus location rates a ten out of ten.

Modern, clean, and comfortable room. Everything felt luxurious and was a nice place to come back to rest after hiking at Lake Oeschinensee - which was so easy to get to as the hotel was situated right outside the cable car! Being able to have views of the surrounding mountains from the shower was a delightful bonus.

Construction is currently occuring at the hotel so during the days it can be noisy. Views from my room were obstructed by construction. I imagine that this would be a wonderful place once the renovations are completed!

Great location next to the gondola (however it was closed when we were there end on March). We hiked up to the lake and the hike was basically at our doorstep which was amazing. The rooms were renovated nicely, a tiny bit small but they were comfortable and all we needed. The staff were lovely and it was great to have the sauna, jacuzzi and restaurant all on site. Would definitely visit again, maybe in autumn next time!

Nothing much unfortunately.they give you a CHF 30 coupon for your next stay, because you were not able to sleep because of the construction activities in the building which they did not tell you about. Thank you so much.

The hotel is undergoing remodeling or whatever these construction areas in the hotel are. Very noisy, starting early in the morning, very annoying. I wish they would have said something at the time of the booking, which they did not. The restaurant was good for nothing that night, only cheese fondue or cheese raclette. If you don't like cheese, well then, you go hungry or you go elsewhere. Finally, the breakfast buffet was depleted when we got there, although still way before advertized closing time. BTW, when you return from your dinner late night, you magically are supposed to know that there is a backdoor on the other side of the building because the front door is locked. They don't tell you, I guess they assume you are smart enough to find out for yourself.

Very comfortable bed and good breakfast. The cable car to Oeschinensee is just outside the hotel.

The Hotel is really cozy with a lot of wood that makes you feel at home immediately. The location is next to the Oeschinensee station which is great for those who ski. The room is clean, with a modern bathroom. Breakfast was good, with fresh bread, cheeses, charcuterie and eggs. We also liked dinner, when it was actually possible to eat there. Kndersteg is great for Cross-country skiing, especially for experienced people…

public transport is every 2 hours from the hotel to the station, we did not bring a car. Hotel was understaffed, and the hours for dinner are a joke. Closed at 8.30 pm in the High Season at (over 300CHF for a small room in a 3*hotel) was disappointing. The hotel owner reacted in a rude manner when we asked why. First-Timers to Kandersteg should know that the village is in the shade most of the day, yet you see the sun from the distance which I found a bit depressing.

I am extremely dissatisfied with my recent stay at your hotel. The room was far below acceptable standards: it was not clean, with visible dust under the bed, a toilet that emitted an unpleasant odor, and outdated 1990s decor that was partially broken (e.g., coat hangers).Additionally, the room was located directly under the main dining area, and we could hear every chair scraping across the floor until 11 PM. Despite every guest having an assigned breakfast spot, we were inexplicably unable to have dinner at the hotel.To make matters worse, there was no hot water for the entire three-day stay. We managed one freezing shower and were fortunate to shower before our departure.Overall, the experience was deeply disappointing and absolutely not worth the price, even considering the location.

Wonderful location, so tranquil and brilliantly placed for getting the gondola to Lake Oeschinensee, which turned out to be one of my top hikes of all time - wow!Hotel Ermitage is super cute. The restaurant is lovely and had plenty of delicious vegetarian choices for me. Breakfast is great. The views are amazing.We went into the hot pot after a strenuous day hiking which was so much fun and perfect for soothing the muscles!We stargazed at the beautiful night sky from the hotel car park with the tinkling of cow bells from the field. All the staff were delightful. Thank-you everyone for our wonderful stay!
